I thought about his shoulders as well, must be some kind of "secret push ups" ... No idea how this kind of things are called in english ;-) (to make things look bigger than they actually are)

With shoulders like that he should be charging out and punching balls into the opposition's box...

I remember that, and my first reaction, as with lots of other non- bayern fans was one of dismay !!! because we assumed , as it was Bayern that it would be allowed !!!

What about Harold Schumacher clearing his box in 82 against France

The French lad lost two teeth, cracked three ribs and fell into a coma. Schumacher still denies there was any intent.

This reminds me of the punchline to a jingle Chris Tarrant used to run during the 1990 world cup on his radio show. It was largely a montage of him commentating on England games in a jokey fashion, and England winning the tournament. When the segment covers England vs Argentina much of it involves England players giving Maradona a bit of a kicking and ends with the line " and the referee signals fair challenge" or something like that.

Yes, someone posted in the match thread Lucas, klavan and Matip may all be out as they haven't trained this week.

Just seen a tweet from the club that all three haven't trained, while Klopp is saying Gomez has come on in leaps and bounds v

I hope that his injuries do not become an ongoing issue as was the case with Agger. I see many similarities in their styles and presence. Although this is Matips first season with us/EPL, he is my player of the season.

BTW.. I hope it is a "FakeBook" rumour

Edit... By the time I posted there were other posts..
    Damn I am so slow

Firmino is being carefully managed as well for the run-in, with Klopp afraid he's in the 'red zone'. Hopefully, if it's true Matip hasn't trained, it's more a precaution to ensure he plays v Palace than an indication he's injured again. We shall see.

The way Klopp talked up Gomez, makes me think this unlikely.

I was afraid that Matip might turn into another Agger. So far, the similarities are eerie... Tall, elegant, fearless and prone to niggles and knocks. Klopp has almost confirmed that he's after a new centre back, our first choice ones are inconsistent fitness-wise, even Klavan and Lucas are getting injured now...

Oh well, that was due to happen at some point, wasn't it... we never keep our best players fit for a long time. If there is one pattern about this club since around 2010, it's this one. With the noticeable exception of Suarez, who had his own problems though because of long-term suspensions (and what a surprise: he hasn't had any of them with Barcelona).

So, ladies and gents, please welcome back the Klavan/Lovren pair... yeah...

Klavan and Lucas are injured as well?

Klopp must be cursing our luck. I know I am. Injuries severely curtailed the chances we had for the title and now they're threatening to do the same to our top 4 bid. I don't know if it's just ridiculously bad luck or something wrong with the training regime or just the fact that a number of these players are made out of glass, but this situation can't go on.

He already took some steps by recruiting Kornmayer and Nemmer but obviously that hasn't been enough. With Europe secured for the next season, the thought of having to play every few days while dealing with a similar or worse number of injuries is frightening.

No need for ott reactions, if a player picks up a knock during a game that doesnt mean he is "injury prone" or whatever... things like this happen all the time, even in training.
Klopp said nothing is 100 %clear at the moment, so calm down everybody. :-)

Calm down? This is the Internet age, it's our right and duty to panic at every opportunity quickly followed by overly optimistic dreams of mega signings and the downfall of all things Manc. Or at the very least a minimum of 6 first team players fit.

Matip missed 16 games in 5 seasons at shalke I've just read & already he's missed 11 so far this season for Liverpool. Klopps Dortmund were full of injuries aswell. Surely klopp has to take some blame here

Why? It might just be an outlier. His ankle injury earlier in the season was a recurrance of an injury that the club thought had healed last summer. Matip himself said that he thought he was fine but pushed himself too hard which led to it flaring up at the turn of the year. He's been playing with the back injury the last couple of weeks. Not sure if that came about from a match, or training.
