I am starting to think Napoli forgot to show up and our lads are just playing a game of crossbar challenge and accidently scoring.
Always thought he was more a mid then a striker, is he the no 9 due to sheer lack of options?Nice to see him get a brace - I think he has a sneakily good amount of potential given his build, strength and pace but he just doesn't seem to get goals.
5 for the season now for him, 2 at U19s and 3 at U23.
Yeah basically - Elliott played as the central striker for a while but now they are trying Longstaff there. He has three goals in two games as a number nine in fairness to him.Always thought he was more a mid then a striker, is he the no 9 due to sheer lack of options?
It could have gone into double figures for us,apart from the usual Jones show the one player i've been super impressed with over the past few months is Nico Williams the kid is just geting better and better,i'd be very suprised if he doesn't break through into the first team and stake a claim for RB within the next couple of years.Finished 7-0
Jones x3, Longstaff x2, Cain, Dixon-Bonner
I don't think it is anything serious, Jones made a point of hugging Elliott after his 2nd goal.
I can only guess that Koumetio was injured and so the 18s didn't have another defender so Hoever had to drop down.Surprising Hoever was in the 18s especially in the absence of Van den Berg in the 23s. Disappointing from the 18s but Parrott is a Ireland senior international playing down in the u18s so it was a difficult task for a very young u18s side.
Harvey Elliott withdrawn early as Liverpool U23s fall to heavy defeat at Spurs
Yeah hopefully nothing serious for the lad with him guaranteed first team action.Just read this on TIA, hope that it is a nothing story related to Elliott (losing 4-0 cannot be nothing though).
Surprised they didn't knock one in their own net at the end to match the senior team's results...U18s 5-1 Derby
DaviesCain x2, O'Rourke, Stewart and OG
Bradley Quansah Savage Beck
Cain Clarkson Corness
Balagizi O'Rourke Morton
Subs: Hewitson; Rodrigues, Wilson, Stewart, Walls
Just seen the highlights of this and the U23s were screwed over big time.Yeah hopefully nothing serious for the lad with him guaranteed first team action.
Not seen the defeat yet but Spurs had two penalties within 3 minutes of us going down to 10 men (Boyes red card) and then scored in the 94th minute so might not be a fair reflection of the game.
