Liverpool's Naby Keita may face Man City despite back injury - sources
NAPLES, Italy -- Liverpool have refused to rule Naby Keita out of their game against Manchester City on Sunday even though he was taken to hospital after injuring his back in the 1-0 defeat against Napoli on Wednesday, sources have told ESPN FC.
Keita complained of serious back pain to Liverpool's medical staff when he went down injured 19 minutes into the Champions League defeat and was taken to hospital as a precaution.
Injured in a challenge with Lorenzo Insigne, Keita had to be taken off the pitch on a stretcher but was scheduled to return to Liverpool on the team flight on Thursday as preparations then begin for the game against City.
Heard shakiri won't be involved in the game because we were worried about the reaction he'll get over his goal celebration he scored for Switzerland against serbia in the world cup“We will take pretty much everyone. Clyney is ill and will not be involved, but Dejan and Naby are back in the travelling squad," he added.
“Hendo was close, but not close enough. He needs two proper sessions for his fitness, which he will get at Melwood, with Shaqiri and hopefully Clyney if he is back from illness. They both should be fine for the weekend.”
