Hope in your heart

Loyalty and patience, two undervalued concepts.

What a fucking untidy game, but we could expect nothing else, especially after conceding an early goal. The return game will be ninety more minutes of this shite, and our players will have to find a way through. And do things much, much better than tonight, otherwise it will be bye bye CL. Zero shots on target tonight...

Ninety minutes of non-football, and a totally wasted evening. Bah... fortunately football isn't often like that anymore for us, but I pity the Atletico fans. Their 'brand' of football is absolutely horrible to watch.

This is going to be a tougher comeback than 3-0 against Barca, because they are not defensively and mentally shit like them. But hey, the league has been piss easy so need some excitement this season.

Anfield will do it. As always. And we won't need an orchestrator to make it bounce. Write us off at your own peril Pathetico, because it's going to be shit scary.

P.s. The Howard Webb in a shitty disguise can go fck himself.

Imagine having to watch that shite every week. Basically WWE. Never seen as much play acting and crying. For all it’s faults the Premier League is enjoyable to watch. That was just horrible.

Can’t wait to tank the shithouses in the 2nd leg

Got nothing and probably didn’t deserve anything.
Passing was sloppy, crossing was awful, 0 shots, odd subs and just all round poor performance.
I think Jurgen settles for 1-0 at half time.
The ref was awful but you have to get used to that in Europe.
Need an early goal in 2nd leg.

6 days rest before our next game. Not sure if that’s a good thing.

They were massively cynical, as expected. The ref bought a lot and gave them loads of free kicks. They knew how to foul.

Everything was as expected/feared. We were schooled in the dark arts there.

Very tricky at Anfield now.

Bad performance by all except wijnaldum and robbo.
We did not even test their GK.
bizzare subs.
Horrendous referring.
We still have the return leg at Anfield to fuck these cunts.

What's most frustrating is that we played right into their hands by conceding so early. Of all sides, you cannot give them an early goal. Fabinho was unlucky with the deflection but we still should have done better.

Referee was shocking, an absolute disgrace. I didn't think anyone could compare to the Flamengo guy, but he was close.

Dominated the ball, but, crazy enough, we could have lost by more. We have Morata to thank for missing two big chances.

Hate losing games, kind of forgot what it felt like. This will keep us hungry — not that we need motivating, but it'll give us an extra kick the next time we step out onto the pitch.

Could have done with some magic in midfield, seemed to have no clue how to break them down. Not sure anyone stood out as MOTM.

You just have to be first to everything from the first whistle in cup games. Trying to slow things down before the game has started will always cause problems. No MOTM for me. Generally most of the team did o.k. for 85 minutes but no one stood out.

Tough night not helped by play acting and the ref giving them everything, even the manager getting away with coming out of his technical area and sometimes on the pitch. Still fancy us to go through at Anfield. Need a stronger ref and hostile crowd. A rare off day at the office for the boys. Go for the jugular at Anfield!

Well played to us!
Was not mentioned to be today for us but the desire and passion was matched with diving antics never seen in my life before.
The ref decisions were Atkinson esque!
A big mention to our away Fans!
Can’t wait for the second leg!

Ref was shocking to say the least we played into their hands (but we did that on purpose as they have to come to our house for the second leg and they won't have the Ref defending them like tonight)
Alison MOTM, we are going to destroy them in second leg so badly destroy them it will become as well known as the Bible.

Didn’t deserve anything in all honesty. The quality of our football was poor. TAA didn’t get a cross past the first defender until the 90th minute and then he did it with his left peg. Everything was slow and predictable. Big performance at Anfield is required now.

Not sure why anyone is surprised. Atletico were always going to be playacting and doing their shenanigans. The onus was on us to keep our heads, which clearly didn't happen - starting with Mané forcing Klopp to remove him at half time.

That said, though I thought the referee was good in the first half, he was central to how the game disintegrated in the 2nd half. There were at least 4 times we won the ball cleanly in tackles, only to be whistled for a foul. Atletico players duly followed and suckered him in.
