OK,who is going to claim Konchesky?
@Scott Jones stated gently ( well it was a four page essay with 17 actual words and quite a few expletives) that it was not him
If the Makati Reds were still here they would simultaneously confirm and deny ( in the same sentence) that they called it.
As for Seri if we sign him and he does well he`s definitely mine and i expect a slice of any future sales from his agent.
If he`s shite he`s all yours baby :well done:

Ok, my mistake, Kante is 168cm, this guy is 165cm. No way he's good enough for us. He'd even give up height to Kante when the ball is in the air. Of course he may have a superior leap. Hope our scouts figure this out.

Fair comment about the height difference :well done:
But I think it may have been mentioned before about jumping abilities of different players and I refer you to previous questions on this matter......................

How high can he jump ;-)
Obviously we need pictures/videos and/or links to sites with the statistics:)

Mmm...I don't know. There's this:
Seri, who doesn't hide his ambitions to play for Barcelona, has always had Xavi as his idol and role model. "He is someone I looked at for a long time and analysed his game. Xavi has the ability to calm the game, not by voice but by what he does with the ball. He is thoughtful, makes simple but clever moves, and doesn't lose the ball.”
Read more at https://www.fourfourtwo.com/features/jean-michael-seri-meet-nices-classy-playmaker-being-linked-liverpool

Seri is so versatile that nobody really knows what his best position is. He can be a deep-lying maestro in the style of Andrea Pirlo, is frequently used as a box-to-box midfielder, and excels when positioned as a classical playmaker behind the strikers.

His passing abilities are continuing to improve and he wins his fair share of balls in defence. Seri also brags a decent shot from distance, and his free-kicks cause plenty of problems for the opposition. His character has proven to be positive in overcoming the early setback of being ignored at Porto, and the tendency to be critical of himself should enable him to progress even further.

And then there's this:

Seri might be lacking leadership qualities at this stage of his career. His influence tends to diminish when Nice are dominated by opponents, and he is not exactly the player to take the game on himself and shift the momentum. The Ivorian is a quiet person, and requires players who show fighting spirit and make their voice heard alongside him.

So he's on the small side but is very talented and able to play in a variety of roles. However, he's quiet and lacks fighting spirit, and not only that he wants to play for Barcelona some day. When would that be? Next summer?

Dislikes cold weather, gets chilblains and has ingrowing toe nails.

Pass.
Sounds perfect in the Barcelona midfield next to Paulinho!

Everyone wanted Plan b or c and now when we've finally got that rumour, we're looking for every little bit negative... because... "He can't be that good". ffs :eh?: Is he able to do a good job for us at least until Lallana is back? Probably yes from what I've seen so far. He needs special treatment? We are specialists in doing that ;-) Yes it's bit risky but there is always a reason if a player is "only" plan b or c, no? If it's not working he might play only in our away games in Madrid, Barcelona or Turin  or whatever, but he could also be the signing of the season in hindsight. You'll never know....

Best thing is he has a clause in his contract, so there is hope we won't f*** this up, time is running. Tick Tock

What could a midget from Ligue 1 possibly do in this league...
Obviously you watched a different match than I did on Sat because we got manhandled by Watford and Seri won't solve those problems.

And TBH, neither would Kante.

Kante is also a midget - won the league twice. Size matters but in the right places.
Look at the guys behind Kante on both teams he won with. Beasts of CB in the air. We don't have that balance, which is one reason why we ship so many goals on set pieces.

For such a tall man, Matip is a bit of softie esp in his own box. Has a talent for hitting crossbars tho

I don't think size is the biggest reason we ship goals from set pieces. We're not organised enough. 3rd goal against Watford was offside for one, but also shortest guy on the pitch - Gini - could've cleared it better off his head from a low ball. I think the standing around watching the opposition score in the chaos of the box is the issue and letting players into the box because midfielders are tardy with their marking and tracking and getting in line to defend.
Whether this guy is any use in the midfield matters less in terms of height. I like having a few big guys around, too. Don't misunderstand. I still think all this comes down to how these players are drilled to play when they don't have possession. Not enough I think.

It is a leadership issue and organizing on the pitch

As i said in the post-match, Klopp's role stops on the touchline. The players have to do the job come game time

But push comes to shove, he struggles to organize or lead beyond the basic duties of the armband. What the club needs is a solid leader on/off the pitch and his statement regarding Coutinho emphasizes that point. He obviously learned nothing from Gerrard

You're right, he won't solve our set pieces issues. But neither would Keita. That's probably why we've spent all summer trying to buy a big, tall centre back.

Of course if big and strong is all you want we could see if United are willing to sell Fellani

If it made you smile it may be worth it lol
He might be onto something: Barry would be a tragedy on the pitch but his thousand watt smile beaming over Anfield would surely generate enough heat to make Seri feel at home.

Sign them both up.

It isn't a big/tall.. It's about having a leader on the pitch, someone who can look at the defensive setup before tge play re-starts and recognize the mis-match. Fuck that mop headed bastard. Even if Henderson keeps the armband you need someone who will tsle on that responsibility and it's devoid of our current squad barring maybe Çan, Sakho?

This all leads back to the midget statement about Seri, it's more about the defensive abilities of Matic and what he would have brought to Anfield. Instead of having Henderson in the deep role essentially nullifying his engine which is his greatest talent, he is the B2B and frees up Coutinho for the trequarista position filling the gaps as an advanced playmaker.

I be surprised if Conte actually sanctioned his sale to United, from the way he talked about Matic move to United. Be not surprised to see United top of the table come spring now that they have a disciplined organizer shielding the two CB and keeping that fucktard Fellatio on the bench

I'd still go for Youri Tielemans over Seri, lad is a beast box to box. Has a hell of shot on him as well.

Thing is though, if Can was a leader he'd already be doing it. You're either a leader or you're not, the armband doesn't change that.

I'm not really one for debating whether or not a player who 99% of us have just heard of and had to Google and you tube to see if you think he is worthy.

Klopp isn't a fool and I totally trust his judgement.

Anybody who he will bring in Is somebody who would have been scouted and he would have given his stamp of approval on.

Trust in Jurgen

At the start of the summer these forums were a positive place- Phil was happy, VVD and Keita were about to join up for pre-season. Now we're debating the potential effects of chilblains on a midget midfielder!

It's like when you're getting wet in the rain and eventually get so drenched you just go 'fuck it' and don't get annoyed by it anymore.

I'm thinking along the lines of what Klopp said about no target being Plan B or Plan C and everyone we buy will be a Plan A target.

I don't think we are targeting this guy as a Coutinho replacement or Keita alternative.

Looking for some structure from his Dortmund set up as a guide I think the box to box role is very important to a Klopp team functioning well. Gundogan did it fantastic for him and I think Wijnaldum does it ok with potential to do it great. I think because of its importance he wants, ultimately, two great options for the role which is why he's all in on adding Keita to Wijnaldum. But I think he's realising he may need to wait till next year for that.

One other role he had there though was the one Sahin performed. For now he's got by with Henderson doing a combination of Sahin and Bender with Can able to do ok in that dual role too. But if he's not able to land Keita this summer maybe he's thinking of strengthening midfield by adding what would be the Plan A target for that role and waiting on Keita next summer as still the Plan A for that role.

Not sure if barking up the wrong tree or not but looking at his Dortmund midfield is it possible Henderson/Can = Kehl/Bender, Seri/Wijnaldum/Keita = Sahin/Gundogan and Lallana/Coutinho = Kagawa/Goetze/Mkhitaryan?

We can't sign Keita, so we're going after Seri.

I really think it's that straightforward (if our interest in him is real).

No they don't, the Mistral is a wind that blows down the Rhone valley. It does not go over mountains!
I know but Nice does not have mountains and is not that far from the Rhone Valley, anyway my point was only in reference to the player worrying about getting chilblains and that it is not any colder here than in Nice in winter although it will definitely be hotter in summer sorry I was not trying to be clever clogs and I did live in that area for a few years
