It's time to spread our wings a bit More and prison them in their 18 Yard box all game.

Or 1-1. If we don’t play to their strengths and respect them as if they are great.
Manchester United hasn't been great in 5 years. I don't see any recent League Trophies decorating their prize cabinet.
Let's be honest they haven't been truly 'great' since Ferguson retired. And Mourinho bringing them into the sun was a very brief period of time before it all fell apart.

Hell the 'normal' one just defeated the 'special' one last week, pushing Spurs back into the midtable. And Liverpool came from being predicted only 3rd by certain foolhardy pundits at the start of the season to become the heavy favorites now.

This United club isn't as poisoned as they were at the tail end of Mourinho and the in-between mess of managers. But they are clearly midtable.

LFC is at home. They should play their normal game. If they don't 'respect' Citeh they sure as hell shouldn't play 'respects' to an average Man United Club.

I'm not saying abandon caution, but LFC should play with the usual 'full metal' style that has been working to great effect this season. This year's 'metal' has been about gutting out tough wins, not just blowing out weak teams with goal gluts. So I wouldn't be surprised if it were a tight 2-0 or 2-1 game. Then again we have the talent to fully take advantage at Anfield, and a 4-0 blowout wouldn't surprise me either.

In fact I'm wondering if we might see a slight rotation despite this being a 'rivalry' game. I would be intrigued to see Minamino face off against the Mancs and see if he could take advantage against somewhat less agile defenders.

Smash em they are shite.

@Alright Now what superstitious thing you doing?
3 days Fast?!
Send me a list of proposals and I will take them under advisement. I have to run them by Mrs @Alright Now though. She is considering reining in some of my recent antics. The other day during the Spurs match, I accidentally texted her sister in law some choice words that were intended for my old Reds room mate. So that’s become an issue.

Play our normal aggressive game and we will beat Utd.
On a side note I am guessing "Ole" is Norwegian for "Dick" and "Gunnar" for "head" because that is what he is. His constant snide comments against LFC really gets my goat up. I hope we beat them enough to demoralize them but not enough for them to sack him.

honestly, i'd take a dull tight encounter, until ten minutes before the end captain fantastic gets sent lolloping clean through from within our own half, time appearing to stand still long enough for baconface to fully appreciate his beautiful legs dance round de gea and seal the points..

Last season at this fixture, @Red_Jedi met @Alright Now. What a day for @Red_Jedi.
My therapist always comes back to this day for some reason.

I've blocked most of it out, but do remember the football match that was glorious.

Rashford is the only one in this United team that bothers me a little - and if he's out, we should batter them.

Getting incredible satisfaction watching and listening to Utd fans bicker about which new multi million players (aka future failiures) they should sign in Jan.

While we sit back relaxed, having spent only £7m across 2 transfer windows, yet ready to hand them their asses on a plate on Sunday.

Feeling very optimistic about this one. Can see this 3-0 at HT where we can give more minutes to our bench players in the 2H.
Don't mind a 3-0 FT to keep Ole in the job where he can say he got a draw in the 2H at Anfield... :)

Rashford will be sacrificed. He'll have no choice but to bring him on at some point and he'll do OK until the first tough challenge and then our players and the biased ref will be held to blame by their fans for putting Rashford out of action for six weeks. I care about that young man enough, to hope in this case, we don't boil Manc piss.

Must admit that I like Rashford as well. Hopefully they will rest him to give him time to recover - suits us and there is a better chance that he will be fit for the Euros in the summer.

Start to getting excited for this one now. The games are normal turgid hard to watch affairs that make me sick to my stomach with a few exceptions. I'll never forget sitting next to my wife in hospital, pregnant with our first after a little scare and i managed to get the 1-4 game at the Toilet on a tiny tv in the room, i felt so good after that and i want that again, i want us to utterly shit all over them, a Leicester away type performance, firing on all cylinders all over the pitch. How i'd love us to stick 5 past this shower of shite, red card for De Gea after 10 mins and they fall apart. Jones, Minamino and Fab all come off the bench, both Scousers score. I know this is their cup final, mid-table has been club but i hope they put in a weak effort, everything goes wrong for them and it's an embarrassment, Ole's barely holding onto that wheel and they can do one for all i care. I want to past them in league titles and in the money league too, fed up of seeing Mexicans wearing their shirts for years now just because of the Little Pea and a few glory hunters from back in the day, not to mention the fact we had shitty new balance and you couldn't even get a kit over here. Thank fudge for Nike, not only will my whole family have kits next season so will a lot of Mexicans once we storm to the title and retain our champions league. It's good times, let them keep rolling and let's enjoy United suffer because we certainly owe it to them, in bucket loads. 5-0 is my bold prediction, Salah x2, TAA, Mane, Jones.

Must admit I’m a bit jittery about this one due to the draw in October last year. I’m sure we’ll win but I have a funny feeling it might be a nail biting 2nd half. We can’t sit back on this one!

i think lallana deserves the last place in the team, and maaay get it based on the opposition, but i expect klopp to want ox to break through united early and lallana to see it out late, like spurs. as much as adam will want to start, i think you could see against spurs how klopp has sold him on that milner role - it absolutely seemed a preplanned sub, and you'd much prefer lallana doing that role than ox so it's both a unique and important contribution.

You know the scene when Bilbo Baggins has his sword to Gollums throat but instead decides to spare him - thats how I feel we performed against Man Utd in the last 3 games. It almost seemed that the players couldn't believe how shite Man Utd was in those games and were waiting for some form of a trap to be revealed. This fixture being probably the biggest game on the soccer calendar may have something to do with it. It seemed almost like stage fright at times.

Of the two decent players they have - Rashford and Martial - one of them is injured. No other current Man Utd players would get a look in at Liverpool. This is probably the poorest Man Utd team in 20 years. Now is the time to deliver the coup de grace - put them out of their misery - give them no quarter, hit these bastards like a runaway freight train.

Think Fab may come on for 20 mins after Hendo has run his bollox off. Maybe Lallana for Ox as well and would expect Origi to get some game time.
3-1
Mane will rip them a new one.

Ole has done sufficient damage to that team already. It's too late into the season for the genius i.e. Mr. Woodwards to get things back from worse to bad. So I don't see any incentive in keeping the game close enough to ensure Ole is still at the wheel next weekend.
Proper annihilation this game is going to be.

What’s the Man Utd approach here? Come to Anfield, dig in, try to nullify us on the wings and then hopefully hit us on the counter with the pace of Rashford, Martial, James. Maybe spawn a set piece, but that’s about the best they can hope for, if it goes well from their perspective.

I can’t stand the narrative that has built up around them lately - little old Man Utd, we are just a young side, trying to make our way in the Prem. Nope! Ferguson left them as champions and they have spent many hundreds of millions since then, and each time they have gone backwards. They keep hiring the wrong manager and making poor decisions. Long may it continue, but the frauds should be top four, at least, with all the money they have spent.

They have the ability to hold their own against top teams, so we have to be careful. They don’t do it by playing good football or being especially good, or anything like that. It’s their pace on the counter. It can neutralize the quality gap between teams, and that’s what they will be hoping for.

On our end we have multiple ways to win games, as we have been showing all season long. Man Utd still have a name, but Liverpool are marching up the hill. I will take three points however they come, but ideally I’d like a statement win, sort of like we did against Leicester or Man City.

I‘m going for 3-1, with goals from Mané, Mo and I can’t decide if big Virg gets a header or Trent gets a nice free kick for the third. It might well be Bobby, who is in good form and riding on a high after his recent baptism. Rashford for them, as I think he will play and he is dangerous, and has shown that against us.
