Omg, penalties! Wonder what Dortmund fan is going through.
Dortmund keeper coming out quite far from the line....
Bayern won it..... deservingly so.
Big mistake from Tuchel to nominate two defenders Sokratis and Bender for penalties. There are much better penalty specialists in the squad.
Anyway Dortmund was not better today, the players looked tired.
It was a closely contested match tbh.
I feel sorry for Dortmund.
Let's see what Pep can conjure up in EPL. I heard Mourinho is coming to Man Utd.
Thomas Tuchal is such a great manager and such a nice personality. He will win a trophy soon. I really could not fault his tactics.
Congratulations Bayern Munich. Commiserations Borussia Dortmund.
Let both fight with eachother next season (incl. tv and media circus) during Klopp will build and develop his dream team for the future. A perfect situation for Liverpool.
Tuchel is confirming his mistake in an interview now.
"I nominated wrong players for penalties"
Heard the same by a friend of mine, who is a big Dortmund supporter, but I wouldn't blame Tuchel for this. Maybe the others didnt feel confident enough. Wouldn't be a good idea by a coach to force a player to shoot. Nevertheless you're right. Especially Benders penalty was shit. He just want to get over it as fast as possible and his shakiness was obvious. Sokratis failed, too, but for me he was the man of the match and really brilliant in Dortmunds defense, so I understand why he took a penalty. Although Bayern deserved it I hate to see them win it again, Dortmund reached the penalties against probably the best team in the world - by far in my opinion - fans should be proud and move on. Like Hummels, who can go an win titles with Tom Starke now, cunt...
It was a very nerve wrecking but entertaining match. I thought Dortmund played very well, but Bayern had the luck, Robert got on my nerves throughout the match. Pep Guardiola seems to have the midas touch, wherever he goes. However, Dortmund are Champions League level. I really believe, if Dortmund were in the Europa League final instead of Liverpool, they would have beaten Sevilla.
@Eintrachtfan , how did your team do, I hope they manage to get out of relegation? I saw something on twitter.
It's far from being a close affair for me though. Bayern dominated proceedings and had carved out a few chances while Dortmund didn't do much at all. They were playing very much like Leicester style, waiting to pounce on a counter. Feel Bayern deserves this one.
@lfc.eddie , Bundesliga is the same top two always, the same top two, a bit too predictable, like the Scottish League with Rangers and Celtic.
Gotta love those Rangers-Celtic games though. Epic atmosphere.
And don't forget La Liga as well.... With an off season of Atletico Madrid spoiling the party, German has their Atletico Madrid too. The difference is, in Bundesliga, Bayern has been far more superior than any other teams in there.
Interesting: not one mention of Ribery's despicable actions in the first half. Bayern should've been down to ten men; that would've altered the complexion of the game completely.
Yes, I noticed that too, i agree, Ribery was horrid, he should have been sent off. There were many yellow cards on the Bayern side. I really think Dortmund were unlucky.
Also Wolfsburg, Bremen, Stuttgart etc. won BL in the last years. Only Schalke didn't.
Kevin Großkreutz has a restaurant and is looking for new employees via Instagram.
Schock for Bayern!
Lewandowski's agent: "we have meetings with Real Madrid".
Lewandowski: "Real has started to contact us few weeks ago"
"I'm in Germany since 6 years, have won here everything. Sometimes you should to think about new steps"
Real offered a 6-years-contract with up to € 25 m salary per year (his salary in Bayern is € 9 m per year).
Can see this happening... but then again, if it happens, Dortmund will surely have to resist an approach from Bayern for Aubameyang, and that could be difficult to swallow for Dortmund fans...
Just can't see them letting Aubameyang go this summer, with Hummels already gone and Gundogan seemingly off to City. It's pretty much impossible for Dortmund to replace the latter two like for like, which probably means Tuchel needs to work out a new plan for their build-up play. If he then loses Aubameyang as well, in the same window, it could be too much. Basically ripping out the whole spine of the team.
But, but Zorc is a genius, he makes so much euros for the club doing that.....
Aubameyang said many times that he will not leave Dortmund this season.
He also said if he will move oneday then only to Spain and only to Real because of his family.
That's what I was thinking too. It would be brutal.
Ok fair enough then. In that case, Bayern will have difficulties to replace Lewandowski. Good for Dortmund this...
Balague said something like Lewandowski doesn't see himself fitting in that team with Ronaldo (who wants his own freedom). Ronaldo is set to stay so probably no movement here. Although Benzema (quality season at Real considering the stuff he had off the pitch), who we know does his work apart from goalscoring, could be a wanted man again this summer. Morata is also a realistic option for Real if they activate his buy-back clause (and then use him or sell him again, not sure if they would trust him as their new main striker, he might be an option even if Benzema stays).
Gabon's Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang named Bundesliga player of the year
The Gabon captain finished just 0.2% ahead of Bayern Munich's Robert Lewandowski, who was the top scorer in the league last season.
The award is voted for by the German players' union, the VDV.
"It's a great honour to be recognised and appreciated by your fellow colleagues," Aubameyang said.
"This is for everyone at Dortmund and our amazing fans."
Aubameyang, who is also the African Footballer of the Year, scored 25 goals and made six assists in 31 league games as Dortmund finished runners-up in the Bundesliga.
He also scored 39 goals in all competitions last season and becomes the first African to win the VDV award since its inception in 1998.
He is also the only African named in the Bundesliga team of the year.
Aubameyang and Henrikh Mkhitaryan are joined in the 'Team of the Season' by team-mate Mats Hummels, who will join Bayern Munich this summer.
The 2015/16 Bundesliga team of the season:
Goalkeeper: Manuel Neuer (Bayern Munich)
Defenders: Mats Hummels (Bayern Munich), Jerome Boateng (Bayern Munich), David Alaba (Bayern Munich), Philipp Lahm (Bayern Munich)
Midfielders: Thomas Müller (Bayern Munich), Henrikh Mkhitaryan (Dortmund), Douglas Costa (Bayern Munich), Arturo Vidal (Bayern Munich)
Strikers: Robert Lewandowski (Bayern Munich), Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang (Dortmund)
Paul Clement reunites with Ancelotti at Bayern.
Mainz will open a new stadium in August.
Opel and FSV Mainz 05 revealed that the football stadium will henceforth be known as OPEL ARENA.
I think that Opel are official endorser of Klopp, so perhaps that's one of the reasons why Mainz invited Liverpool for a friendly.
