We are flying this seasons.

But 20 games in, we are only +6 on points and - 1 on GD this season when compared against last season!!!!

We just dropped a measly 15 points last season and lost the title.

Shows that the margins are very very small at the top level and 1 bad game can make a lot of difference.

Quite a few times this season we’ve cruised through the later parts of our games to conserve energy. I’m not bothered about the negative GD compared to last season. I’ll happily take 1-0 results in every game until season’s end. Keep the three points per game coming and let other teams bag the goals. (y)

This 15 pts figure is no longer relevant because 17 pts dropped still wins us the league and we must make sure that it doesn't go over this.

Yup. One game and all that.

But due to the current injury concerns, just a slight bit worried about our thin midfield and thin defence. If we reach Jan end without much issues and further injuries, we should be good.

Also shows how good we were last year.

Alot is being made of how good we are this year, when in reality we have been at this level now for some time.

Last years points haul of 97 would have won the title this year

The good thing is,the timing of our injuries could be a blessing in disguise,we've had Matip,Lovren,Ox and Fabinho out for awhile now and have missed the busy christmas period, all should be well rested by now and on the verge of coming back to the first team by the end of the month/Feb (along with Shaqiri and Keita)plus Minamino added to the team, which should give our squad a boost for the important 2nd half of the season and CL run.

We are playing Everton on 5th, Spurs on 11th, Manu on 19th, Wolves on 23rd, Hammers on 29th, Soton on 1st.

Eventhough there is enough rest between games, I am a bit concerned here due to lot of injuries and so not convinced that the difficult period is over.

I always thought January was going to be a harder month after the christmas period but the rest days inbetween could be massive for us,not only that i think the form and injuries to our opponents could work in our favour aswell.

3 day rest to play Everton a home(cup game which we'll probably rest a couple of players, personally i don't like us losing but if we put out a weakened team and lose,i won't be that bothered,it's al about the PREM/CL for me,in that order).

6 day rest to play a Spurs team Away with no Kane and Ndombele.

8 day rest to then play a shit United at Home with no Pogba (which will be bad for us). They also have an extra game to play against Man city in the League cup aswell.

4 day rest to play a Wolves team Away which we've just beaten and have just lost to Watford.

6 day rest to play a West Ham Away who'll have lost their new manager bounce by then.

2 day rest to play probably our hardest game of the month at Home against Southampton.

By then we should have a few of our players back from injury and a week off to rest up and go again. We're going to fucking smash this.

The difficult period started at mid December and until now we have handled it perfectly.Spurs and United on paper are tough games but in reality these are 2 mid table sides which we should beat.I watched Spurs against Southampton and I dont see a reason why we shouldnt beat them.

The next 3 games will be the hardest to match last years results but what i take most from that board above is that we only lost 9 points from here till the end of the season. As much as i want us to go unbeaten i'd happily take that now if offered it.
