As per my above post.
I'll watch the incident again later. I'd like to know who gave the foul. From where I sit in the MS, it looked like the Ref had given the goal and his assistant on the far side was making his way to the half way line for a restart. There was a pause before the ref started waving his arms and went across to where our lads were celebrating.
Linesman definitely though it was a goal by the way he ran back to the halfway line. I assume the guy behind the goal called a foul

This is a goal if VAR had been in use.

JK got everything right. Tactics, substitutions, team selection. For a press-a-thon he was always going to go with Gini, Milner and Henderson. The best in the business on nights like this. All were equally magnificent. Sturridge changes the dynamic up front but he still knows where the goal is and he worked harder than I've seen him work in years. 90 minutes is a bit much for him these days but Firmino is not a bad sub to bring on to score the winner. The hooking of Salah was brutally timed but necessary. In his current state of mind I think he would have tried to make amends for his mistake by doing it all himself. Shaqiri was calm when he came on and popped up all over the pitch. I am intrigued to see him get a full run out.

When they scored just before half time I expected them to come at us in the second half but they couldn't. It was much like the Spurs game. In possession they looked slow and unimaginative but that was because there was no way through. We are so well organised now without the ball. You can only go long or hope for a mistake. Unfortunately Salah made a mistake. He is struggling but we've won six games in a row during which he has scored 2 goals and not played well. This is a very good sign for the team as a whole.

He's not getting a lot of love in the man of the match poll but Andy Robertson was sensational last night. He plays like the fan on the pitch which is why we all love him but his technical ability is criminally under-rated. Some of his passing was sublime and he is becoming an assist machine. That cross on to the head of Sturridge was simply brilliant.

Henderson was immense.

Never fails to amaze me how Klopp gets these shouts right most of the time. Every fan moaning about Keita being dropped on the Twitter. Henderson showed why Klopp was right.

Fantastic start to the CL. A little disappointed we let them back into it, 3-1 wouldnt have been an unfair result.

Might of already been mentioned but what’s actually going on with salah at the minute? His body language isn’t right at all, he seems so switched off. I’ve seen a few people mention about mane & him not working together but never really thought much of it until last night when mane could of pulled it back to salah to stick in the net. Also has anyone seen the video of him chucking a bottle in anger when bobby scored the winner? Seems a little strange, unless he was still pissed off with himself for letting PSG back into the game?

In his post match presser (which left me puzzled as to why did he give out so much info) he mentioned that he knows PSG is going to go tight in the middle after half way through the first half. He made the middle of the park a bit more congested and try to hit them on the wing by pushing the fullbacks up. We as fans watching the match could see the reasoning, Mbappe and Neymar not keen on back tracking to help out the defence, while Cavani didn't mind doing the dirty work. So if we go in and attack through the middle, we will get caught on possession and they could counter from the middle of the park with ease.

Tactic was perfect, and if it wasn't for two misplaced passes and one blind referee at the byline, we probably would have walked out of that match with a cleansheet. I am still worried about Salah's form and I think our defenders should not force the issue as again mentioned by Klopp with regards to Van Dijk's pass. We kept two of the most expensive players at bay, we shut them down and needed an un-force error from us to get into the game.

Milner, Henderson and Wijnaldum suits playing against team that plays the ball from the back and wanting to dominate us. Their hard work, nonstop running and physical side of their game work wonders in this situation. We now have options in midfield to play different style against different opponent.

His form is off, he tries to maintain what he did last season and forcing it way too hard. Nothing to do with spat and shit that is being mentioned by our "overly friendly" media.

Food for thought, the last of the night.
LFC won tonight, but 3 of its best players were sitting on the bench, Shaq, Keita and Fab.

I was expecting Klopp to fly the flag high, and go out all guns blazing, because psg with mabby and Neymar are world class. I was expecting LFC to play the most beautiful football ever, passing the ball through the lines and leaving no foot prints in the snow.

In fact it was quite the opposite, LFC won on shear energy and causing non stop chaos to the opposition, such psg could not settle down and play proper football, with its world class players.

While LFC probably left it’s 3 best attacking midfielders on the bench.

Not sure what to make of it.

I just want to win Silver, like we did in the 60s 70s and 80s.

I see we have the best squad ever, I want to see Silver !
How can you say '3 of its best players were sitting on the bench' when they only signed for LFC this season...LOL
Are you even an LFC fan or maybe a PSG fan in disguise???

I liked him last night except for that stupid moment. lolWorked very hard for the team in shutting Neymar down together with Milner and TAA, holding the ball when we where attacking and played some fine combinations. He is not there jet but the goals will come soon.

How can you not give MotM to Milner? Again a dominant display from the boys, the only thing one could complain about is that we did not finish them off much earlier but a win is a win.:well done:
Getting a bit boring voting for James Milner after every single game. We need another category, 'Man of the Match apart from James Milner' to give somebody else a chance.

Young Trent clear MOTM, hard to believe he's only got 2 votes.
It's the problem of only having one vote. I voted Milner as well but I could have easily voted for half a dozen others. I thought Trent looked fantastic but couldn't decide whether that was because Neymar was allowing him the space or because Trent just had him in his pocket. In a way, MOTM is a bit of a silly accolade for what was an exceptional team performance.

He also has a slight smirk on his face after he has slammed the water bottle to the ground I believe. People trying to create a narrative that doesn't make sense and also didn't happen.

Unless he had bet on PSG to draw why would he be pissed off? After all he would have missed the tap in that was disallowed if he was so pissed off, if I'm honest we didn't get enough quality shots at that goalie and I wonder if that is Salah's main irk as he wasn't very good that goalie, he was making saves that I would make and be pissed off at for holding them.

Except he took Salah off too late that created a situation.
Also Shaquiri calm? Shaqiri looked agitated, nervous and excited when he came on. Looked like he was going to try and do everything himself and score that winner (he looked like an excited schoolboy lol). I thought it was nice of him to show that willingness that he is here for LFC and us.
Firmino coming on and playing like we know he can was the best for me. I wish he would have those moments of directness more often because when he does he's one of the best in the world.

Be a tough test in Paris though, a stadium full of that lot will be daunting.
I think this kind of thing sounds better on tv than it does in person.

The PSG fans didn't shut up all game, so fair play, but their constant drone style is not hostile at all. That's not going to put opposition players off as it doesn't ebb and flow with the game, it's constant and monotonous. It's white noise.

Anfield is far more hostile and that showed last night. Our pressing plus the pressure from fans is a combination that has made City and PSG look like Everton when playing out from the back.
