Credit to Salzburg they played a very good game and played to the last minute.

Whilst there is going to be a lot of criticism of our players from this game, sometimes you have to say fair play to the opposition. They scored very good goals.

We were complacent at 3-0 up and it nearly cost us. It's a good lesson. Our midfield rather than defence was our biggest issue.

A great game of football though and most importantly we won !!

Salzburg are a good team. As much as we shouldnt have let a 3-0 lead slip they never looked out of the game even at 3-0, they looked dangerous throughout until we got our 4th.

Theyre a real plucky team and unfortunately might complicate our group a bit.

Big phew ! We just played against the strongest side in our group, and mentally some of our players may sadly have underestimate them. Thankfully, we still won. Must have been a great game for neutrals this ! :)

Wow. Survived the scare. Very important 3 points and more so in denying Salzburg those as well, because this group is not going to be decided till game 6 for sure.

I am okay with those boring 1-0 where we see the game out than these please. Could have scored more and conceded more but just did enough to get those 3 points. Credit to Salzburg and their fans.. They were really good!

Nice wake up call before those tough games in league come up. Need the squad fit and firing more than ever!

Only watching it on the TV but you could sense the boys thinking that they'd won it after the third goal. Our defence were a shambles with VVD having his worst game in a red shirt and Gomez struggled throughout the match. I just hope that we can learn from it. Henderson needs a rest for a couple of games as his legs had gone a the start of the second half. A lesson to be learned but the first three points in the bag.

The Haaland story with his dad training him reminds me of Ivan Drago.
I wouldn’t mind seeing more of him and that minamino chap. Both look quality.
We now need to work on a few things before Leicester come to town. We sure seem to like giving the opposition a chance or two.

That Salzburg player they loaned from us for the evening will be pretty disappointed with his two own goals. Pass completion stats were pretty good though.

No harm done, and ultimately could be a good reminder that there is never a time for complacency. As soon as it went 3-0, every single one of them visibly relaxed. Not good enough, and Klopp will use this to make sure it doesn't happen again.

Horrible. The complacency at times bit us hard.
Lucky to come out with 3 points.
Klopp will be pissed with this performance.
Disagree. Although we were really sloppy after going three goals up, we still created the better chances at 3-3, such as the Mane missed header from a yard out. It's one of those quirky games, where they were clinical in a good 15 minute spell.

Agree that Klopp will be pissed, but also happy in that we somehow shrugged of the three goal comeback, and found a goal to win the game. A sign of maturity mixed in with the madness (which personally I think will be good for us in the long run, to avoid this sort of complancency).

It was an exciting game for the neutral. I'm a grumpy old bastard so it gets on my fucking wick to see this side defend so poorly. As Sweeting pointed out earlier we get too easily over loaded in the middle of the park and seem unable to handle runners from deep. Milner should have come on sooner IMO because Hendo looked all over the place.
Obviously I'm happy to win but we have to defend better than we have been doing because the margins are going to be razor fine this season.

I hope Milner and Chamberlain come in for Gini and Hendo Saturday. Those two are the biggest reasons we conceded 3. Matip was a BIG miss aswell. Gomez was rusty but improved second half. I know he got 2 goals but Salah was poor on the whole. He produces though I suppose.

The main thing is the three points. We really needed those after losing to Napoli. It was all looking so good as we went into a 3-0 lead. But then complacency, coupled with a very good Salzburg side, gave us a real fright. Their team played with great energy.

I wonder what they've been drinking?

We need to improve, and I thought this sort of helter-skelter display was a thing of the past. Hopefully it's a one off and we respond in the right way and tighten up at the back. Still, a win is a win.

Onwards and upwards.
