100% done ✅
He indeed appears to be leaning on a LFC branded youth. This is confirms it for me.
Has this got something to do with @Kopstar .
I had imagined him to be a bit older to be honest...
No way, I am pretty sure thats not @Kopstar , I think he`s a little older than that.
Edit: Damn German typing again
Kopstar got me bad last week.
Unless that kid is actually 5'11 and 14 stone, I'm actually surprised (and a little disappointed) how slight VVD looks in that pic.
193 cm, 93 kg - that is definitely on the thin side, but footy players are generally scrawny
That's no kid, that's Peter crouch
Looks very much photoshopped to me. His head just seems way out of proportion to the rest of his body. He's a big lad but his head never looked that big when its on his shoulders.
Not been linked with any other CBs at the moment is probably a good sign that we didn't gave up on VvD but it is frustrating that it feels like nothing happens at the moment. We will have to wait until Southamptons pre season starts.
After the problem was caused by a 'leak' (still not sure if it was an intentional briefing to the press or someone overstepping their bounds by saying something they shouldn't have), I just think we've closed ranks this summer, with zero information coming out until it's ready to announce.
After Salah, I wouldn't be surprised if we only hear about further signings mere hours before they're confirmed.
You're probably right and that means the coming months will be hard for us fans.
Exactly. Like last summer.
Been quiet for a week or so now, papers moved on to Ronaldo and Costa. Feels like the VVD signing's getting done behind closed doors, leak free, as it should be. Hope so anyway.
I am not sure if it is genuine but the echo seems to be suggesting that LFC should get banned for the VVD tapping offence? I am quite disturbed by this self flaggellation of all the papers I would have expected such an article it certainly would not have been the Echo?
Repeat offenders LFC should get transfer ban - but Van Dijk could still move - Liverpool Echo
If they get a ban for the tapping up bit, then every club in the PL should get it at some point. It's how deals are done. The buying club rarely initiates negotiations with the selling club without having contacted the agent of the player first to see if there's interest in a move - and to get the agent/player to apply a bit of pressure on the selling club.
It would open a pretty epic can of worms.
I agree with you totally but my point is that the Echo should not have churned up that VVD fiasco in this way to the detriment of the club?
It's not. It's suggesting that Southampton's view is that we should recieve a ban but they are still willing to sell us VVD.
OK I'll buy that maybe overreacted a bit, if we manage to sign him in the end that will be the only thing that counts
Correction, after looking at the article again. It is the view of a Southampton fan being interviewed by the Echo.
My thoughts on this one is as follows.
1) The deal is not dead at all.
2) All press have been given a gagging order by both clubs around the transfer.
3) We publically apologised as not to cause problems with the sale of Southampton.
4) Once the sale of Southampton goes through, a new manager will come in and VVD will be sold to raise funds for his new squad.
5)Wake up,smell coffee.
This fella's thread is going to surpass Silva's and Villa's thread back in those years.
Here is a handy guide to posting in this thread. If it's about Van Dijk moving to Liverpool, it's fine. It's it's about Indiana Jones, the Goonies, Banarama, Eerie, Indiana, or the Karate Kid, it's not. Please stay on topic.
Could aswell close this thread for 10 days because nothing will happen until Southamptons pre season starts and the transfer windows opens.
What's even harder for us - nothing will happen if VvD does not express his wish to leave.
I don't understand how it was so wrong that we had "tapped up" VVD but we have agreed terms with Salah but haven't agreed a fee.
Isn't it the same thing?
