Hi guys, was directed to start the thread in this place!

After being a Liverpool fan for 35 years, I finally made up my mind (emotionally and financially) that I need to make a pilgrimage to Anfield this coming season, hoping to catch a match in November or if not, March. I have asked around many times and have even written to Liverpool Football Club asking whether for someone like me, who wished to fulfill a dream of coming to Anfield for the very first time. I was told it was not really possible for them to reserve a ticket for me and I can understand why and they direct me to either get a ticket through my local fan club in Singapore or get a hospitality package.

For the Fan Club option, it is cheaper definitely but the problem is, they cannot be sure of the tickets for months ahead while I prefer to book my tickets early so I can book my air tickets early to get a good price.

So the option of Hospitality package. Anyone here has done this before? From what I see, even the cheapest option is not really that cheap. While I am not going to scrimp and save having come here all the way from Singapore, I also do not like the feeling of overpaying for something. Paying for the match definitely has no price tag for me, but paying for the "privilege" to be in some lounge before the match, is not something I can put a value on...so would like anyone who has bought it to share their opinion on it!

Anyone?

Save your money mate.

The hospitality package appears to me to be a rip off.

Ok, you get a meal and stuff, but from what I've seen they stick you in the corner of the Centenery Stand next to the Annie Rd.

If you're going in November, pick a game when the fixture list comes out in June, then PM me and I'll get you a ticket.

If for any reason I cant get you one, I know someone who will help.

I think its worth it for the bigger matches. For instance say United game all the tickets will sell out and become hard to attain especially being based in singapore and wanting to book things in advance.

its an easier way to guarantee a seat / ticket. the "lounge experience" - meal etc is not worth the money but a good result will make up for it!!

It might be your best option. There are packages available for most games every season.

Hey mate! Thanks. Precisely...I really do not mind paying for a ticket but to pay so much and still get stuck in a corner...I just do not feel right...ok...I am going to plan my time and will PM you and hopefully, you could help me get a ticket when I have decided my schedule, but its ok if its not possible! THanks for your feedback also!

Thats how I feel too and that is why I am writing here to get feedback from people who go to matches more often and are in tune with all these "packages" so I can make a conscious decision instead of getting rip off and regretting later haha... but as you said, a good result and any money is well spent...

No problem mate.

Even though I hate the new ticket selling arrangements, tickets are very easy to come by if you have a memebership.

I didn't bother trying in either of this seasons sales, simply because I couldn't be arsed going.

Only been to one game this season, Chelsea away, and will probably only go to away games next season and maybe some of the more attractive home fixtures, so shouldn't be any problem at all getting you a ticket for the game you choose.

There's a web site called craigslist. Look for "Craigslist Liverpool" (http://liverpool.craigslist.co.uk/)  and post a wanted ad for a ticket, its free and has  worked for me every time I travel to England from California.

However before the Mancs game in September last year, 300 pounds was the asking price so I passed. But you can often pick up a good ticket for around 100 pounds.

Mate do you have membership?i might be wrong, but you can buy a membership for 30£ and then buy tickets as and when available. Again I'm not sure, since you are an international fan, you might only get international membership which I think doesn't give you the privilege to buy tickets.i was in uk last year and I did that. Saw 3 games and it was worth it. Best option I think would be for you to catch a member from Tia and book it through him. Will be cheaper for you. I hope this help and I hope your dreams come true. Think Dane will be more than able to sort you out mate and if not just send me an message, me and a few friends have memberships and definitely can't afford to go to all games so shouldn't be any issue getting you or you and a friend tickets. Hell I may even go myself. Money worries this year clear up in the summer so may be able to actually go some games next year.

Thanks for all the feedbacks and offer to help! Really appreciate that. I am working out my schedule now and I also have to wait till June when the match fixtures come out and make a decision. And perhaps I hope I can meet some of you guys before the game or after the game and buy you guys a drink! Would really be an experience not just to go to a match and meet some of these people I have been "debating" with from some time now.
