A thread for French top league's connoisseurs.
This is why Bielsa never got one of the major jobs - just that little bit too unpredictable. Quit after one match.
Maybe Rogers will do 'Bielsa' if we lose today. I think Bielsa was there at the end of last year as well, no?
Marseille have confirmed Michel as their new man in charge who joins from Olympiacos after 3 consecutive domestic titles and 1 cup.
Our EL opponent, Bordeaux is playing a good game tonight away against PSG. Did not expect them to be so problematic to the oil feckers. They have some personality in their play and I actually like them. Too bad they have a shit keeper based on tonight.s game. Still only 2-1 with 30 minutes to go and pressing for the equalizer.
L.E.: looks like Kevin Trapp, PSG keeper is just as shit 2-2. Saivet from Bordeaux sent off as well.
PSG's to lose again really even if they have another blip under Blanc again like last season.
Clearly, no question about that... that's why I took some pleasure from the draw last night haha.
I enjoy watching Lyon with their preference of bringing players through their own system (guess it's natural being a Crewe fan) and still competing with the top clubs in Ligue 1.
Curious to know how Lacazette performs this season. he really took off front he start last year.
And I agree, I love seeing home grown talent. Sigh.
PSG are looking like Barcelona this season, a formidable passing side. It wouldn't surprise me one bit to see them reach the UCL final this season.
Ps; what a player Verratti is, to think they bought him for next to nothing for Italy's Serie B.
He's an interesting case study. As a kid was wanted by several big Serie A clubs, but elected to sign for his smaller hometown club and subsequently started playing the first team at 16. Two and a bit years later he made the big jump. Had he signed for Inter as a kid he probably wouldnt have many of any senior appearances by that point.
The poise, the beauty, the inevitable...
Changes at 4th place Nice. Claude Puel left, Lucien Favre is the new man in charge. It seems like Ben Arfa will also leave.
French League seems to have gained some of its old charm back with PSG well off the pace and Nice topping the league.
Ah thats nice
We should get some credit for their success, we sent them such a prolific goal scorer...
martin storey could not do better
