I was stuck in traffic yesterday on the M25, dirty white van was vehicle in front of me.

Instead of the usual 'clean me' or 'my wife is dirtier than this van' inscribed on the back for other's amusement, someone had written...

"CORNER TAKEN QUICKY, ORIGIIIIII"

I kid you not! Just brilliant.

That goal is my main ring tone.

I play footy with this manic Barca fan. This summer, having duly made four fine ring tones, I assigned the other 3 to 3 other teammates. Per plan, after one of our evening matches during the post-game beverage, I received a sequence of four telephone calls that I clearly needed to take. Said teammates surreptitiously dialed me. Each rang with their dedicated tone (Origi1, Wijnaldum1, Wijnaldum2, Origi2). He had pretty much figured it out by the third Wijnaldum goal.

I definitely think we should start a petition for Origi to have his first name changed by Deed Poll from Divock to Corner Taken Quickly.

We need to win this and we will win this. Its like a 6 pointer. We should go into this like a cup final.
I actually think a draw would do, but unlike the 18/19 edition (at least from January forward), I don't think we have the same imperious defence that could just kill off the game even against a powerful attack like City's. This feels like a prize fight between two notoriously hard punchers who are both known for having a weak jaw. However, we know our defence can be much better, that is not the case for the City squad right now.

I'll level with you. I'm shitting it. We simply must win this game whatever it takes. It would be an enormous kick in the testicles for shitteh going into some difficult fixtures.
Exactly mate!! Pep cannot handle the barrage of media questions as to why City lost and he is a very bad loser. I see them dropping lot more points against other oppositions considering City haven't played Arsenal, Chelsea, United, Leicester if I am not wrong. if we win against them this Sunday then the title race will not be so tight as last time.

I will be disappointed with a draw, unless we were close to losing with minutes to go and managed to pull it back. This is such a big opportunity for us given their defensive weakness. I agree that we are not so strong defensively either and that it will be more open than last year's game which was a non-event, but it's the chance to open up a 9 point gap so I am hoping we go for it this time. Even though it's early in the season that's a huge advantage for a team that doesn't drop many points (just 19 since the start of last season). It doesn't need a more attacking line up, just a more positive mindset. I thought we were afraid of losing last season (in both games) and it cost us in the end.

If the outcome is a draw, I won't be particularly down, but I agree it would be a missed opportunity. Tactically, however, I think we really do need to try to grab them by the throat and turn it into a chaotic scrap. There are loads of errors in that side, and although I have not seen any statistics that bear it out, my sense is that per minute of of opposition possession in their final quarter of the field, City give up a lot of fouls and cards. It is fairly striking how many players they have who foul more often than they are fouled, even guys like De Bruyne who attract quite a few fouls, especially in a side that dominates possession like that. Push them, and they will foul around their box, and then those center backs are there to be tested.

IMO there are 2 spots up for consideration.
The first being whom to partner VVD. I would prefer Gomez to Lovren as he has the speed to counter Raheem.
The second spot would be in midfield. I would prefer Ox to play in front of Fab and Gini. He has the speed and firepower from distance to keep City off balance in defence.
We should go for an aggressive in-their-face win and let them leave Anfield traumatised.

By not going at them we will be doing the same mistake we accuse most of the other teams of, that is not having a go at them and playing to their hands. We are one of the few teams, in fact probably the only team their players and Pep give respect and change their game out of fear.

We gave too much respect to the other mancs, I hope we do not go for a draw here especially at Anfield.

I desperately need us to win this on Sunday. Mrs CDO now has an ally to hand. Our eldest Grand-daughter is also a Citoil fan. I need the narrative from those two on Sunday night to be one of “it’s only nine points, we can still do it. Pep was right, Mané is a diver. That was never a penalty. If Fernandinho hadn’t been sent off so early we’d have won that.”

I love them both dearly but hope that they’re hugely disappointed come Sunday night.

BTW, our Grand-daughter turns twenty on 3rd December. We play the Ev the next night. The Ev haven’t won at Anfield since BEFORE she was born.

It is Klopp. We know that we won't play for the draw, it will be a question of just how attacking the side will be - balanced pressure with an emphasis on quick strikes off a turnover, or does Klopp get out the dials that go to eleven?

If some of us with masochistic tendencies want as tight a finish in May as last season, then you are entitled to see a draw as a good result; it's a way to pretty much ensure we're not 12 points clear when we play them next.
I'm hoping for 15 points or more personally by March.

I'm expecting us to have a bigger lead than 6 points by the end of the year (after matchday 20) if we get a draw on Sunday. City still has to play United, Chelsea, Arsenal and Leicester until then while we already played against them all and Tottenham.
