Well....I thought we played well and deserved to win. Could have been a hatful if Mo was on his ‘A’ game but it didn’t matter in the end. Another fine result.
This is going to the wire. Just in case anyone else hasn’t said it...is Brendan finally going to win us a title by holding City with his mighty Fox’s?

Fuck Yessss!
MOTM Wijnaldum, in and out of the game in the 1st half 2nd half performance much better yet making the difference where others had failed was key to us. Brilliant strike hope that gets him ticking back to his mid season form.

Any one questioning Salah's penalty will be asking for trouble. They obviously didn't see Morrison's rip back on Salah's right shoulder with his left hand. The ref did!

Bwahahahahahahaha.... that penalty should fuck things up real bad for Warnock now. I gave my man of the match to Wijnaldum, that strike was something else, level of difficulty for someone who is so shy of taking a shot, is unbelievable. Coupled with his celebration, the man teared up while screaming with joy. Loving that bit, and it meant so much for him that I had to give him the man of the match. Not a foot wrong in his game either.

There's only one team interested in playing football, while another just turned up hoping to get a point. Fuck them. We won... and how about that Milner old-man walk?

88 fucking points. That's our best ever return in the PL era and we still have another 9 points to claim.

The game itself was nothing to write home about. Cardiff are quite simply shit and deserve to go down, even more so with their cuntish tactics of no ball boys and keeping the surface as dry as that.

We didn't put in a great performance, in fact at times Cardiff dragged us down to their level, but the disparity in quality between the two teams was just too big for any other result.

Really nice goal by Wijnaldum too.

My word, these games shred the nerves, dont they? Just to get the MoTM out the way as I normally forget, has to be Matip for me.

In the first half especially when Bobby missed that glorious chance, I was thinking if this wasnt going to be our day. Cardiff didnt help by being very organised, hard working and not watering the pitch to inhibit our play. Course, they are entitled to do what they want with the pitch but I dont like to see it (and yes, even the fiasco we had at Anfield with the snow in the Leicester game!).

In truth, I didnt see much changing in the 2nd half but it all changed with Trent's corner that saw Gini run onto it and hammer the ball into the net. What a relief and what a rare gem by Gini. I think that's his first away goal in the league or maybe the 2nd? That ball really could have gone anywhere the way we were being poor at finishing.

OK, no doubt all the fans who dont want us winning the title will complain about the pen but come on, how can a defender man handle an opponent in the box and not be a pen even if the opponent stays on his feet? In an age when the ball striking a defenders hand in the box is now supposed to be a pen (city exempt, ofcourse!) I dont see how anyone can have any arguments. The man handling stopped Mo for using the ball he had control of and the defender made no attempt to play the ball.

Up stepped Mr Dependable James Milner and at 2-0 I started to relax. It is good to see we shut up shop and just kept the ball from then on although there were a couple of moments when we still put ourselves under a bit of pressure. My heart rate is starting to come down now and Im looking forward to Friday night's game. I just wish it was still in our hands and not dependant on city dropping points.

Milner told Sky the celebration was for Virgil as he always calls him an Old Man- love the team spirit!

F**k off Warnock hopefully he'll retire and take his pre-historic football with him. Tried to be shit houses today time wasting, dry pitch, no ball boys and still got nothing. What a strike from Wini and something they suggested in changing room at half time, our players growing up. Loved Jimmys celebration .... 3 more to go

Negatives first:
Opportunity wasted to close the GD gap to City. Firmino, Mane, Salah and Henderson had very good and clear chances to score.
First thing I thought about. Yes, get the win, but they, they need to stop wasting golden opportunities. Could have easily scored 5, possibly 7.

For me, it was a penalty.
There was game in the last couple of days where a player (maybe spurs) got impeded but stayed on his feet and missed the chance.

Warnock is a total embarrassment and sad thing is it'll continue the line that BBC started and all the media have bought into. That being Salah is a diver. It's as blatant a penalty as you will ever see. But he's not white and he's not English so he's a cheat. They did the very same to Suarez. Our upstanding white Englishmen would never behave like that its those damn foreigners with their dark skin cheating and profiting. The English media are a bunch of racist cunts feeding the masses who believe this shit.

I never really panicked during that 90 mins, they made it tough for us but we got the result we deserved, matip was excellent, Fabs and Jordan skying chances could have been game over much earlier, pressure back on city hope Utd get a result on Wednesday and we go on to win it. :celebrating:

At first I voted Big Virg as my MotM, but then giving it a little thought I changed and voted for Matip because he hardly put a foot wrong.

After match interview with Wallnut and him complaining about Robbo pulling on Morrison's shirt and yet he saw nothing wrong with the same player trying to drag Mo's shirt off his back. He's a bloody hypocrite.

That was an historic win. Even with us losing all our remaining games, 88 points beats both of the best ever two seasons that had still been the benchmark before today. Adjusted to 3 points for a win and after 38 games of 42 in 78-79 we would have had 86 points. And after 38 of 40 in 87-88 we had 86 points in the bag. The BBC has just tried hard to suggest that this was our third best ever season in their website stream and as professional as ever, just did half a job on the maths.

EDIT They didn't even mention 2008-09 when we got 86 pts with no maths needed

This forum has gone to pot. How on earth can a defender be MOTM when we had 85% posession of the ball?
A midfielder scored the most important goal of the season so far whilst our strike force was failing.
All I can say is a lot of you aren't onthe right medicine. :-(

Do we have something that any time two teams being so close have both got these many number of points between themselves? This could be one record season about that.
