We are WORLD CHAMPIONS but now it's time to focus on our main target for the season - which is winning the PL title. Away at Leicester will be a very tricky one.

Injuries. Having played Extra-Time. Long Travel. Coming back from warm weather. Everything against us. We're used to have it the hard way - right?

Alisson
TAA Gomez VvD Robertson
Milner Henderson Wijnaldum
Salah Firmino Mané

Boxing Day. Away Game. Strong opponent. We need some ice cold steel in midfield. Time for the old man to show why we gave him a new contract.
Would also prefer Lallana over Keita if Wijnaldum is not ready - just a feeling i have.

Qatar is not hot in December. I am not getting this hot weather to cold weather problem. I hope our boys do not pick up and cold virus, which is a worry.

ETA: I am hoping Vardy eats alot of Christmas food the day before.

Any result here will evaporate any Leicester challenge imo.
But this is a game where we can’t rely on the opposition strikers to miss sitters. Vardy will punish us if we allow him. And their tactics and players are suited to counter attacking so we should try and stifle them.
As for team line up, we don’t have much choice really.
For me this is a big 6 games for us in the league. If you look at city’s fixtures on February and March then that’s when their congestion starts.
We have Leicester, in form wolves and sheff Utd, Jose’s spurs and united coming up. With a Merseyside Derby cup tie.

Allison
TAA
Robertson
VVD
Gomez

Henderson
Keita
Lallana (gini if fit)

Salah
Firmino
Mane

If Gini isn't fit I'd have Milner in the midfield for this one, he was superb there at Anfield against this lot.

We've just had extra time but they've had tough games with Everton and City, so I doubt they'll have any real physical advantage.

Vardy is the main threat, stop him and we win the game.

3-2 reds.

We can afford a draw but psychologically a win for us would be huge. Not only by increasing the gap over Leicester but also keeping the gap with City. It would also hold off all the negative stories about our players being knackered.

City look to be playing with some confidence now which only our wins can probably dent.

Will be a really tough game, they will be extra determined to get the 3points, it's easy to see this ending up a draw 1-1 or maybe 2-2 but most likely is a 2-1 grind with a winner in added time. We have the better team, better manager and we are relentless.

Would keep faith in Keita, he's been superb recently and Milner in if Gini's not 100%.

My team would be:

...............Becker............
Trent...Gomez...Virg... Robertson
.............. Henderson.................
..... Wijnaldum..........Keita..........
Salah.........Firmino.........Mane

Away win for the Redmen. 3 more points for the undisputed world champions

Well I managed to get 3 tickets for this - BUT all in the Leicester end. Going to be tough to stay quiet.

My lad has already questioned whether he can do it. They are front row seat too.

I think Leicester and all the Teams now should give us a guard of honour - FIFA should make this Law.
They should feel privileged to play against us.

What a team we have. And lets go bag another 3 points.

Not everyday do you get the opportunity to play the world champions!

Having said that let's kill any hopes Leicester have.
Their biggest strength and threat is vardy. Neutralise him and we win this.

.................Alisson..............
TAA...Gomez...VVD.....Robbo
....Keita....Hendo.....Milner....
...Salah......Bobby.....Mane...

Is wijnaldum fit for this? I hope he is, we need him back asap.

Happy with a point
Can't argue with that but we need to try and win it. Key here is the defence - it's not just Vardy, we know this is a decent Leicester side.

They will set up to get us on the break. Given that we play with wing-backs the VVD-Gomez-Allison access is critical but the key is who our defensive midfielder will be. I'm tempted to stick Hendo in that role - I know he prefers a more attacking role but he does have that ability to be niggly, break up play and shout at people in Mackum.

On the plus side, we seem to be more defensively coherent than when we played them at Anfield. I'm going to predict another 1:2 victory for us but, as you say, I'd be happy with a point.

Happy with a point only if City's corresponding fixture early next year ends in dropped points. I think dropping 2 points in this game isn't that relevant to our team's self-esteem which is and should be sky high now. But like our lads on the pitch, 'happy only with a win' is the way to go I think.
