Of course I’m made up that we won but fuck me if I was Klopp I’d literally be tearing them a new one in that dressing room. That was a wake up call and I think some of them need to forget about last season, cowboy the fuck up and treat every game like that Barca match.

Should have stayed with playing the sexy exhibition football from the first 35 minutes.
A few errors cost us, overall though solid performance. So happy for Robbos goal. 3 points is all you have to think about.

Credit to Salzburg, reminding me of Ajax last year, good to have these fearless young teams shaking up the $$$$$$CL$$$$$$$$.

I hope Milner and Chamberlain come in for Gini and Hendo Saturday. Those two are the biggest reasons we conceded 3. Matip was a BIG miss aswell. Gomez was rusty but improved second half. I know he got 2 goals but Salah was poor on the whole. He produces though I suppose.
And yet, Jordan was the one who was putting in those good forward passes, though he had an off day with his defending. IF anyone is to sit out at hte weekend, it should have to be Gini. He seems to be in a middle of a three game rut, where he is middling through the games (his goal last match not withstanding).

Anyway, with Keita back in training, we now have a full compliment of midfielders, so Klopp can certainly mix and match at the weekend.

Relieved!!!!We should have scored like 8 goals today.. Home games are going to be vital in this group.. Salzburg are no pushovers as we saw today.. Napoli drawing against Genk has opened up the group..

Crap second half from us. Gomez in particular was absolutely dreadful.

However, sign Erling Håland tomorrow, for fucks sake. What a player. And he has just turned 19.

Gave it to Robertson. Arrogant, sloppy after the 3-0, if we play like that against Leicester we are in big trouble.

BTW, is Becker fit for Saturday? I have seen more than enough of Adrian for one season.

Loved that Andy goal.

Brilliant run, this time coming into the centre and giving a small pass before continuing into the box, then a perfectly paced ball by Henderson inviting TAA onto it, who first time delvied a measured cross along the floor, into the path of Andy who was now in the poacher's no 9 position.

Sublime.

So we almost managed to throw that away - because of complacency no less. Very important experience. Kloppo will slap that match around their heads for time to come , whenever they dare to take it easy like that. The lads played like they had it in the bag and RBS are a pushover (which they've actually been most of first half) - forgetting what Klopp undoubtedly will have drilled (unsuccesfully) numerous times into them - that they are a (plastic) club stacked to the hilt with talent and actually can play ball if you let them.
Dangerous counter attacking - and it worked for them 3 times.
Hendo especially deserves the hairdryer today - not a good captain's job in leading the line towards all that slackness. He tried to out Bobby Bobby today - and that didn't looked that great. He must stick to what he's good at and flicking backheels is not his forte.

Great job defensively to stop the heamorage and thank the almighty that Bobby outbobbyed himself for the assist to Mo. They missed all the sitters tonight and bagged the impossible ones - weird that.

Warriorking SadioMane get's my Motm today regardless - what a player he's become - his game was on the whole the best attacking display tonight.

we underestimated salzburg. they've got a good team. some of their players are actually pretty good. minamino is sensational. liverpool should start scouting great players in lesser leagues.

Disagree. Although we were really sloppy after going three goals up, we still created the better chances at 3-3, such as the Mane missed header from a yard out. It's one of those quirky games, where they were clinical in a good 15 minute spell.

Agree that Klopp will be pissed, but also happy in that we somehow shrugged of the three goal comeback, and found a goal to win the game. A sign of maturity mixed in with the madness (which personally I think will be good for us in the long run, to avoid this sort of complancency).
AGreed, if we had been unlucky they would have got another goal on one of their dangerous counters that did not actually result in one, but as you say, we missed on bigger chances ourselves. Chin up people, we just played against a deceptively good team that is much better than what the English media and maybe many fans thinks of it (because the media is like "Austrian league, must be a minnow then") and we survived even when we mentally became complacent. This is not the worst of signs. We are unlikely to underestimate them in Austria, seeing as our players now have been served how lethal they actually are, on a silver platter. Perhaps this was good for us. It shows us that if we are not 100% in our concentration, the gap between us and the second best and even third best teams, is incredibly marginal, so maybe we needed such a kick up our backsides.

5 of us were watching Liverpool against Salzburg. The rest of you must have been watching the Chelsea match or taken too much heart medication.

They have got some very promising players. We need to have an agreement with them for mutual player development and first refusal on transfers..

Well I rather enjoyed that in a "thank God that's over" kind of way. A bit mixed, wasn't it? Robbo as MotM ( after a few tired performances recently) with Trent and Mané as supporting cast.

Actually I don't think there were many poor performances as such but when we played as a team we were very, very good; and when we didn't, we conceded.

I can't complain about the three points. Napoli and Genk had a bugger-all draw so it's still looking promising.
