It's Lutz Pfannenstiel, I think (name says it all, doesn't it;-)).
Ironically made famous because he played on all continents. Basically the "ultimate foreigner" himself...

    Thanks.
I know that guy now that you've mentioned his last name.
He also played a lot in England I believe.

Of course he really simplified it.
But he ain't totally off the mark in my opinion.
Bundesliga youth players should be glad that most of their clubs don't have that kind of money to spend and the attitude that comes with it.

Yeah, definitely. I think it's a mixture of the relative lack of money (compared to the EPL) and the success of the academies since there was a lot of investment in the academies since the early 2000s.

1-0 England, goal NOT from Dominic Solanke.

There is an England thread in the football forum.
Maybe we should discuss this game there

Dominic Solanke - England World Cup winner, along with Mr Ojo.

    Welcome to LFC...

Will he be up there with the likes of Mbappe come December?

    Forget pipe dreams like Mbappe.
But Solanke and Ojo will be here, that's for sure. Or at least still be under contract.

He need playing time, a lot of it. One reason to why so many French players, like Mbappe, develop better a young age is that they get a lot more playing time in the highest league. We can't afford to give youngsters the same chance because we play against many more quality clubs.

If he isn't at worst third choice this season then we should loan him out. Playing U23 football isn't good enough. If he play week in week out for us in the PL/CL then he could be as good, or almost as good as Mbappe the following season. Can we afford to drop points in the league this season because he need playing time and get rewarded for it the following season and many seasons after that?

If he was close to being as good as Mbappe we wouldn't be dropping any points by including him.

    But he isn't.

Who knows? If he get a chance he may score a lot of goals. He need to the chance first but I agree with you. He is probably not as good as Mbappe and if he would be that then we wouldn't drop any points because of him.

I think that he already a better player than Origi for example. We have probably dropped points in the league because Origi wasn't good enough but he needed the playing time and he was our best option.

I would sell Origi and give Solanke his place in the squad.

Follows in the likes of Maradona, Messi, Aguero, Figo and ..... Pogba.

I say he may well be in 1st team sooner rather than later, and the more game time he gets, the better he will be.

    And Prosineki

But even if he can only live up to the careers of other best player award winners like Sedou Keita and Saviola we'd have bagged ourselves a good one.

I don't know if it's any different for players his age, but I think players are usually free to speak to other clubs when they enter the final six months of their contracts, as Solanke did in January. Obviously there's the tribunal for players below a certain age as well.

Edit: There's some kind of distinction there between players based in England and those overseas, but can't remember what. If only we had an expert on such regulations posting on the forum lol

As you say, very unlikely... as LFC announced Solanke end of May, and clubs are allowed to talk to out of contract players from 3rd week of May....

With contracted players, we can't talk to them without their clubs permission first - hence VVD was different. But LFC never officially announced anything on VVD, it was just media speculation.

We've got a gem in Solanke and even Brewster who came from Chelsea too looks good.

But likely or not... this will go as well all over the internet...because...apparently we are tapping players over and over again ( as it sounds)

Dominic Solanke, you have to change your twitter background image before coming to Anfield!

To those who want to visit his page:
    It's not for the faint-hearted!

I don't know the context, but I guess it was taken during some England camp.
It features two familiar faces
