If he goes he goes.
I’m not too fussed. Too often he is the reincarnation of Igor Biscan.
If he stays then that’s ok as well.

@RedBaron here's a better conspiracy for you - Allegri to leave Juventus, Buvac to take over the reign after Can told Juve ranks the brain behind the entire Liverpool operation is down to him, and not Klopp. So if they want him, they will need to appoint Buvac to replace Allegri.... no coincidence that his signing for Juve and the departure of Buvac news broke pretty much around the same time.

How's that for a good story? Daily Mail and Mirror would have been proud..... lollollollol

Emre Can to Juventus story keeps coming up. I suspect that they will announce it after the CL game or by the weekend

£100k at Juve then, not bad for Italy and he will get what he wants. Less money than he wanted here (though not much less), but more trophies. Always thought this one was gone, but he was in no rush if he's one of those that can perform with this hanging over his head. He was good for us this season, would rather than he stayed, but not at all costs. Hopefully we get our replacement right.

Won’t cause me any ups or downs of he stays or leaves.
If he stay that’s fine, one less player to purchase and integrate into Klopps style of play.
If he goes he isn’t a top performer and hasn’t really been missed since being out injured other than one less body to rotate

The real kick in the balls for the club is seeing an asset, and a young one with improvement potential at that, leave on a free. What goes around comes around however and if we are delighted at getting a "contract rebel" on a free then we can hardly complain about Can running down his. Swings and roundabouts I suppose. I hope he gets fit before the end of the season and maybe plays some part in the CL final where we look destined to be really short of midfield players.

Id be surprised if he was to leave. This is most likely just a negotiating tactic.

Juventus cant even offer him a big wage.

I think we've known he's leaving for a while. Not shot his mouth off to the media, been thoroughly professional and baring his recent injury absence which seems a little odd, always been a willing trier. All the best Emre, never quite made the step up to the potential he sometimes showed but a handsome devil who I really enjoyed watching.

Whoa! Steady on there fella. Can might not have turned into a top drawer midfielder, or anything like one, but he was surely better than Igor Beckenbauer. I have to confess that I thought Biscan would become a very good player for us based on some of his early showings. Nothing world beating but what I thought showed quite a bit of promise for someone who was only about 22 and adapting to a foreign league. A couple of years later though and he's struggling to get a game, lagging behind the likes of Salif Diao FFS, as Houllier's transfer strategy fell apart. Maybe it was a case of wrong place wrong time for him or he just actually wasn't very good.

Can is expendable. The only thing I will miss about him is the lack of an incoming fee. Players come, players go. Ho hum. Sure they have some lovely boutiques in Turin and it's not too far from Milan.

I like Can. My only issue with him staying is that we might not get the players we still need (i.e. DM and a creative CM). We will have better players replacing him for sure, so I'm really comfortable with him off.

Also, I don't think he evolved as much as I thought he would do. We will be better served with Neves/Jorginho.

Good point about players coming in. We really need to off load Wijnaldum for that as well.
I like Can's physical presence which helped our back four even if his tracking back was lackluster at best. We will need to find that physicality somewhere imo and it has to be said our recent transfer activity hasn't shown the club is interested in doing so. Only Milner will be left to cover that outside our back four. In a league like the EPL that could leave us wide open against certain teams (thinking of Manure here they kicked our arse at old Toilet).

I also second that he hasn't pushed on as one might have wished. Shows some nice stuff here and there but hasn't a complete game like Henderson. This season, without Lallana, our midfield struggled at times until Milner really stepped it up.

I think we are going to need more than Kieta and Neves/Jorginho as Milners not getting any younger and Lallana might never get full fitness back.

I am pretty happy with our midfield options of henderson, milner, gini, lallana, ox,keita and throwing in youngsters for the mix. Can is good, could be very good but perhaps not as good as he might think he is. Great if he wants to stay, but if he does not see klopp's vision for the club, then all the best to him. In fact, i would rather he goes and we can get an option in the similar mould of Lallana who is injury prone and, who has some qualities like quick feet, intelligence and some neat passing and dribbling.

Hasn’t made the provisional Germany squad. I take it he’s still not over this back injury

Yep, Löw just said that Emre is now out since March and hasn't started running or some other fitness things so far. He is only able to do some kind of gymnastics.

I thought it was down to either Çan or Meyer and neither made it. At least Emré can concentrate on getting himself fit for club X's early season fixtures. Nice to see he wasn't one of the Turkish-German Erdogan sycophants in London. Spineless of Löw to nominate the culprits anyway today. Let's hope Özil 'rewards' him with his Arsenal form level next month.

I think we get it, you prefer the other midfielders over Can. But to go so far to say that Can makes us a worse team is perhaps a bit too far-streched IMO. For me there's no way to claim that either Wijnaldum, henderson or Milner are much better players or fit Klopps philosophy much more than Can and I've seen enough games to conclude that is not the case. Also It's a bit funny that you know more about Klopp's system and players fitting in than Jurgen himself. it's actually quite hilarious.
Milner > Can. You haven’t watched the champions league if you argue otherwise
