Dear Jürgen.

I hope that you are well. With regards to this weekend’s match, please do not play Manchester United’s reputation. Realise instead that it isn’t 1999 any more and that they’re utter wank these days; let our boys play their natural game, sit back and watch us batter them 5-0.

Regards,

I think they will try to surprise us. For the opening 15-20 minutes; they will press hard and try getting ball & men inside our box. Ole is an old hag, he knows the meaning of this tie. He also knows it's useless to try to contain us. So I feel he will try to be brave instead.

Not a bit nervous about this. I hope we play our game and notch a pretty 3-0.

Well this is my prediction:
Double digits for us making Öle to be sacked before the last whistle being given. I foresee a thumping 7 0 for us in the first half.
Then the second half commeth the big Div with a treble Bang. Kop pissing themselves by laughing at Manure fans.

Fabinho, Matip, and Shaqiri could be back for this one, but the same lineup as against Spurs is expected nonetheless.

-------------- Allison ---------------
Trent -- Gomez - VVD - Robertson
------------ Henderson ------------
--------- Ox ------- Wijnaldum ----
---- Salah --- Firmino -- Mané ----

Bench: Adrian, Matip, Fabinho, Lallana, Shaqiri, Minamino, Origi

Injured: Lovren, Milner, Keita

Not in squad: Kelleher, Phillips, Hoever, Williams, Larouci, Jones, Elliott

Hopefully go 3-0 up in the first half. Bring Neco, Curtis and another academy lad to add to insult while also keeping Ole in the job so it hopefully remains 3-0.

In more serious note, hopefully Jürgen goes out and attacks these more, cannot pay them any respect or fear these. Need to have more attacking midfielders as these will put full backs on ours , like they done to great effect last time.

They're game-raising shithouses now. All of their pace is up front though, and I don't think they're smart enough to beat our high line/offside trap. We'll boss them in the middle of the park, just need to finish the inevitable chances that we'll create. Their defenders are slow as balls, and TAA should get plenty of joy down their left side.

4-0 to us.

The ref is Craig Pawson Sunday who did not referee us this season in the league.

We should win this one at Anfield, 3-1.
In the 26 games we've had in English domestic competition:
Atkinson 4
Oliver 4
Taylor 4
Marriner 4
Kavanagh 3
Moss 2
Langford, Friend, Dean, Mason, Tierney 1 each
The worst single performance though was Dr Felix Brych in the Champions League Napoli away game. I doubt I'm alone in that.

We just need to watch out for the counter attack here, Rashford is in great form and always plays well against us. He'll be looking to do something similar to Moura on Sunday. I would imagine Henderson will sit very deep again, but I also wouldn't be against Robertson staying deeper for this one either to offer a bit more support.

The only thing that worries me is if we offer United some gifts like we did against Spurs, that's the only way they get something out of this game. With their lack of quality in midfield and at the back and our plethora of options we'll have the ability to step up the tempo at any point in the match and put them under serious pressure.

We should be winning this one comfortably. An early couple of goals would be perfect as United wouldn't be able to get the ball off us for the rest of the game.

It will be difficult as it always is but it’s our ground. We need to make a statement. Win this and we’re well on our way with good breathing space.

It's my wife's birthday on Sunday so I will be taking her out for dinner when this is on - first match I will have missed for ages.

I don't particularly like this fixture anyway. The vitriol between the two sets of fans is grossly unpleasant and the match itself is usually tedious.

Given that I am missing this, it will end up being a glorious 5:0 with entertainingly comical banter between the fans. Well, I can dream...

I'll leave it up to Jürgen and the lads to sort this one. They will just have to manage it without me shouting at the TV for once.
