Klopp is not in Berlin today even if Dortmund asked him to come.

He is visiting a goodbye-party in Mainz where his friend and sport director Heidel is leaving the club after 24 successful years.

    :-(

Klopp is back in Germany. I think he needs a break from football, I am sure he will keep updated with the score. Is Heidel the man who is going to be sports director at Schalke?

I cannot predict the result of this match, it will be a close one. I think Lahm, the LB of Bayern Munich was interviewed by Jamie Carragher and he said he has been watching alot of EPL football closely since Klopp joined Liverpool, which is interesting.

Yes. I would preffer him in Dortmund but there is Zorc already.

It's unbelievable how successful Heidel developed the small club Mainz 04.

Is Zorc, the greyed haired one with glasses?

I am trying to familiarise myself with who is who in Dortmund and Bundesliga in general.

Oh no, it is not him, but I think the guy I am thinking of is connected with Dortmund, maybe the local journalist? I have seen him a lot on German TV. He was at the Dortmund and LFC match, first leg.

Ein Schelm, wer böses dabei denkt...
(A rascal who suspects evil doing with this), but...
it just crossed my mind if Klopp might be testing the waters with his old buddy Heidel to lure him over in the future.
When does Ian quit again?

They are showing a lot of programmes on Bayern Munich now on BT sports Europe, the build up to the match.

4-3-3 or 4-2-3-1? I guess Bender and Weigl as double pivots.

Funny guy, but no real pundit in my opinion.
I think he is still working for bayern in some way.

And in the 1970s he claimed to be a maoist.

Seems kind of like humble, philosophical kind of man. Yes, he is still at Bayern Munich. He praised Pep quite a bit for bringing in a more attractive football.

Yes, philosophical might be the right word.
And I think he already was that way as a player.
Like mentioned above I think I read stories about him (it was before my time) that he admired che guevara and posed with a mao bible infront of the media in the early 1970s.
It was unusual back then for football players to express political views (especially extreme ones) and still is.
Because most players seem to be uninterested in things like politics and don't want to rub the public the wrong way.

I always enjoyed his interviews (that's why I wrote that I find him funny) but haven't seen any in a while.
I also missed that one because I'm watching the FA cup.

Now I know who Paul Breitner is, he played in 1974 World Cup, he had permed hair like Kevin Keegan. He looks so old.

What a fantastic opening ceremony for the DFB Cup final. It is almost like a World Cup opening ceremony.

Very fast and high tempo game. I am enjoying it so far.

    Come on Dortmund!

If this enters into penalty, I'd bet on Neuer coming out on top....

This can go either way. I think our German TIA contingent are probably glued to the tv.
It is a very exciting match though.

ETA: all the players are tired with cramp. I feel for them. Only the players who have the most stamina will win this match.
