Maybe the weirdest match I've ever seen at Anfield - we should have slipped , because we afforded Watford a world of chances.
They didn't take them though.

Mo motm for the crucial and nice goals that made the difference - nice to give it to him again after quite some time.

...

Seriously though - how did Watford NOT score????
I felt sorry for Alisson. Because of their inept shooting he was deprived of the chance of the greatest ever Liverpool goalkeeping performance at Anfield. (May it be long in the coming.....)

My son asks that question at the start of every match!
He has a Clyne shirt - before TAA broke into first team Clyne seemed to be the only option
Sitting at home or rehab at the gym moving up our age ranking and down on the transfer value side. He was on his way out and could have still made it somewhere in a first team in the Premier League. Now it looks like a reserve role or Championship first choice.

Our track record after trips to the Middle East has not been stellar
This club World Cup thing...sheesh....its only a $5 million purse?

Real Madrid got £2mill for the first game and £5mill for winning it,thats quite alot of money for 2 games.

The league cup is 6 games if you get to the final and win it,even then the prize money is only £100k to the winner,so god knows what you get for each round other than the gate money. So you can kind of understand why they've prioritised the CWC over the League Cup.

Also, the chance of winning another trophy (which you only win for being CL winners) and that extra money added to our finances, means we can spend a little bit more without worrying about FFP rules.

Yes, we'll probably come back, playing bang average, and needing to grind out results. Look were that's got us this season...... oh Hang on!
Not sure where to put this but just noticed Wolves play Abu Dhabi in a night match on the 27th so will have less than 48 hours rest before playing us at Anfield. I'd imagine the way things are at present their manager will prioritise the Abu Dhabi game over the one with us.

Thank God for this so called fifa club world cup bullshit. Our players can take it easy for 10-12 days and rest up, while other teams continue the crazy schedule. Klopp will rotate heavily for this one. Dont give a fuck how we do in Qatar. Jus get healthy is all im after
Totally agree

I was reading some players ratings on espnfc and they gave Becker a 6 and Bobby a 7.

Now I had a couple of lovely Aussie Shiraz (11.30pm Ko here) but what was that reviewer watching!

In fact we were rubbish. So here is a side unbeaten at home for ages against the bottom side and our GK was forced into immense action and Watford fluffed sitters.

But that's the stuff of winners and Champions. A couple of magic moments. Get it done and that we did.

Only thing stopping us is a big injury to say VVD or Mane. Klopp might have to head to the transfer market for a defender. On we go this week to pick up a trophy.
On most of their sitters their was plenty of Red players between them and the goal and Alisson did what he was paid to do ...... to a very high standard

Having watched the game again the form of Bobby is a massive concern definitely not himself never seen him give the ball away so much.

One pass doesn't cover up for rest of game. If its tiredness I wouldn't play him in either Qatar games.
I was very surprised to not see Origi given a start instead of Bobby for this one. It worked superbly against Everton, especially as Shaq, Mané and Origi have a very good understanding on the pitch. But Origi will probably start in the semi-final. Firmino has been poor indeed lately.

£100k if we win it minus £200k for fielding an ineligible player

Just thought that I would mention the so called mistake by Joe when VVD was close to scoring an own goal.

The pass from Robbo was pretty poor playing it high and floaty, in that wind and at head height was doubly difficult for Joe to control.

How dare you blame Robbo, shame on you and your kind. ;)
If I remember correctly (which is quite a challenge) Joe should have headed in a different direction than he did, you should never put it where he did however it was an awkward ball and a reminder that it's best to keep things simple if possible.

I know, still love him though, If you watch it again the ball floated away from him and he had to then lean to his left to try and control it, very hard to control a floaty ball in that wind

There was a lot going against us here; early KO, new manager bounce, European away a few days earlier, horrible weather conditions, injuries...

But we came away with a 2-0 win. Even had Watford scored 2 in that first half I'm still convinced we'd have won, it's just what this side does.

One flick in 90 minutes is that enough.
He leads the team with 8 assists playing a completely different role this season. Is that enough? Could it be better? Sure. Is he in prime form? No. But we go through these phases of let’s yank one of our starters constantly and start bench players. Meanwhile Jurgen has consistently played his starters into form.

It’s easy to miss Bobby’s work rate and I don’t think anyone the bench can match it. Feels like we pick a player annually and bang the drum, and this year it’s the señor.

And I’m not biased just because I have 5 Bobby shirts:)

His last 4 or 5 appearances his standard has dramatically dropped. Yeah he may have 8 assists but it's not covering the fact hes not firing on all cylinders.
