Couldn't see a thread for this season yet so here goes. Only two games into the third round but already dominant performances from both Mancs. Will be interesting to see whether the PL top six will go all out this season.

Also, never good to see United scoring but the Reading keeper, Al-Habsi, has made one of the most hilarious gaffes you're ever likely to see. They were well and truly beaten already but that ones just taking the piss.

A few PL teams headed to replays they probably don't want. Burnley, Sunderland, Palace, Southampton all in replays.

No joy across Stanley Park as Leicester City come from behind to beat Everton on two Ahmed Musa goals.

Yesterday, Man City beat West Ham 0-5, Hammers were dreadful.

Even in a 3nd round vs preston, a chamionship midtable team, wenger can't start more than 2 domestic players.
And only one came through the ranks at arsenal.
When was the last time wenger really was able to bring a player through the youth teams into the first team? And I'm not talking about some 17 year old lads whom he bought from other clubs as known big talents.
In the meantime the media did celebrate his version of youth development.

I don't understand why midtable EPL team don't take the FA cup seriously. They ain't going to be in the relegation battle and they ain't going to make Europe, so why blow the only chance of silverware and European football.

Good to see Southampton drawing and adding another fixture to their workload for this month. It may benefit us in the League Cup semi-final. Puel rotated a few players today but still had Van Dijk, Bertrand, Tadic, Hojbjerg, Ward-Prowse and Long starting for them. Their resources will be getting stretched now. A few injuries in the next couple of weeks and they'll probably play 10 defenders against us in the 2nd leg.

    As for the bitters lol

Should be 2-0 PNE over gooners. Nothing wrong with that challenge, striker got his head on the ball at same time as contact, keeper whiffed at it.

That was really a superb sequence from McGeady to create the Preston goal.

    Preston just hanging on now.

It is surprising that Jenkinson has not left Arsenal. He was progressing well, but seemed to dead end there. The loans to West Ham don't seem to have done him any good, the injury was ill-timed in that it probably closed off a likely transfer.

I think it was the right call. I have no problem with the contact, but when you;re jumping with a keeper you need to go straight up. The Preston lad jumped towards the keeper. Soft, but that's the way the game has been called for 30 years.

Ramsey's goal probably should have been disallowed for offside though as it went right by an Arsenal player (Perez) who was in the keepers line of sight.

I think he was refering to Bournemouth resting so many players in their loss to Millwall - or at least if the talksh*te and bbc callers reactions last night is anything to go by.

Eddie Howe copped an absolute pasting from the public for it.

They should easily have the depth to get past Peterborough.

On a side note, I think that all of the tv channels have dropped the ball with the televised games this round. Not 1 televised game this weekend has featured a team of any interest (taking the liverpool tinted glasses off) as they have taken the easy choice and shown the usual suspects. Why didn't any of them take a punt on the Sutton-AFC Wimbledon or Borrow-Rochdale games which would have held with the ethos of the romance of the FA Cup, and are the sort of games where the general public like to tune in to watch purely because it is an underdog story, which at the end of the day most people love to see (as long as it doesn't involve your team losing to them)

Interesting side from Chelsea. A couple of their "kids" get a shot, but more importantly Zouma is back. Assuming he gets through the game without issue that could fill a big gap for them in terms of the squad limitations they look like they have right now.

Zouma is a fantastic player, and with his physical abilities you'd think he'd fit their 3 at the back system as well as anyone they have.

Aye, and it would free up Spanish Dave to go out wide and fill in at either RWB or LWB. I have said they are pretty bare in a few positions, notably at the back, but a fit Zouma on the same form as before his injury makes a big difference.

Oof. Careful what you wish for. Thats exactly what our broadcaster did and the Sutton - AFC Wimbledon game was the game offer. Shite teams playing shite football with a shite referee on a god awful shite pitch. My eyes are still bleeding!
