That was far easier than I expecte, it could have been double that score, Rodgers talked a lot about the game before it happened but we done our talking on the pitch and played them off the park, I thought we would tire midway through the second half but it was Leicester who tired, well done to the team and Mr Klopp.

We've had a season and a half of near excellence now , but that performance today was bordering on absolute perfection. Anyone who doubts that this team are going to be crowned champions come season's end are a part of a rapidly diminishing number.

Hendo motmagain for me , for what seems like the last ten games now. I'm sorry I ever doubted you skipper.
I raise my hand and admit, i always thought Henderson was not good enough. Also Gini for that matter, Well i will never ever doubt our captain ever again. If there is a player who will fight for Liverpool with everything he got, That will be Henderson. I only wish he is not hurt badly, and continue to captain us to the title which he will very very deservedly lift.

According to Kasper they were in the game until the ref decided to "make himself a hero". Blatant penalty, no doubt at all.

What a cock. Does he actually believe that tripe?

That was a footballing lesson Kasper and don't forget it.:ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:
One of the most unpleasant people in the PL, just ask Ranieri, he is a true son of his father.

When we have finally reached half way in this season with 52+? pts on Sunday, what will be clear is that the second half played with the same belief and intensity will win us the league irrespective of City's possible run in. For teams playing us who are not in a relegation battle, especially if they watched how we played against Leicester twice and City, 50% of the mental battle will be lost before they go on the pitch.

I think there was a period when it was perhaps perfectly valid to question Hendo's place in the first team, and by association, his captaincy, but for some time now he's shown every time he's on the pitch that his commitment and fight for this team is every bit as much as any captain that came before. For me he has answered every question and proved every point.

There's no shame in admitting a bad call, we're all probably guilty of at least one.

FROM THE KING POWER STADIUM, LEICESTER END.

Excited about this all day. Went to a pub full of lfc fans - away days are great. Missed this.

Belief. We are back. You could sense it.

And to the stadium. Giving free beer for Leicester fans - don’t mind if we do.

And to our seats. We will stay quiet. Keep ourselves to ourselves. Daughter had her lfc hat but packed it away.

Bang 1st half. All over them. A slick machine.
Have to take our chances 1st half. Finish this off. Never safe at 1-0.

2nd half. Bang, bang, bang.

Travelling kop in beautiful voice.

Champions of the world, champions of the world... now you’re gonna believe us, now you’re gonna believe us, champions of the world.

Love it.

I'm gasping for air after that. Rarely has the expression "different class" had more meaning. Is this the very best Liverpool side of all time? Certainly in my lifetime only the 87/88 team can compete.
It's tough to call that, but certainly in my memory this this is the best I can remember. And I don't say it lightly. There is something special here though that emanates from Jurgen. Three European finals in 3 years, 3 trophies in 2019, a massive fucking chance for the elusive 19th next year.

This is a special time, a special team and a special manager.

That’s exactly what Jurgen is on about when he says “Believe”.
Jurgen and his staff watch these lads all week. They monitor their diet. They check up on them when they’re on holiday. When the starting eleven is announced pre match sometimes I’m surprised. But guess what? The fella seems to know what he’s doing.

I couldn’t pick a winning team if my life depended on it.

But I know someone who can.

He’s just become the manager of the WORLD CHAMPIONS.

Yup, you're preaching to the converted. ;)

I didn't truly understand until the Barca game (as said in my previous post) but now there's nothing I don't believe this team can do.

The Barnes/Beardsley team were better aesthetically I would argue. Lovely, stylish football, almost Brazilian in style actually. But football at the top level has changed dramatically in the last 30 years. It's now quicker, more athletic, more scientific, more mentally demanding. This present side has skill to burn but also operates at FTL speed. It would press the 87-88 team off the park. Two great LFC sides in two very different eras.

The best I've seen us play all season. Well done to Hugo; bossed the center of the park all night. I've given him quite a bit of stick in my time, and it was fully deserved, but Hugo was outstanding tonight. MoM, there was only one, TAA. The best right-back in world football at 21, outstanding lad.
Hugo? Did we sign someone over Christmas that I missed out on?
