Keep an eye out at the amazon deals

Last month they had this offer
http://local.amazon....g=hotukdeals-21

But I have seen it a few times, with a bit of luck you might be able to get it again.

Not stayed there my self, but I noticed the travelodge were advertising rooms (on UK travellodge website) for 30 pound a night in the Barcelona travellodge.

Ask Sofia(Suarez wife) for sure her family can help you, Uruguayans are well known for their hospitality.
Btw didn't we have a forumite from Barcelona?

Not sure of the price, but stayed in a hotel called The Mirror last year - was really modern, absolutely loved it - right in the centre of the city - think it was relatively cheap (or at least underpriced for a very nice hotel) because it was fairly new - not sure about price now.

Couple years back missus and I booked an apartment through alpharooms. Very central but still quiet just off Rambles. Only weird thing was a lift slap bang in middle of the living room

Matt, you must have a shit load of air miles from all your travels, no?

I took my lad to Stamford Bridge back in November (I know international flights may be different), we got 2 return flights Edinburgh to Heathrow, and a night in the Sofitel at Terminal 5 for £30 all in, using my air miles

Might be an option to look at.

The club do tickets + museum packages for people to pick up at their hotels mate.

Depending on the game, tickets can be purchased on the day of the game at the stadium - it holds a lot!

Got my flights booked mate, got a good price. Saving up the airmiles at the moment (Virgin Atlantic credit card wracks up points!!), can get a return to NY at moment. Cheers for advice.

It's only against Levante, but don't want to risk getting ripped off. Or is there loads of tickets available on the day around the ground (but still in decent seats).

I think the most 'done' thing is to stay in Salut and then travel into Barcelona - much cheaper.

Cheers for the replies lads.

Ive got my flight and accommodation booked now.

Only remaining is match tickets. Someone advised just waiting and getting tickets from the sellers in Ramblas area etc, but I would really prefer to have tickets sorted before.

Graham Hunter (author of the Barca book) recommends http://www.fcbarcelona-tickets.co.uk/ -- tickets in bottom 2 tiers there are 111 euros each. Which seems a bit much for a game against Levante!

Any ideas? Advice?

Cheers again.

I wouldn't stress about tickets Matt.

I just got back from 10 days in Malaga, and picked up a ticket to Malaga vs Zaragoza for 30 euro about 40 minutes before kick off.  Whilst speaking to a few locals pre-game, they were saying that there are only a few games each season the are sell outs ie El Classico, El Deri Madrileno.

Even Barca vs Espanyol you can still get tickets on the day from the club ticket office

You should go to Salou Matt.

40 mins by bus. 25 mins by cab.

Safer, loads more vibrant & you have everything there, including LFC bars.

As for tickets, when I went last season, every single excursion vendor you see on the streets does packages. So you get like a coach ticket that picks you up from your hotel, the match ticket, food & drink, then return travel.

But if you want to do it cheaper, get a return ticket to Barca on a local bus - of which there are many. Then get your ticket at the ground. Much cheaper.

You'll have a blast. The ground is awesome, but much smaller than it seems!
