I would take Sterling off now.....once again his error has led to a goal. Is Kelly on the bench?
Kelly isn't there. I wonder why. Would love to see him get some time on the pitch.

Is o e reason why we need a genuine impact player on the bench sometimes. Give us a bit of impetus when things get a bit flat and shit

He wasn't the one marking the scorer though right? As I've said before, Gerrard has been on the front post for us and for England for a long long time. Hasn't produced any howlers in that time.
I would rather see one of the CB in that area, would save us a lot of grieve. Just theory I know., but stevie is not good at reading the ball's movement in the air, atleast I don't think he is. He's a master of so many things but that's not one of them.

why are we switching off again at second half?
Mental weakness on the part of our players? BR can't be coaching this stuff surely.

I don't think Rodgers really knows how to address the weaknesses in mentality, which is why he's suddenly reluctant to use that last sub as a chance to try some players.

He's fucked. In real danger of becoming rob jones mark 2 if he isn't careful. Is an obvious problem not having a specialist RB available.

I didn't think sterling could be worse than he was in the first half. Doing well at proving me wrong.

Awww mate.... Can you get an closer to scoring and not score? Probably less than inch from deflecting in off the post.

Think we looked much better with Moses than Alberto, nit picking I know. It just illustrate how important speed is in premier league.

Actually thought Moses hasn't been that bad in the no 10 role. Not great like but Aspas and co have made him look like ozil almost

Alberto will need more time and guess this is when he does need to get game time. Bit of an odd buy when we probably could have had someone some way more ready for just a couple of mill more but guess we will see

In future transfer windows would like to see us go for more immediate starters than ones for the future though. Feel we have filled our quota of maybes

That bad? I thought he was fit again. Already played for the reserves and was on the bench in the cup game.

I am so confused by that substitution...why not get Sterling off the pitch. his movement is terrible and gives the ball away.

CBs typically mark the tallest and strongest opponents. Those opponents don't usually attack front post; they attack the six-yard box from outside. If we put one of our tallest and strongest aerial players at the post, we're letting one of their better aerial players have a much better chance.

With the goal we just conceded, it had less to do with Gerrard being at the front post than it had to do with the lack of someone tracking Gayle.

agreed. the whole point in playing a player like Sterling as a RB is to give some more attacking intent. however, Sterling has been atrocious in attack.

He's feeling his way back but are genuine concerns about his long term fitness. Shame really. Like I said, he could be a Carra type if he wasn't so fragile

Been flitting in and out of the squad but has as of yet not been fit enough for us to call upon, even when he's been needed. That's a bit worrying I reckon

Thanks. I didn't know that. Let's hope for the best. He was my favourite young player a while ago.

With three CB's we could have one of them act zone marking at the front post rather than man marking, it's not like palace have any heading threat that need extra attention too. Front post is the most dangerous area, having a dominating header in there is crucial I think.

Enrique's delivery from the flank has been poor. Another chance wasted to put in a decent ball. The full back positions are trouble areas for us.

Great. We won. but until we start competing and concentrating for the full 90 then we won't be playing to our full potential.

Or, we were shit in the 2nd half.

Ffs... Don't wanna be a dick because I'm happy with the result BUT... Enrique has been awful... I hope Cissokho is fit to play soon.

Still think the problem was letting Gayle get a free header from there. If Gerrard's job was to be at the front post, then it wasn't his job to track Gayle's run. Problem is, both Gerrard and Enrique were standing at the front post so...
