Chelsea are a mirage. We're going to batter them.

That drop in GD compared to similar fixtures last year isn't acceptable. Klopp out.

Was trying to see if there are some patterns in which we drop points during a particular period, and game-week 7 and 8 look like our Achilles heel. Although the matches haven't been kind as well as in 2017, these two games were New Castle and Man Utd. And 2018, these two were Chelsea and City.

It's your thread but in my opinion, if you're going to do this, you should put it in the Man City thread.
Agreed.

Personally I find it a bit disingenuous to mock them for their unrequited rivalry but then for their thread to be one of the most posted in and now to have a dedicated record of their results.

As I say, just my personal opinion.

Our first chance at green... and duly taken. Next two chances come up thick and fast... We couldn't, could we?

Greeeeen!
I'll take the GD+/- column becoming black if we can make the points+/- column greener.

Yep, not overly concerned about GD, 27 seasons of the Premiership GD has only decided the title once. We just need to concentrate on matching or beating last seasons points tally and we will be in with a chance.

However losing the title on GD sounds like a Liverpool thing doesn't it.

We could beat them 10 nil in both games. A forty goal swing in our favour might guarantee it.

Won our first 6 for the second consecutive season. This time last season we were 2 points clear of City. We drew our next game (Chelsea) and City went top.

Long way to go yet but incredible to be 10 points clear already of Chelsea, Spurs and United. The gulf is enormous.

Matched last season's result and score at the weekend (though I think the game was much harder than it was then), but next week is a chance to improve once again. While they're in good form, we should be aiming to beat Leicester at home.

Love a gritty 1-0.

Next up is the game that bugged me most last season. I can live with all the dropped points last season as they were tough fixtures, but this one felt like we should have won it with it being a home fixture, always felt like the one that cost us the title for me other than the City game.

This next run of 5 games is really tough. Leicester are built to cause us problems, then it's Old Trafford after the international break, Spurs who always give us a game at Anfield, then Villa and finally City at home. If we are still 5 points clear at the end of that sequence we'll have done well.

If we beat Leicester we will match our longest winning run from the start of a league season. 8 wins set in 1990/91. I remember thinking at the start of that season that maybe we were now completely invincible and could potentially win every game. We finished the season in 2nd place and haven't won the title since. So I'm not taking anything for granted right now. It's been a great run but we'll only know whether it's significant or not at the end of the season.

Yep, we battered them and from memory Maguire should have been sent off and Keita should have had a penalty - is that the right game?
