A lot of talk about us "struggling" recently but I actually thought we were really good today in our general play but around the penalty area we couldn't get a clear chance against the 2nd best defence in the league.

The only criticism I would have is that around the 35-40 minute mark we looked like we were so desperate to score that we making tackles where we couldn't get the ball and that gave Leicester the opportunity to break the game up. Then we went and scored a minute later.

Leicester scored with essentially their only real chance and it was a well worked move in fairness.

Salah was a little off the pace again but still a constant threat that Leicester were clearly concerned about - he spent most of the game with half his shirt in Chilwell or Soyuncu's fists.
Only in terms of the narrative in our own heads that we were going to fuck it up.

That was their only shot on target, and second shot in total - the other being the half volley from 25 yards.

It isn't like they were pressuring us and earned a goal from it, they hit us with a slick move and scored during a game we completely dominated and should have put away sooner with some more clinical finishing. If Bayern Munich had taken our shots for us we would have won 7-1.
Quoting for truth.

Klopp gave a bit of a sarcy response when the reporter asked, too early to say anything right now. Hopefully nothing overly serious but judging by how annoyed he was I worry it might be a bit of a bad one, I can’t recall seeing him in a post match interview talking in such an agitated way.
I was re-watching the fracas at the end of the match and completely missed JK's interview. Was he calling Choudhoury out personally? I've looked on the socials and can't find video just yet of his comments. And good on him, because it was reckless and dangerous and I said it at the time for me it was a straight red.

I understand taking a yellow for the team. It’s part of the game. However you pull the attacker back to stop him, or if needs must, you tap his ankle while he’s sprinting, and the slight contact at that pace will bring you down.

Choudary really hacked at Mo there, and was very lucky not to see red. Hopefully it’s just sore and he will be right as rain after the international break. I think Mo isn’t going away so that will help with rest and rehab if needed.

Mane!Mane!Mane! Best player on the pitch by a mile. 2-1 flattered them. Should of been 3-0 half time.
2nd half we were a bit tired. After the championship game it was expected.
Hopefully everyone comes back fit from internationals. The mancs are shitting themselves already.

For sixty minutes it was one of the finest defensive performances from us in some time. Not even one attempt from LC, and their usual quick passing was stifled time after time. Looked like we had an extra man. We did tire, and Klopp might have been the first to pull the trigger on subs, though we've seen time after time he doesn't do that. Albrighton's penalty foul bailed us, we might not have been in that position had we put Hendo on sooner.

Well, I had resigned myself to the winning streak ending at the end so this feels like 2 bonus points.

Mané MotM by a mile. Voted for Milly for the penalty and Lovren for lasting the distance.

I don't think we would have been given the penalty in past seasons. I suspect the refs may be giving these and letting VAR sort out any mistakes. Having said that, it would have been an uncontroversial free kick anywhere else on the pitch and it felt like justice given the number of brutal "tactical" fouls that we had to endure.

We do need to be converting more chances and keeping clean sheets. Mainly just for my benefit so I don't chew right through my fingertips.

Dominated them and only allowed them one shot on target and one off but needed a 95min pen to seal it , we were so wasteful up front with 8 shots on target and 6 off target, game should have been sealed in the first half, anyway it's great to get the win and go 8 clear of shitty, onwards and upwards :love::love:, oh yeah Lovren was fabulous.

He's pissed in that interview which might seem to suggest Mo has a bad one. I hope not but I don't feel confident to be honest.
Agreed. And I just finished watching the video Livvy posted and there is a certain sadness in his demeanor when he again responds to a question regarding any update on how Mo is feeling. I do believe Mo could be seriously injured. JK labeled the tackle "dangerous as hell" and referenced the same thing Choudhoury did to Ritchie.

Well Salah being injured now rather than back from the break or during the break might mean it would give him ample time to recover.

I really felt that towards the end there the win streak was over. Somehow we found a way. Of course they will accuse us of diving, blah blah blah , take the win and move on.
Mlner edged mane a bit for MOTM. He was immense today, and i completely did not see Lovren actually starting this game, but good for him. Im glad he got some playing time finally. We have United coming soon so.......keep on rolling

Elated with that but..........if Kane had gone down like Sadio there might have been a few on here giving him stick  . I would have been gutted if that was given at the other end but hey ho 3 more points.
Albrighton stood on his foot and I my eyes it’s a penalty. He didn’t need to do it but as you often see he made one mistake and then quickly made the second. It’s the kind of tackle Lovren makes when going full Lovren

Get in. Well done Redmen. 3 more beautiful points Go home Pep.

Never in doubt :ROFLMAO:

Grinding out win after win. Mentality giants.

Mane. Just how good is this guy now?! What a player we have, he's just awesome right now isn't he? I'd have him over anyone right now,Messi included.

The European Cup winners march on!

Klopp really needs to look at his approach to subs. That was screaming for fresh legs for 15 minutes. And it was an obvious change, to bring on Henderson and ask him to sit next to Fabinho, who looks like he has been asked to go to the well once too often. He is tiring on 60ish, and we're looking very open after that.
You won't find me arguing with that. It's one of a short list of criticisms you can point at Klopp it seems he has a predetermined time hes making changes.

Another fuck up from Adrian, hope I never see him in goal again. We won should have been 5-1.

I just read the new Guinea manager Didier Six isn't going to select Naby for this break and wants him to be fully healthy. Liverpool agreed to release him to play over the break but Six isn't going to play him. Just wants him to be available to watch one of the two matches. Nice to hear that.

that was hard work again . too many games , not much ability to change the team there is a huge gap between the front 3 and any sub .midfield creative options are very very limited . we must rotate and if the bench is not good enough then we might need to invest

Origi was very good and he had Jordan on at the end. We won the game with three sensible subs on the pitch. That's it. We won the game.

Blimey I must have missed us been the overall better team and ending up losing. Need to get the old eyes tested for sure.

There's a blast from the past. Wasn't Six the first French international to play in England when he signed for Villa? Or was he just the only French player in the league at the time?
