Half time, 3-0, JK probably learning from his mistakes of the past, taking a strong lead and then loosing it all in the second half. Took off Shaq to ensure a decent win. I thought Shaq was class, but get why the boss made the decision.

Too many times in the past under JK did we throw two points away in a game. Well happy with today.

Comfortable 3 points, thank you lads.7 on the trot, can't let Chelsea stuff that up.
Shaq,Motm for me,only played 1/2 a game but a pretty good half,he was causing serious problems for Southampton.
Great to see Mo on the scoresheet and smiling again.
Robbo on song again, what a steal that lad has been.

Our unbeaten run is going to come to an end sooner or later. I’m just not looking forward to the fallout on here when it does! :-( :((

Me, I’m just happy with the way things have gone so far, realistic about what comes next and looking forward to the rest of the season under this great manager! :well done:

Massive performance.
Still feel we have yet to reach our best yet.
We are maybe 60% of our maximum.
The beauty about us is, every one gives a Solid 8/10.
Voted for matip as man of the match.
He was good. Credit goes to Virgil, the confidence he has given matip and gomez is evident.
Gomez looks top notch at CB, if he plays like this, he will probably overtake VVD in the coming years.
And what about powercube!!
We now have TAA, powercube and miner for set pieces. They are quality.
Poor clyne has no chance in the first team now!
Lets put a decent squad against chelsea in midweek.
Up the reds!!

Not that I think we are playing poorly, has been enjoyable to watch this season.

I don't feel like we will see the free-flowing attacking play this sesson. Klopp's removal of Shaqiri today shows how he values discipline in the system. Whether it be tactics or simply not following direction, he was pulled for a reason. Up 3-0 and all subs early...

That was as relaxed as I’ve been in a long long time watching a Liverpool game.
We’re winning games at a canter, which is great. Now we just need to continue to show that we can amp up the heavy metal football when we need to against the top sides, whilst also continuing to show such controlled performances against the lesser sides.
Happily, we’ve defeated both Spurs and PSG without truly playing at our peak performance yet (at least not in terms of ruthlessness in front of goal).

Hoping we again rotate 3-4 players for the midweek cup game against Chelsea. Would only be deserved to see another start for Shaqiri, this time as part of the front 3, as well as starts for Sturridge, Keita, a full debut for Fabinho, and to rest VVD’s ribs with another start for Matip alongside Gomez at the back. Heck, maybe 5-6 changes, if you’d consider giving games to any of Clyney, Moreno, or Migs.

Albiet against the Saints. Matip and Gomez worked decently together too as did him and VVD. Maybe it's the case of Matip being given the full 90 minutes instead of bringing him on at the 90th minute ?

delighted with the win, Mo smiling and among the goals, and the table looking good. Only discomfort was sometimes our passing was too soft and led us to losing possession. But, if the scoreline is the same for every single game we play this season, then I can live with that discomfort.

I think we let our passing slip in the second half, almost always underhit IIRC; which makes sense if your gaffer has told you to take your foot off the gas at half-time!!

Is this political forum now? And which tout did he get his ticket off?
Big Tony outside The Albert, but he did have to pay over the odds for it. I'm not political in any way, but give the fella his due. He was offered a hospitality ticket for his beloved Arsenal against the blue 5h17e, but decided to take his chances on getting a spare for our game instead.

Really running out of superlatives to describe this team. Maybe it's been overstated, but injuries and overconfidence are the only things capable of derailing our season. I am in dreamland at the moment!
There are so many things to admire about our side and most of them have been mentioned plenty of times, but I think the highlights of the season so far have been Milner's form and the rising star of one Joe Gomez. What a player he could turn out to be!

I think we are free flowing, it's just that our.conversion rratio is a bit low.
I see salah and firmino doing lots of track back and defending, our style of play has been tweaked, we are calculative going forward.
If our front 3 conversion improves, which I'm sure it will, we would be scoring 4/5 goals easily against weaker teams.
Our aim now is to be very close behind the leaders or even lead till December. Then things become very interesting.

Yet another quality performance. Everyone again performed with credit. Good to see Mo net a couple but I still feel that shoulder is a bit of a problem. He seems a bit wary of getting it bashed again.

Man of the match -- absolutely Klopp all the way. he controlled it from start to finish. Brilliant tactical performance.

Klopp playing Shaq down the center was brilliant thinking. I suspect Salah, & Many will each score 30 goals this season and Bobby maybe 20. Hendo looks set to play midfield sweeper.

This is the first game of the season, were I saw LFC correctly passing the ball , through the correct lines of attack, in a consistent manner throughout the game. The right players, running and playing through the correct lines of attack. -------- The frame work for this statement is, LFC winning a couple of trebles and a couple of European cups in the next 10 years. Like our past glory years. My writings and posts are nothing to do with analysis on a game by game basis. That does not interest me.

Yesterdays game, gave some indication of what we will see over the next 5 years; but it is going to get much better and by many orders of magnitude; and it will start very soon.

Klopp has the squad and the players have the individual skill sets required.

They say last year, LFC was fast on the break and played well.

As this team gets tuned up, (maybe 4 weeks more) it will be like last year but, super turbo charged. I can not think of any words to explain what I see coming. But I would explain it by the following picture:

Imagine 2 Kevin Keegans and 2 King Kennys running at the goal at the same time; with 3 good back up players in support; and 2 steve highways on the wing; and Tommy Smith last man standing with clemence in goal.

And they are all playing in sync and many of them are young. With Shankley on the sideline !

How the hell anyone will stop this team is beyond me !

This team will have the Kop, rocking and rolling, singing " poetry in motion "

Unfortunately, we have to deal with Chelsea first; these will be the hardest games of the season, especially when LFC is still in tune up mode !

Good luck to the Redmen !

Got to Run !

We did what we had to do and won without hitting top gear.

I was pleased to see Matip come back looking better than recently, it's important to have good quality depth at centre back. Also good to see Gomez come on and do well alongside another partner, not just VVD. Maybe it's just Lovren and Matip that aren't great together.

Very pleased with Shaqiri, looks a good option for attacking midfield against bus parkers, or front three when required.

The formation was a bit weird, with some changes in the normal positioning of the front three, plus their wastefulness is a concern. Other top clubs have clearly taken note of the part goal difference played last season and we need to ensure we score as many as we can, although keeping solid is also a key part of that. Mo isn't himself, really hoping there isn't a long term fitness issue there.

Keita is clearly having a struggle with things, he shows glimpses but isn't the immediate hit we expected. That's ok, as it was a step up in clubs and a new league, and the main midfield three are at their peak ages. It'll be important to give Keita 90 midweek.

Hoping Fabinho's debut on Wednesday also kick starts him, as midfield is clearly our way of dominating matches and it will need plenty of rotation.

I thought that Matip played well especially taking into account the length of time he was out injured and the fact that he had to play alongside 2 different central defensive partners yesterday. Also, having seen his header again it was a fabulous finish. Mind you I’m not sure what Southamton’s defence was doing at the time but that’s not to take anything away from Matip.

I sense that Klopp actually used the second half as a tactical ‘experiment’. The first half presumably went at the very least to plan and its almost as if he was testing our ability to close a game out once we were in that position. As for Shaqiri I thought he was excellent and is already proving to be a key member of our first team squad despite his limited amount of minutes so far.

Despite how well we’re playing I do sense that our winning run will come to an end over the next couple of matches. If that happens it shouldn’t take any of the shine off our run so far and I expect us to get back to winning ways very quickly. I feel extremely confident about the way Klopp is developing and controlling things. This time our re-emergence as a top, top side is for real.

Me having that Feeling klopp changed a bit the game Plan to last year cortesy of Fighting in all fronts this year and Keep the most of first 11 with less fuell go all the way and when required the luxery bench will be called upon. Our front three and middfield are well tuned to keep the Goalie as much as a spectator as it can be no matter the opponent. once they come to press us then well that tottenham game or better the second half of it showed whoever Comes to our faces will get brutally counter attacked. I see us going all the way in premier league and Champions league this year without *if * word inbetween. i do see us once we have got the better of chelskis and man hure+citeh not coming down from the top anymore this year.
p.s. and yes the Lotto numbers are for this week Champion league 1 st place premier league 1 st place the rest im not gonna tell ya:celebrating:

Matip deserves far more praise than he's got in the last 21 hours, and Shaqs perhaps a bit less. It didn't escape Hendo on the pitch that he wasn't sticking to the defensive duties every new player's been internalising over the last months.

Absolutely. And if Shaqiri wants to be anything more than impact player from the bench and play the full 90 minutes in big matches then defensive duties are a prerequisite under Klopp.

Well spotted on the Hendo/Shaq exchange. I'd forgotten about that, but thought at the time that Jordan was carrying out the Captain's role well.
