I’m getting fired up for Sunday’s match. Boys and Girls, and Others (must be all inclusive now a days) this is a really, really big match. It might not decide the championship of the EPL but it will set LFC up nicely for this first half of the season. I just hope our front three especially Mo show up 100% and go for blood right from the opening minute. Think is one game we need to dominate and destroy the opposing team. Anfield needs to be rocking like a hurricane hit it!!

We are a huge thorn in their backside
2 years ago people were saying they could walk away with everything and that they would wrap up the leagues before Easter for the next 5 years, yet here we are Champions of Europe making them fight for every point in games as they know this Liverpool side will not back down to them. They do not scare us. Klopp is a genius, take the 3 points and move onto the next game

Really looking forward to this one. Don’t know if it’s mind games, but pep looks kind of nervous about this. His whole weird comments etc

the only thing that concerns me, is that pep won’t let mendy or walker go forward. Which means it’s difficult to break them down with our front 3. Hence the draw last season. I don’t know how Klopp will over come that. City’s bus parking

what do do in midfield?
I think it is crucial to have some extra safeguards especially on Lovrens side, I don't want him to face Sterling to often in a one vs one situation.
So shall we sacrifice the attacking option of our full backs by playing the ox or bring in a defensive minded option like Milner als double protection?
I guess Klopp will choose the later option.

This is the area that concerns me most. The gaps between Trent and Lovren and how City will exploit them with Sterling now operating on that side. I doubt Trent will be asked to stay back because that takes away too much from our attacking play so I expect Henderson will be more conservative in this game and sit nearer the halfway line than usual as cover. Maybe the CBs will be slightly deeper as they were against Leicester to protect Lovren given his lack of pace.

I am really looking forward to this game but then I was last season and it was a complete damp squib. City killed the atmosphere stone dead by knocking the ball around in their own half and we stood off them. I think it will be a cagey opening but at some point we will have to go for it. This is too good an opportunity for us to miss.

Nobody picking Milner?
In place of who exactly?

Looking forward to this. Think we will thump them. They're good but I would think we will be more determined, passionate and I really dont think they will be able to handle us.

Quite fancy a midfield of Fabinho, Gini and Chamberlain but I think we all know Hendo will play instead of Ox.

Would also like to see Gomez play ahead of Lovren. He is quicker and the better player.

3 or 4 -1 Reds.

Would imagine the midfield will be

.....................Fabinho..........
......Henderson......Wijnaldum

As for Lovren, maybe he wont play? I hope Jurgen goes with Gomez and his extra pace.

I really want AOC to start too. I'm slightly worried about our defence though tomorrow.
Your worries are shared by many and the perception of Ox is that he doesn't do enough defensively so he'll be left to come on when the game has opened up – or in other words, when his defensive weakness has become less important than his attacking strength.

Same here. I think Ox genuinely scares City. At the same time I'm certain they will try and exploit our right side. Playing Mane that side might put an interesting twist on things.

Yep
But with Firmino centre as he is isolated on either wing.
The dienside is Salah likes cutting in from the right, but he could adapt.

As far as I'm concerned Firmino should start every game he can. While he doesn't get the plaudits of the others I personally believe he is a strong candidate for being our best player. To my mind he is indispensable.

But then again Fabinho is kind of hot on his heels now. Hmm our Brazilian trio

Strange that Blue Moon got rid of the LFC thread. It was one of their most popular.
Probably blocked from view again like a few weeks ago. They must have once again really gone off the handle with the hate as opposed to their normal off the handle hate and the site are doing the usual out of sight, out of mind.

Mix of emotions for this match: Excitement, worry, anticipation and so on. But however it ends, we will still be in a good position even with a loss. But man, a win would set up nice as actual favorites to win the league ! What a chance we have !
