Pink Panther Strikes Again - Cato ?
Okay ..... okay ....... keep your shirt on ........ !
Careful now. 'The Grumpy one' is bordering on false representation....
Burt Kwouk! Was also very funny in his later years in Harry Hill's sketch show.
Sadly passed away in May this year.
It is a shame that the quality of humor is sliding, I keep being told watch this show/movie or that... I try but i just think.. its OK.(. I know "I am Old" but the Humor Today.. what from the last 10 years will be considered as Classics in 20 years? this is going to take this thread way of topic... sorry... I may, or someone else should start a thread in the relevant place for this question.
There's always optimism during the summers and it's not always justifiable. A year ago we were coming off a horrendous season with Rodgers not going anywhere. Yet there were still people hoping that we'd do better. Even more so after we signed Benteke.
This time around everything suggests that things have changed for the better. For once though it would be smart to remain grounded and not make wild dreams because, if knock wood, we start the season poorly then you can be sure that unbridled enthusiasm will quickly turn into vitriolic resentment and disappointment.
Let's just see where we are once the season starts instead of expecting the team to instantly live up to potentially unrealistic expectations.
Wild dreams ..... ?
.... Unbridled enthusiasm .... ?
.... Unrealistic expectations .... ?
Thanks for that ...... oh and speak for yourself!
I'd just rather look forward to this first full season under Klopp with enthusiasm and hope instead of criticising, whinging, moaning, bellyaching and whining.
I'm quite grounded thank you. I'm also realistic. And my 'wild dreams' don't involve Liverpool FC!
Given our first half-dozen fixtures I think it's reasonable to expect (but expectations can always be exceeded!) a bit of a rocky start... however I'm sure the season as a whole will be a good one for us.
I just hope that not too much knee-jerking goes on if we don't start the season with wins at the Emirates, White Hart Lane and Stamford Bridge...
why Liverpool signed georginio (skysports)
Wijnaldum's numbers for tackles (1.0 per game) and interceptions (0.7 per game) last season were unspectacular, but his economical and intelligent distribution is a valuable asset, and his pass success rate of 84.8 per cent was higher than any of Liverpool's central midfielders in 2015/16.
only three Liverpool players covered more distance per game than Wijnaldum last season. During game against lfc, the 25-year-old ran further (11.9km), made more sprints (71) and won possession (12) more times than any of his team-mates.
Wijnaldum vs Liverpool's top runners, Premier League 2015/16
Player Distance per game
James Milner 12.1km
Nathaniel Clyne 10.5km
Emre Can 10.2km
Georginio Wijnaldum 10.1km
Jordan Henderson 9.7km
That shows just how injured Hendo was.. Check his earlier stats.
I remember being convinced by my mate who played for Arsenal that Nigel Clough would "finally" bring the league back to Anfield.
This summer's positivity is different. I swear.
I will add that this isn't the way Suarez sees it.
Can't wait for this to be announced... and the weird part about it is that I don't think we need him.
But somehow I'm impatient for it to be done.
Ha. Same for me too.
I am actually quite anxious to see if he'll take the number 8 shirt. Seems quite logical, but will it give him too much pressure going into the season..
Ok, I know now why Kloppo wants him.
Jürgen always like midfielders with huge pass accuracy.
You mean like Joe Allen?
Allen was good on the end of the season, but not all season.
Klopp has said he's fine with us giving the ball away, because part of the pressing game is to push quickly in transitions and that means taking risks, but we also have the back up plan to win the ball back quickly again anyway.
His pass stats ate good. Tends to be the shot pass sideways / backwards rather that creative forward passes
Well, he is still not sold.
Sky sources: Liverpool have signed Georginio Wijnaldum from Newcastle United on a five-year deal
sky sports claiming its a done deal
5 years deal?
Great signing. More pace and class added to the side.
We're going places.
Taken the no5 shirt apparently, contrary to earlier reports.
I'll add quite a bit more. In the right thread.....
