Hope it happens.
Cheeky swap for Danny Blind and Fosu Mensa? LB, RB and DM covered.
That's the thing though. I know United won't want him. Mourinho has worked with Mario before, at Inter Milan. He knows how Mario trains, how he plays, what he's like at team dinners and stuff. Off the field, Jose may like Mario as a person, the fact he was seen having dinner with the guy and offering him advice recently is evidence of that. But as a manager, Balotelli is every managers nightmare. Even Mourinho's. And he's just got his supposedly dream job. He doesn't need a Balotelli sized headache screwing things up for him at Old Toilet.
Not going to happen. Mourinho met Mario for dinner recently to give the lad some advice on how to resurrect his career. That's it. Nothing more.
But from that, the stupid British and Italian press get these nonsensical ideas of a transfer.
Mourinho called Balotelli "uncoachable". Funny but IMO there's no way the link is true.
Bugger that, I say let him go for free - the fireworks associated with having Belotelli Ibrahimovic, Pogba, Rooney and Jose all in the 1 dressing room are surely worth a free transfer
I'm just beginning to think that come 8/31 he will still be a Red.
Who paid for it?
Echo and The Guardian (haha, this sounds cool!) are reporting that he's in talks with FC Sion over loan move. Well done to transfer committee, AC Milan and everyone involved for making such a mockery of us in transfer market again and helping us lose some 20 million pounds.
Mamadou Sakho and Mario Balotelli close to Anfield exit
Liverpool are in talks to offload two of their highest-profile outcasts, with Mario Balotelli and Mamadou Sakho the subject of firm inquiries.
Balotelli is earning £80,000 a week as an expensive reserve so the Merseyside club will be hoping the French and Swiss interest firms up into a substantial offer.
Might be something in this now with both Sion and Nice reported to be interested, hopefully one of them comes through and we can move Mario on.
Dare say it will be a free transfer with possibly even a payoff from us to lower his wage demands at his next club but would take that. At this point it's best if we both move in different directions.
Nice have already dismissed any interest according to L'Equipe. Favre said that he hadn't seen the player on TV since years, and didn't even know whether he had played a game last season. This is a no-go.
Sion and their lunatic president on the other hand are definitely interested. But I can't see super-Mario taking his Ballon d'Or dreams to Switzerland to be fair...
You could offer him a room?
Hmm, I've just seen those quotes from Favre but I've also just seen James Pearce tweeting that Nice are definitely in for Balotelli and that Liverpool will get some money for him, he's just not sure how much. I think that their new owners are looking for a marquee signing and what better way to attract attention than signing Balotelli, right?
If Nice are not interested, why has Mario flown out there?
I don't know. I've been told that Nice is a very nice city to visit...
Yeah have a niece stays at Nice.... she said that too.
Balotelli's contract with Liverpool expires next June.
So or so he is going to leave.
Sooner or later.
We should maybe enquire on a px for Pulisic it surely cant hurt
Now the press are saying that he has rejected Nice in favour of Palermo, who don't have money to buy him or pay his wages. If he doesn't take a pay cut, things could get messy.
We'll end up terminating his contract and get nothing for him. Then if he wants to continue his career as a footballer, he'll have to take whatever someone is willing to offer.
Once the window closes, if we still have a healthy balance i can see the club just paying him off anyway, just to get closure on this deal. Him spending a year on loan at Palermo while we pay his salary probably is virtually the same thing.
Palermo make Mario Balotelli offer, waiting to hear from Liverpool
Balotelli is out of favour on Merseyside and almost certain to leave before the transfer window closes next week. He has been linked with several clubs in Italy, including Crotone and Sassuolo, but Palermo have emerged as strong candidates to bring the Italian back to his birth city.
"It's a very fascinating proposition," Micchiche told La Gazzetta dello Sport. "It's a very difficult operation, but we're trying. It would be a great coup for president [Maurizio] Zamparini, a gift for all of the fans.
"We've made an offer and now the ball is in Liverpool and the player's court. His salary is high and he has a pool of sponsors, so it's not an easy solution, but Palermo could be just the right place for him.
"He was born in Palermo and we consider him a citizen of Palermo. This city would welcome him with open arms -- he would be adored here. A player like him would be a dream for Palermo and he could be the leader of this team."
Balotelli -- whose family name is Barwuah -- spent only the first months of his life in Sicily before moving to Brescia, where he was adopted and brought up away from his biological parents by the Balotelli family.
The 26-year-old has played for Inter Milan and AC Milan in Italy and Manchester City and Liverpool in England, with Palermo bidding to become his third address in Serie A, and bidding to bring him back home.
Best thing we can do is probably to sell him to someone for next to nothing but then include a bunch of sell-on and performance clauses to hopefully gain some more money down the line. That at least has a little bit of upside.
No point loaning him out with us heavily subsidising his wages as that has zero upside.
Liverpool Football Club.
As I said two years ago we pay him to be half arsed somewhere else until he fucks off for free at the end of his contract. Many transfers are hard to predict, some work others are failures. I thought Morientes would be stonking success for one. This one was totally predictable sadly. Hopefully we have learned and move one.
Palermo want Balotelli BUT they will cut his salary (€5,3m per season) as it's too high for them.
Sorry, the link is in German.
So we will end up compensating his salary, Bye Mario it wasnt fun
So Palermo not wanting to pay full but we could subsidise since we are not going to have to pay full wages for him, it's the savings that counts now. Then you have him flown to Nice to talk to the club ranks, and it didn't turn out very well. Who in the right fucking mind would take Balotelli with them to discuss a deal, and thinking the outcome will be favourable? Idiot! This is what you get from a salesman who sells things that sold itself, no need to think, strategise and pitch. Dumbass....
So to Mr. Balotelli..... prove the doubters wrong, move to Palermo, take a fucking pay cut! If not you can kiss your footballing career goodbye and probably need to ask all your mates to give you back them money you gave them, them watches you bought them, the ferraris you own.
As Russell Peters would say..... "Do the right thing! Be a man!"
