Here we go again then, this might be a fruitless task as it is going to be hard to improve on last season but lets give it a go.

Season comparison with last seasons results reorganised into the same order as this season's fixtures so it gives a direct performance comparison for like for like fixtures.

Promoted sides compared against relegated sides.

I will update this after each game during the season, plus I may do some other topical stats such as Top 6 comparison if I feel in the mood for it lol

Buckle in everyone, could be a very good season!!!

And that's treating them with respect.

I'm guessing at some point in October we'll be more drawn to individual's season-to-season improvement: Alisson to break the Cech clean sheets record. Hendo to break his goal and assists record from 2014/15. Bobby and Naby to score 5 more each than last season. Ox to get to double figures etc etc etc.....

Let's re-sign suarez on loan for 1 game. Score 5 then he can fuck off again!

Hopefully no injuries in the afcon! Sign a forward or 2 and get things off to an emphatic start!

Wow. How fantastic was last season?
We will do well to match that but the funny thing is we could win the title with 6 or 7 points less.
What we need to remember (as fans) is even when the odds are against us and the game seems lost, we can take strength from the Barcelona game.
How you deal with pressure games is key in any title race but as European champions we should have a swagger and confidence which could be priceless.

I’m hopeful for the next season.

And a side note is, as European champions, I’m hoping teams will do to us what they did to city last season, ie, play weakened teams and give up before the balls been kicked.

You might get it at Anfield, I noted a few teams did it, anyhow I said you wouldn’t need 100 to win it last year and I was proved right, I actually think that may fall a bit more this season, so I’m thinking around 90 may even be enough. Especially with VAR in place.

I loved last season's version of this thread. This year's looks to me like I should just go ahead and ask my doctor to raise the dosage of by blood pressure meds before the season starts.

3 PL wins and a trophy. Not a bad start and better than I'd expected after the pre-season we had. The main difference with last season is our defensive record. Still no clean sheet. At this stage last season we hadn't conceded a goal.

Beat Burnley and JK will have a club record. 13 consecutive league victories. The longest winning run in LFC history.

Our boys are in for a street fight this weekend v Burnley. My loathe for Sean Dyche and his side notwithstanding, they have been a surprise so far in this early stage of the season. They aren't just sitting back and packing it in, they are willingly going at teams.

I am not taking a win over Dyche's hooligans for granted. In fact I think it will be our toughest game so far.

Although, of course, in the respective fixtures we had, and we've conceded no more than we did last season.

We didn't concede a goal in the first 3 games, but as the chart shows we did concede goals against the same opposition.

Goals Against so far we have matched last seasons effort if you go fixture to fixture.

Don't get me wrong I'm still dissapointed we have let the goals in but we are not as far off defensively as the hyperbolic media would have us believe.
