Well, a hard fought game, but we came out with three points. Going up against Chelsea away is always a tough game, and so it proved. I know many will be frustrated at the performance in the last 30 mins (me included), but at least we weathered it and came out unscathed. Good signs.

By dint of being clinical in the first half, we got a nice two goal lead. Two beautifully worked goals straight from the training pitch. Chelsea targeted the space mostly behind TAA, and we never really countered it. Gini had one of his (albeit getting super rare now) quiet games, and I felt that Jordan had to cover him throughout the game. Hence I felt Gini should’ve made way in the 10 minute period leading up to the Chelsea goal.

And what a goal it was by Kante. An outstanding player, but he really ups his game against us time and time again. We were almost at strolling pace during that period, and Fabinho, who had an otherwise excellent game, didn’t put the effort in to make it difficult for Kante. The lesser spotted Adam coming on for Jordan was puzzling to say the least. With OX, Gomez, and others on the bench, don’t think any one of us would’ve put Adam on.
The front three were stifled up front, but they worked hard tracking back, with both Salah and Mane making full back cover runs many times.

The final 10 mins were frustrating, as rather than doing aa simple pass and keeping possession, we seemed to try to play little dinks and cute passes to players, which Chelsea cut off and came straight back at us. Anyway, six wins from six. Play a youth and fitness team for the midweel League Cup game, and then concentrate again on the next Prem game.

Clinical first half. Second half started well, the game could have been put away but it was not to be. With time, Chelshit grew bolder but the mighty Reds were able to hold them off. 3 points taken. Salah was very disappointing, it seems he is trying too hard. Onwards we march.

Since when refs worry about time wasted?

How are we going to be able to bench Adrian when our number 1 is back from injury?? The guy's attitude and performances have been nothing but top-notch since he joined us, especially given the short time he's had to work with the defence. A HUGE upgrade over Mignolet, had it been him during this stretch, we would have max 12 or 13 points instead of the 18 we've had.

What a game that was for the old nerves. Steel in our players' hearts and boots. Credit where it's due for that second half by the opposition. Made a game of it, they did. Typical cancerous Chelsea supporters and club heirarchy going to be unhappy tonight.

Adrian Matip and Fabinho have been stand out performers for a couple of weeks now.

Also, earlier every cross in the box used to scare the shit out of me including any corners. It doesn't feel that scary anymore, you know either of Matip and VVD will head it out. Except that one Batshuayi header maybe, but very less than what our earlier back line made us sweat.

Shit we were poor second half......but....what a three good points. So many of the lads had a poor second half but the worst culprit was Mo. He just didn't have a clue. Will have to massively improve on this showing but lets take the three points and move on. Gave Matip my vote for a strong performance.

Honestly we did not play well at all. But the difference is we took our bloody chances when we had them and we grind out the results. It was important to win after Man City went on a high of 8 goals but a result like this, so close but yet so far for them, against a top 6 competitor would dampen their morale a bit, even at this early stage of the season.

Really? They had three or four chances, and we’re only denied by fine margins. We were very lucky to see out that second half.
Really 4 chances I disagree the mitsui batshuayi was only one which looked close.
