Absolutely stunned that there isn't a pre-match thread opened for this one already. What has stopped you, lads and ladesses?

This is a hard fixture for us. We suffered the two times we met them at their ground. They are a very good team with plenty of good players and are still fighting for something (EL qualification).

Hopefully, with the help of the Anfield crowd, we can overcome that last hurdle. We have a good record with Klopp for those last-day-of-a-season fixtures. Fingers crossed for the three points!

Going to be a tough game for sure. They've already guaranteed themselves 7th in the table but they'll be looking to make a statement I'm sure... We just need to take care of business and force City to win their game. Hopefully Robertson and Hendo are fit to play, and it sounds like Mo should be too. I'm guessing Origi won't get a start if he's fatigued from Tuesday, so Sturridge may get one more chance to play in red.

Alisson
Trent Matip VVD Robbo
Hendo Fabinho Gini
Salah Sturridge Mane

Maybe I am misremembering but I seem to recall a comfortable win in the league and then nearly beating them with a bunch of kids.

We owe them a good hiding to shut their horrible fans up too. How long before they break into 'Ste Gerrard' or 'Feed the Scousers' ? Anyone who's visited that part of the country knows they have got a right cheek to be slagging anyone off. Fucking muppets.

Anyway , we're gonna win because of course we are.

Is Bobby fit for this one ?

I mentioned it in the Rodgers thread, but will mention it in here again. This beautiful object here:

will be at Anfield on Sunday, waiting for Hendo to lift it after the ninety minutes in the midst of a delirious Anfield. Imagine the sound in there, imagine the joy, the celebrations, the tears.

I remember a difficult and quite scrappy league game, but maybe it's me who misremember it. Fair enough for the cup tie, we missed a good part of the usual first team.

Thanks for starting the thread. I looked before and was surprised there was no thread, but I didn’t start one as who wants to be responsible for starting a thread for the first time, then potentially not winning the Wolves game while Man City stumble at Brighton, thus costing the side the first league title for 29 years? It’s all too much responsibility for me to handle!

I agree it will be a tough game, but we simply have to give our all and get the three points. There’s loads of time (too much in my opinion) to recover and prepare for the CL final.

Wolves are a good side, but they did take a bit of a shortcut by benefitting from the fallout in Portugal, which helped them to snap up some very good players, so almost instantly they performed “above their station” as it were. I’m surprised the media haven’t made a bit more of that.

Nuno seems a decent bloke and a good football man, and Wolves play good football and carry an attacking threat and also a long distance shooting threat from midfield. We will have to be on it to win all three points. I think we will do it, especially because of what is at stake. I hope Brighton do us a favour but I don’t expect it. Then again, it has been a week for miracles, so let’s do our job and see what happens...

Alisson
TAA Matip VVD Robbo
Fabinho
Henderson Wijnaldum
Salah Mane Origi

Milner to be the first back up in case Henderson or Robertson not fit.
Sturridge might get the nod ahead of Origi if the latter is tired, but Sturridge and Salah don’t play well together, so I’m not sure about that.

Goes without saying, so i'll say it, it's a must win game. Then again, that's not strictly true.

Permutations:

We win, but Shitty also win, they win the title.
We win, and Shitty lose, we win the title.
We draw, and Shitty don’t lose by more than four goals, then Shitty win the title.
We draw, and Shitty lose by more than four, then we win the title.
We lose, oh shit.

Whatever happens, proud of our team. Believe.

There’s only going to be an artificial trophy at Anfield; the real one will be at the City game.

Which is quite ironic, really.

I feel faint. But if this should transpire, the player I’d be happiest for: Hendo.

Come on you, Reds! Two more moments of brilliance.

A copy that is. The actual trophy will be at the Amex.

Feel sad for the real one already. All polished and gleaming, ready for the moment it's literally been made for only to discover some cunt's not only put the wrong colour ribbons on but you're not even in the right part of the country.

They have Conor Coady who is a scouser IIRC? Bleeding muppets...

ManC will choke on their game. Kompany will handle the ball on the line in the 5th minute and concede a penalty + Red card.

Then Brighton will defend manfully and then hit ManC on the counter early 2nd half and eventually win 2:0.

In the mean time we will have a nervous game, eventually scraping a win with a Milner penalty in in the 88th min (after Mane is stupidly , and needlessly fouled by Conor Coady for no apparent reason).

Alisson

Trent – Matip – VvD – Milner

Hendo – Fabinho – Gini

Salah – Mane - Origi

I'll need to take a day off on Monday to nip off to Liverpool to see the celebration bus ride...

Origi should be chomping at the bit to play and there's no reason for him to be fatigued. If I was him I'd be fucking furious if I was left out for Sturridge.

Is the new kit getting a run out?
I hope not. We're going in the final league game with a chance for the title. Need to wear what we've been wearing all season.

New kit gimmick is just marketing for next season. Do it if we have nothing on the line.
