Right now Mane is the best player in the world. I wouldn't swap him for anyone. His work-rate is immense, closing down, slide tackles on the edge of our own box and lethal in front of goal.
we broke messi. ronaldo's past it. neymar is a diving twat in a farmer's league

i feel like the professor's sycophant in good will hunting who stares at the hallway chalkboard for a while and then says somewhat apologetically 'it looks right'

We have to be willing UTD to win (yea, I know, but) - last thing we need is for him to be sacked and a new manager put in place before we play them. That 'new manager bounce' is a bitch!

Just catching up with today’s action. Nice surprise to see that Wolves beat Man City. I think if you try and have a go you have a bit of a chance. They are not good in the middle of that defence. Unfortunately too many teams think they are beaten before they step onto the pitch, but Norwich and now Wolves are showing that you’ve got to give it a go. On a related note to this, it’s nice that they are under FFP scrutiny/in trouble, otherwise they would have just bought Koulibaly in the summer and continued to make the whole thing a farce.

Im made up, but not celebrating yet. There’s a heck of a long way to go, and we were further ahead than this last season, much deeper into the season.

As for Man Utd, they are rubbish beyond belief. Will they bin Oleh before we tear them apart? They might do. Which will be our lookout, as they will get a new manager bounce. Mind you, I’d still fancy us to beat them, even if they were 50% better.

I think the pendulum will swing back in City's direction at some point. Will it faze us fans? Not likely. Will it faze our lads? No chance.

statistically, he's the 4th best penalty taker in england, behind milivojevic, baines, and at #1 & the 5th best in all of europe...fabinho
Oddest thing is, I know Salah is a decent penalty taker but I am calmer when Milner takes them. If that injury isn't serious how the gods have shone even more fortune on us perhaps.

Not a great day in Manchester

Although I hope this doesn’t mean Ole gets sacked before we play them.
They're going for three points to bring them within two points of fourth. It's a bit early for a sacking. There's such little quality above them, he'll have a hard job to lose his.

Regardless whether they get a new manager they are always 50% better when playing us, or if not 50% better, then at least 50% more motivated. A new manager will add to that. Wasn't any good for my football picks, but what a great result seeing the Scum lose up there. Doesn't mean we need to be over confident in the pre-match thread for the Utd game when the time comes though.

I think you're wrong. I believe the biggest gap we had at any point last season was 7 points - before we met Man City at Etihad. After that game it was 4 points.
Ten points with them having a game in hand wasn't it? Yeah so 7 pts last season. This season? No way can you count on them closing a gap with wins.

to get back to the game, I had the impression that Klopp made it harder than it should, clearly, the 4-3-3 offered with Mané on the right, Salah in the center and Bobby on the left did not work as usual. at the 35 th minute, the attacking trio repositioned as usual, it took 5min to open the scoring, from that moment, I told myself that we will attack the 2nd half with the same old, but no, JK returned to the same config. if I follow its logic, this is explained by the fact that he wanted to prevent their full backs from overlapping and to create a surplus in attack, without our CM dezoning (which would have allowed madisson to take the space between the lines)

Bobby and Mané are better at tracking back and that explains why this approach. but at the same time, Bobby is much more efficient in the center, Mané is more dangerous when he cut inside from the left wing.
it almost cost us because I really think we would have had an easier life playing as usual .

You could be right that we were 10 point ahead because we played before City in a spesific round - a game they then won. Because im pretty sure we were never more than 7 points ahead with same amount of games played

Thought we did well enough to win. Tight game. Sadio was the one for me - that tackle he made on the edge of the area had to be spot-on. Lovren too did well. Just thank goodness we won. An even more massive three points in the light of today's result. A very, very, long way to go......
