Strong line up from Klopp. Probably what we'll see at the start of the season.

We look much sharper, fitter, and almost ready for the season. Good workout with them getting everyone behind the ball!

Fernández looks the real deal! He'd be amazing playing behind our front 3.

Mignolet? All I can say is I hope Becker is un bread! At lesst the double save at the end will boost him up again., but I think we need to be looking for a 2nd keeper shortly.

Migs has been doing well in the past few minutes. Nice read of the situations.

Analysis: curtis jones is a bigger unit than I thought. Millie was having none of it.

I always knew Ilori and Coates would make it! lol

People will I’m lalllana bashing but did he play ant part at all last night?
If not he’s already missed 3/4 games already. My frustration is that for some reason Klopp thinks we can rely on him.
Lallana even gets injured getting into the shop window! He is so frustrating.

Shop window?

“I’ve got a year left on my contract. I’ll be back, I’ll be training through the summer.

Asked if he was staying given the frequent speculation about his future, Lallana said: ”Yeah. Absolutely no question about it. I couldn’t be happier here, winning Champions Leagues.

“And the gaffer and his staff and the recruitment guys have all made it clear they know I have a big part to play with what’s to come next, so I’m buzzing with that.

“No question my future is here and I can’t wait for what’s next.”

Also Jurgen confirmed that the Ox has a calf problem.

We need to bring at least one in. We have so many games coming up

Interesting watching Bruno Fernandes today (my time). On the basis of only seeing him play today for the first time and...... in a preseason friendly (insightful analysis, haha), i really liked what i saw.
He looked like he could be a good fit for us out on the left as a wide forward.
Looked like he could play as a CAM too.
Oh well. Dream on.

https://www.reddit.com/r/LiverpoolFC/comments/chhmcj I know Jurgen likes just the occasional hug,but this photo just messes with my head.

Yeah, Fernandes played well, very energetic and quality in both ways, MOTM. I don't see us going for him however, that interest has already been rejected a few times. Performance was so-so. Some good spells in possession, switching sides well, but also leaking between the lines and in defence. Mignolet with a terrible mistake. Then we got angrier and started moving the ball well. Gini had a good performance, movement off the ball got him constantly into goalscoring positions. Although typical Gini, almost wasted his shot when he scored, he had the first post open for a cleaner shot. Fernandes made an excellent last ditch block on him just a minute or two later. Hendo was also good, moved the ball accurately. Fabinho was weak, turned his back to the challenge in that chance when Sporting hit the post. Millie wasn't at his best either. Mignolet reacted well however, a combination of a few good saves and coming out/interceptions, because their counter attack was good and in numbers when we lost the ball in attack. Matip showed a bit of weakness, as did Trent in that action when we conceded. It was nice to see Berg, funny how he immediately took over the LCB position and we shifted Lovren to RCB.

This tour just felt a little bit too intense. Too many games too quickly. Pre-season preparations were never going to be as good this year as last simply because of the number of absentees, but we are not in the greatest of shape with just 2 weeks to go to the start of the season and it must be a concern for JK. Both Keita and Shaqiri, two players who need big seasons, haven't played at all. Clyne fucked for months and now Ox with a calf strain. I was going to say his form and fitness was one of the high points of the tour but even that's been thrown into doubt.

We were OK in the first half last night with a relatively strong line-up. I'm not sure we've learnt much about some of the younger lads. Brewster for sure will be good but I haven't seen much from the others to suggest they are going to have much impact yet outside of the early rounds of the Carabao or FA Cup.

JK will probably be glad this is all over. Good PR exercise and a chance for US fans to see us in the flesh but it's been a slog. I am hoping that we might see some slightly sharper performances against Napoli and Lyon.

Very disappointed in this Pre Season, just an all round mess imo. I fully appreciate that fans around the world are delighted to get the chance to see us play, but the fans in the USA can't be too happy with what they saw this month, same way that the players and Klopp will not be pleased with their showing. I am just so relieved that we have come away with minimal injuries, the pitches were so not good enough for top ranking European clubs to play on - last night was a joke, the pitch was that small (I know, legally so) that it always looked too crowded. It was tough to see who was playing well and who was dire, there were so many on screen at any time to fathom out what was going on.

There are loads of full blown, proper football (OK, if you must - soccer) stadiums in the US, please can we use those next time?

Sorry USA, you really did deserve better, maybe in a year without continental summer tournaments you'd get to see all our top players. I know how strong the following for LFC is in North America, I've seen first hand how whole malls will empty into refreshment zones because an LFC match is being shown live there - that made me feel so dammed proud!

I guess the remaining PS matches will be extra vital now for Klopp to see what he has or hasn't - seeing him angry and shouty last night was worrying. Oh, final point - 1/2 a cup? Really? Surely it could have gone to penalties! Who the freak wants 1/2 a cup!
