I've had 101 in my mind all season, dunno why I focused on that number.... Irony was I always thought 90pts would be enough this season, just couldn't see two performances like that last year. Fact was 86 was enough.
Cant see City getting more that 80 points this season. Reckon they will end around 75 points. We won this thing in Feb, we just didn't know it.
But 101 has a nice ring to it.

Need a name for this team too - there's been Arsenal's Invincibles and Citys Centurions... This team deserves to be the greatest of them all.

Mate just messaged me - he thinks the UNBELIEVABLES.

We will be called the unbearables whether we want it or not, whether its fair or accurate or not. May as well accept it and own it. Besides opposition find competing with us an unbearable task anyway so it's accurate in one respect!

I think we, the fans, are the Unbearables - self styled, and started when we won the champions league last year. This team will have a different name, this much I’m sure!

No chance we started it! It predates winning the CL. We were being referred to as "they'd be unbearable if they won it" all over the place when we were in the title race. It practically turned into a hate campaign when we were leading the race for a bit. We were called unbearable before we had a chance to be unbearable about anything!

That's true, but then some fans decided to turn the tables and take ownership of the name. There's an "Unbearables" flag on The Kop. In much the same way, some fans say they'll take ownership of the asterisk and use it as a badge of honour of how well we've done this season.

I'm waiting to get an Asterisk T Shirt -

Champi*ns
*Earliest Win
*100% Home Wins
*Most Points
*English, European and World Title Holders
*Most Guard of Honours
*Through a Pandemic

I'm sure there is more. But the Asterisk is ours.

No one is actually talking about the asterisk any more. We've won this fair and square. It is what it is.

And I 100% agree with those fans!

Kinda like a defence mechanism. If we refused to be called the unbearables obviously other fans would lay it on. Now we’ve embraced it , I’ve noticed it’s not said as much. Exact same with the asterisk, hardly mentioned as many Liverpool twitter accounts for example have it as the username so you can’t take the piss by mentioning any more. And long may it continue.

I just had to remind myself about 2017-18 run in and lo and behold I discovered that after 34 games not only are we 2 pts up this season on City back then, but that this season they are on 69 pts which is 1 pt behind our tally two years ago after 34 games.

Mental.

Just because you have mentioned it I have updated the season to season comparison I started a while back.

Interesting to note that- despite our general improvement over the last few seasons- it’s the same three away games, against our (supposedly) biggest rivals, that keep giving us problems.

Although Manchester City are obviously a good team, Everton and Manchester United are not our equals in pure quality terms. Is our continued mediocre record against these sides due to dubious officiating or down to Klopp being more cautious in these big games?

Discuss.

They are just battles that's all, both their team and fans view it as their cup final and raise their levels against us. Would be nice to see us start winning at them grounds though.

Remember the days when it was teams like Palace Away that was out bogey sides, so I will take these ones

So you would expect at Anfield we can overcome Burnley, Newcastle should be on the beach last game and won't put up too much of a fight.

Where is the best chance of the other 3 points to get the record

Arsenal Away or Chelsea at home.

Both games on current form could quite easily be a draw or loss with the way we are playing.

Record points total is far from certain for me despite what some pundits are saying

If Hendo is out for the rest of the matches, it's going to be a tougher get, he looked like he knew his season was over last night.

Just noticed Arsenal Away has been a draw last 2 seasons, so a loss or draw and they fall into the same bracket

I think in the case of Everton and United it's simply that they raise themselves to play us, combined with back-to-the-walls tactics that are hard to break down at the best of times.

That said, it was a bit of a travesty this year that United's goal at OT was allowed to stand, without that we'd have won.

Being our first match back post-lockdown was also a mitigating factor in the derby stalemate.

Not really a mystery why we struggle away to City.

Beat City away in 2018 in CL, none of the others were good enough to get into the CL. We'll beat them away well and good if they ever qualify again. Still begs the question why it should free us significantly mentally to face them in cup competitions.

Nervous for the Chelsea game especially if Hendo is out. Watched Pulisic a lot lately and he’s honestly world class. Fear for Trent they way he’s played lately if he’s up against a on form Pulisic

Like I just posted, don't forget April 2018. I'd love to see us play them away in one of the domestic cups next season....

I dont think Burnley is going to be as easy as many think.

Having said that, Jurgen is going for a win in every game as a draw is as a good as a loss. Obviously he says he plays each game as it comes, but they will want the Anfield 100% record and also record points total.

We've kind of got 4 cup finals coming up!

But it doesn't matter as we've got the biggest trophy of the lot. And done it in style.
