Relief.
We're not doing this the easy way are we?

It might be 29 years since our last title (I remember it) but this season is making it feel like 60 years of late.

Better not check my blood pressure for a while

Cant even think of a MoM right now

Thought it was gone. Honestly did. Horrible first half an hour including such a shite goal to concede. The midfield I was calling for all season had a chance, and they were shite. APPALLINGLY shite. Goal gave us a foothold, and massive credit to Klopp he made some odd but bloody effective changes. The difference in energy and drive after the double sub was night and day.

I'm critical of Henderson, I don't think he's the right man to lead a team to a title challenge but if he plays consistently like he did when he got on, he'll change my mind.

Sorry I didn’t post quickly on the post match. Had three FaceTime calls from Liverpool fans before I could gather my thoughts. Soo, what a fucking game. Unbelievable attitude from our lads in the second half. Stand out performance from our Captain. Stopped the leaks and scored a belter. I thought it was slipping away and then Mo came back from the wilderness and scored an absolute peach. We are going to win the league aren't we?

Liverpool midfielder Jordan Henderson to Sky Sports: "It was very big. Every game is massive. We’ve got to win every game. I thought we showed great character in the first half.

"It was a big performance in the second half and a big result. I haven’t got in those positions often this season because I’ve been in a deeper role. The manager felt I could get in the final third positions more."

Yeah, that midfield only looks good on paper, mind you Gini was pants tonight and hasnt shown any form for weeks; thought it was gone too and had started a draft. Its deleted.

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp tells Sky Sports: "It was brilliant, I told the boys we have a good mentality among us.

"We were well organised, high pressed, being everywhere, but each ball they cleared was almost a counter, we have to adjust that. They scored a nice goal, not world-class defending but we stayed calm.

"[We] work for the moment, not wait for the moment. After 1-1 at half-time, we went again, the game calmed down then was decided with two outstanding counter-attacking goals. Mo Salah could not pass for his goal, go, go, go and world-class finish. I am really happy with the performance, we knew it would be difficult so winning here is not easy but we did it."

I honestly feel for Gini. He's hit a wall after running himself into our hearts and the ground. He needs a long rest now. Hendo stepped up and I hope to see that level of determination from Gini when he comes on in the 60th minute in a few matches time.

Sat here on seventy five minutes in despair. Decided to go through my check list. Purple top-check, lucky "taxi faced" t shirt-chec, lucky undies-check, lucky watch and bracelet-check, lucky hanky-check, lucky socks? Hang on my feet are cold. Ran upstairs to look for them. I had them out earlier ready to put on, but nowhere to be seen. Grabbed my lucky holiday socks and put them on. Realised where I'd put my lucky socks and retrieved them from the case I was preparing for a trip to that London tomorrow. I put them on but kept hold of the lucky holiday socks (just in case). Minutes later Mo slots it home. :celebrating:

Yay lucky socks.

As to the game, we have great character. A lot of players below par, but we ground out the win. Great subs by Jurgen.
I'm gonna have a celebratory whisky tonight. Just the one as I'm driving early tomorrow.

I love this game so much. In tears (almost).
The very best out of this match to me is , that all of our "doubtfull" players broke their mental chains tonight. When Mo scored I almost fainted , it was that a relief. My motm goes to Bobby , who was our secret swiss army knife tonight. Crucial in defense , great in link up , unselfish vital runs , brilliant assist for Hendo.
Only downside we collected a bunch of "unforced" yellows - can't begrudge Mo's though - I would have jumped out of my skin in that situation.

At 3-1 I was thinking of that cup match in (was it?) 2016 against Southampton. They had their tails up early back then and got hammered - I felt a thing like this might be on the cards tonight as well...

Fucking elated!
I just wrote this exact post.

More from Jurgen Klopp: "A few boys need treatment tomorrow, the performance was not top level but it is about fighting. People want us to play like Manchester City, we are unable to do that, we play our own football. We have 82 points now, that is massive in this crazy league and everyone is waiting for us. I am really proud. It is incredible.

"We had to be more lively, Trent Alexander-Arnold and Georginio Wijnaldum were struggling with the intensity of the season. Jordan Henderson came on and brought aggressiveness, verbal aggressiveness, we had direction again after that.

"We have to work for it, the moment will come but all three goals were brilliant. It is nice for Naby Keita to score the first to show Southampton it will not be easy for them. After that we controlled it more. It was good, I liked it.

"It is a difficult year for everybody, you need to have 70-75 points for the Champions League and 90-something for the the title. We are in the race and that is nice."

yeah we do it the hard way but maybe we all just need to relax.. this team keeps proving time after time they can come back from behind and win and are not panicking like us fans watching the game.. they find a way every time to keep winning in dramatic style

Salah scores.. the king is back!
Klopp makes early 2nd half game-changing subs
Keita scores his first goal.. HUGE.. keita also played good today after he started off slow.. but so did the entire midfield.. he also had something to do with Mo's counter-attack goal with his tackle
Midfield scored 2 goals today
Hendo has the best goal celebrations from a Liverpool player I ever seen.. no one beats him

I admit I was starting to panic in the 2nd half thinking we are not going to win today but this team continues to prove me wrong...

I BELIEVE!

"Wyrd bið ful aræd". Fate is inexorable. We somehow escape again, just when it looked like the three Norns, who sit at the foot of the tree of life and who weave together the threads that make up our fate, had their shears out to cut the thread that is our title challenge. But it was all a feint and they were laughing at us all this time. We fight on! 5 games to go. Fate is fate

"With tonights win, Liverpool FC will finish the season above Chelsea and Manchester United, and has guaranteed their place in next years champions league (self.LiverpoolFC)
submitted a minute ago by Zeerover-
As the table stands currently Liverpool sit top with 82, while Chelsea and United can only reach 81 and 79 points respectively.
We have already surpassed the points total of the 01/02 season, which saw us finish on 80 points and claim second place. We are only 2 points from equaling the points total from 13/14 with 5 games to go, and need just another 4 points to equal our best PL season (08/09 86 points 2nd place).
On the other hand United have managed to climb from sixth to sixth since firing Mourinho and replacing him with their new wonderboy."
