Loved every second, still celebrating the win. I am not a Henderson fan, but boy did he change the game when he came in. Hats of to you Hendo, maybe finally this is his best position and Klopp should play him there from now on bit advanced and Fab is behind. One of the things he changed today, and he should do more is that he made a run forward and put himself in a scoring position, I dont remember him doing this for a long time. Keep doing this and show everybody including me that you are BOSS.

Well that is just great.Well done Liverpool - hope you are happy.

Now I am in the position where for the first time in my life I have to hope Tottenham and / or Man Utd win against Man City - It could actually come down to wanting Man Utd to win, something I have never ever done and makes me clench my ring-piece just thinking about. Has anyone actually really considered that? Have you all lost your minds? Is winning the PL trophy really worth the sacrifice and torment of having to support Man Utd even for 90 minutes? Is it?

I am not so sure.

Thanks for putting me in this god awful dilemma. Its time for a change.

Klopp out!

Although I think the discussions earlier in the thread around selection of Henderson were valid, he done good last night.
Very good.

Showed a side last night we could do with seeing more often if game plan instructions from the manager allow it.
There's not many greater sights than seeing a midfielder arriving into the box at speed and slotting one away the way he did last night.
Well done for his quick thinking releasing Salah too.

There is little question the two subs changed the match, but a bit surprised so few thought Mane worthy of man of the match. Until the subs on the hour, he was probably our only main threat. Few others covered themselves in glory, to be fair. We struggled for an hour, even if we did have control for much of it.

Henderson did a captains job from the bench. Front foot stuff from him and Milner. Put Salah away for his winner, and scored, but did anyone see who won the challenge before Hendo's header to Salah? Fantastic challenge by Mane.

Do we even have a song for Henderson after he does something like that tonight? I cant remember any song with his name in it, and its our captain. Hmm!

Hefty stuff for our lads to be squeaking out wins like this under pressure while City coast through their matches. If I was a betting neutral, I know where my money would be. Still, Cit must watch our matches and realize, we are just not going to give up.

Come on City..... do the world a favour and fuck up.

What a night........

The midfield selection tonight was wrong on the evidence of the match. We struggled to get a foothold in the game, and the midfield was decidedly average IMHO. Henderson came on and his impact changed the outcome. As much as Gerrard in Istanbul, but on a smaller stage.

Midfield selection must give Klopp fits. Whats up with Shaq? Thought Lallana could have replace Keita, despite his goal. Fabhino was a bit iffy at times too. Ginn of his best tonight. We struggled for an hour - fair to say.

Yep, agree.
Which makes it a good thing we seem to have so many different options.

You're doing Didi a dis-service there.
Gerrard had been completely owned until Hamman came on.
But that's for another thread.

Because he has been playing the holding midfielder role!

Firmino MOTM, he always does so much attack and defense , today was brilliant. Hendo's desire and passion was surprising and needed, elated for his goal and what it meant to him, maybe he was meant to play further forward all along?
I couldn't believe how many mistakes we made , especially in first half. It seems like this season our mantra has been to play cool and in control but when we lack confidence it's hard to pull off. the instant we actually unleash and go for it, things seem to work out, nice job on the subs Jurgen.
I was yelling for Salah to pass to the best in the world Bobby Firmno and then he buried it, elated for him to nail that one. It honestly seems he puts pressure on himself and can't perform at top levels when it's like that. I don't know if it was the 50 goal thing or what but I hope that took the pressure off and he is back to normal.
Fantastic win, I trust in what we can do and I guess I'm going to have to trust in Spurs , United and Liecester to do us a favor.
Travelling Kop was WORLD CLASS! Fantastic work lads! You deserve a song from the players! :)

I watched it in a random pub as no chance I was going to get home in time.

Then had talksport on whilst driving home after the match - Chelsea and united hosts were baiting us - think we’ve won it already etc... both want city to win the quadruple... just pure hatred for us. Sad.

But if we keep this up, city must crumble... surely.

It keeps on happening. Believers.
Can’t listen to Cundy and Goldstein. Their hatred and level of bias shouldn’t be allowed on a radio show.

Every show of theirs becomes a Man U and Chelsea love in.
The other day I heard Goldstein saying Rashford should be young player of the year!

Hendo has been poor for a while but he said in an interview after the match that he’d had a chat with Jurgen and said he wanted to be higher up the field as he feels he can influence the game more.
I thought when he came on he was higher as initially I was thinking hendo would go deep and fab would push up but it actually happened the other way round.

Really surprised that Keita started. The first 35 minutes, his poorness affected the entire team.
Hopefully that goal wakes him up. He improved second half and that was a definite penalty.
There were huge gaps all over the park - plus add in TAA playing the game with his heart and not his head (and that’s expected in a young lads first title run in.)
Shaq and Sturridge have fallen off a cliff with the latter not getting in the last two match day squads.
He’s obviously not match fit but this game would’ve been perfect for Ox.
We heard both Ox and Gomez back after last international break yet nowhere to be seen. Don’t expect them to start but be nice to see them on bench.

Screamed so loudly after the Salah goal that wife came out of the bedroom reminding what time it was. Asked me to keep my voice low and went back to bed.

Should have taken her advice. After all it was past 2am when Salah scored. 5 minutes later another scream.. JORDAN FUCKING HENDERSON!!!!

Missed whatever was left of the match as i was busy convincing my house owner there won't be any more screaming and swearing.

Woke up in the morning to find my wife really pissed off. Learned that she heard everything me and my owner spoke. No breakfast for me today (i cant cook either). Waited for a couple of hours then a quick sneak peek into the kitchen gave no hopes for lunch as well.

Left home pretending I have an emergency at work. Whiskey and salad while i am posting this (just past noon here). Fairly confident wife will have something ready for lunch by the time I will be back home. Still thinking what to do with the house owner.

Anyways, another game and another win. Not great for the heart but 3 points is all i care about. The heart can recuperate after 12-May-2019 ;-)

Proud of our boys, Klopp and his staff. Keep going and lets see where we end up. What a great time for us Reds :celebrating:

First - thanks to everyone who gave me ideas and tips as I was scrambling to reschedule travel for me and my son immediately after the match today - I REALLY appreciate all of your help. I believe I have gotten most of it squared away. I'll DM each of you. But again thank you.

What a match.
It seems like before the Mo goal that nothing was going right for us (aside from the Naby goal of course); that Mo himself looked to have totally lost his touch and balance; and that Southampton were outplaying us in every area. The midfield that I think many of us had been really looking forward to seeing in action were looking inept at best and not up for the title run in at all. And we had the burden of making Shane Long look good!

I'll be the first to admit, when Mo crossed the half-way line for the counter that led to the goal, I thought "oh no" he's going to miss this one too....as he got closer to the goal I thought "please pass to Bobby..." and when he took the shot I thought..."he's left it right of the damn post..." and then me and my son danced in each others arms in sheer delight - man that was one of the sweetest moments....

Only to be followed by that emphatic Hendo goal - that was poetic justice on so many levels for him to put that away like that and then go to the fans to share the joy and determination - and the embrace between him and VVD afterwards - where VVD would not let him go - I was on my knees...

Gave MOTM to Mo (actually didn't give it yet, have to scroll up and do that after I post this)

I'm kicking myself for doubting before the Mo goal - but it sure looked bleak ....

Well done redmen again .....!

And again - thanks to everyone for the help today
Not long before Hendo scored there was an incident were Mane? dribbled into the box and pulled it across. It hit Bobby's legs and went out for a goal kick. As it was going towards Bobby you could clearly hear on the audio Hendo screaming Bobby's name. If Bobby had let it run Hendo was alone on the penalty spot and would have had an easy shot. I'm not criticising Bobby, just saying how much Hendo wanted it. He was nowhere near the pitch side mics but you could hear him clearly.

I haven't seen this during the game, that's Bobby doing Bobby thingslol

Look a the way he takes a step to the left to make sure that he's onside. Always thinking is our Bobby.

The problem with Klopp and Jordan's differing perception of where he's most effective might now be solved. Hendo's injuries have seemed to come in periods where Klopp was focused on laying out and developing attacking strategies with the fit players, and the times when he was fit it's been a defensive focus. On top I honestly think for a very long time Klopp was decieved into thinlking Jordan's character was more selfless than it it is. He's not as hungry for goals as the other midfielders so I won't deny the others a chance to play forward of him. Jordan needs to crack on now and reach 4 goals for the season.

Any United fan that wants them to win a quadruple (erasing their treble as the greatest achievement in modern football) simply hasn’t thought it through.

If last week was the Susan Boyle of ugly wins this was the Beth Ditto of uglier wins. If you not sure who Beth Ditto is Google is your friend.

What is this rivalry that Southampton fans think they have with Liverpool? Is it because we bought a few players from them? Well I’m sorry but that doesn’t forge a rivalry and Southampton have been more than compensated for those players.
So get over yourselves Southampton, you’re not Mancs or Blueshite. As rivals go, it’s all in your imagination, you are nothing to us.
