That must have helped to lift the mood. We have some fantastic young players and the return of the senior lads was massive. Only Sadio left now.

He doesn't hold it up well enough and tends to misplace passes. He's better wide where he can get turned and get running onto play or with the ball.
The link up play is too slow, doesnt see a pass and he just doesnt read our passing phases well enough to be in the right position, mostly

That second half did me a lot of good. There was quality all round. Great to see. Lyon weren't really very competitive though tbh.

In the end. Everyone played well.....except Origi who was awful
I say this with the highest level respect and reverence, because I like Divock Origi. He works hard and has a great attitude. But Big Div is a very one-dimensional player. Obviously that 'one-dimension' is massive because he is an out and out poaching goal scorer. The challenge for Div is the rest of the game. When he isn't putting the ball in the net he isn't doing much else to help.

See how the young kid has a faster football brain than Origi..............Big Div doesn't read the ball that is coming and slows his run.
Big Div's role for us going forward has to be as a sub doesn't it?

Missed the first 10 or so minutes. After stumbling a bit, I finally managed to find a stream and realised that we were behind by 1 goal. Quickly ran upstairs, put on the shirt. Ran back downstairs and just got to witness Bobby immediately scored a no-look goal. Afterwards, settling down and then saw a cracker of an own goal. I thought to myself....I have got to put on the shirt for all this year's matches!

Wilson, that boy, what a screamer of a goal. Nice assist by Duncan.

End result ? Divock Origi screws Barcelona and Tottenham and wins the Champions League for Liverpool.

That said , I agree with what you said. He's a clutch player though

Agreed 100%. And it feels silly (for me, anyway) to critique Big Div because of how massive his goals are and have been for us. I am not saying negative about him, just observations more than anything.
