The predictions of 6th seem about right, although even that won't be easy. So far this season we look like less of a team than last and there are square pegs in round holes everywhere you look. Our attack will probably be the most entertaining, if not most potent in the league. But the center of the park is a trainwreck so our results will probably be all over the place and a +1 or +2 GD max wouldn't be surprising.

The teams who fell flat last year have all reloaded, and only Southampton looks to potentially fall out of the top 8. There are five teams that are distinctly better than us and probably 3-4 that aren't far off being on our level. Not much has to go their way for us to finish lower down than last season, but a lot would have to go right for us to earn a spot in Europe.

A season of frustration filled with big highs and surprising lows, a lot of real or imagined sulking by Sturridge and some undoubtedly weird developments involving Sakho. We won't be wanting for entertainment and a cup win should be the least we strive for, but a 'great leap forward' probably won't happen just yet.

Pretty much agrée but who's to say the other teams reloading will automatically click into place?

    Everton only 8th?
They are strong and the Leicester of this season.

    ManU as PL winner?
    You probably mean ManCity.

Time to fire this thread up again and look at the pre season predictions and it makes interesting reading now.....some embarrassing, some Nostradamus.

    - Better than last year - tick (not a ballsy prediction really)
    - Ahead of United - 50/50 but on target
    - Mane 11 v Sterling 6 - looking good
    - Bournemouth relegated - still a chance and Leicester outside top 10 certain
    - Ibra - might have got this wrong unfortunately. He has been better than I hoped
    - Top 4 thread - A week ago we were finished, now we can win the league again...enough said
    - FA Cup win - Foolish failed prediction
    - Wenger to retire - looking good he is done.

Anyone else to put their head on the chopping block?

We have a probationary period on here now?

Is it like employment though where although you might pass your probation you can be fucked off in the first 2 years without reason?

You can be fucked off any time. It depends on your behaviour... ^^

    Anyway, back on topic now.

Perhaps we should have a review of this thread. My take on each of my predictions is as below.

    1. Got this smack on and was my biggest hope for this season.
    2. Badly out unfortunately - hopefully we can do a lot better next season.
    3. Spot on - what a player!
    4. Rather out on that one but has come close a few times - hopefully he can do this next season.
    5. Rather out again - perhaps slightly due to reduced playing time at the beginning of the season.
    6. Hmmm - probably not but I actually quite rate him as a player - for the price he was an absolute steal and the fact that he was effectively a younger (and much better) replacement for Skrtel demonstrates what a bargain he was.
