Outside of first team, post match reactions then neither of those podcasts are particularly good in my opinion.

I don't really understand why people pay for TAW.
I really enjoyed TAW before they expanded the offerings and went behind the paywall. Haven't listened in a while now. After the paywall, the 'free' podcast was tired and worn down, as they'd all made similar points on different podcasts and don't feel the need to hash it all out again.

Was really good for a while though.

I think the problem they have is there just isn't THAT much to talk about really and they don't have any further insight than your average fan (cue someone chiming in that Rob Gutmann gets some nuggets blah blah blah)

Generic football show podcasts are better, for me, as they can discuss interesting things outside of just our club.

I preferred TAW as it was several years ago, almost as much about Liverpool culture as about the football . It looks as if most of that has dropped by the wayside, sadly.

I respect their work mostly, but if Neil Atkinson is away sick or on a break, there's a huge dip in attention to detail. That was my point about them not knowing we had other keepers than just the obvious 4.

I hope we play with no goalie. Might give Tranmere a chance to make a game of it!

It's a training exercise. Chance to blow off a few cobwebs, have a run out, and start to find a bit of rhythm again. For one or two of the youngsters they will be looking to show Jurgen what they can do. Brewster hat-trick. Then he can go in goal to tighten it up at the back.

Looking forward to this one. Anybody know if they'll do a little showing of the cup beforehand? I'm sure we did something similar in our first friendly of the 05/06 season - away at Chester maybe? Obviously with Tranmere winning their title it'll be a great spectacle if each side were to parade their silverware off at the start, brilliant that it's two Merseyside clubs too.

Feel like someone's missing though...

Anybody know if the blue shite paraded the cuckoo clock in Kenya the other day?

So maybe all the fuss about a back up left back has been for nought? Robbo is the man. Larouci is coming on leaps and bounds. And if there’s a slight gap between Larouci’s readiness and our need, Milner fills in?

Don’t want to get ahead of ourselves though. It will be interesting to see how Larouci performs.

Echo saying Migs will be fast-tracked into the team for this as we're short on other options.

"The Reds begin their warm-up campaign with a trip to League One neighbours Tranmere Rovers on Thursday missing a number of keepers.

Alisson Becker is now on holiday after helping Brazil win the Copa America on Sunday, Caoimhin Kelleher is recovering from surgery on a broken wrist, and Kamil Grabara has yet to return from having appeared for Poland at the UEFA European Under-21 Championship.

It means Mignolet will almost certainly go straight into the side at Prenton Park despite having still not returned to Melwood on Wednesday morning, while under-18s regular Vitezslav Jaros heads a group of other young keepers vying for a role."
The Echo has confirmed that Migs has returned to training
A complete about face by the Echo after previously saying Migs wouldn't be back in time :unhappy:
So that's another apology I owe @Kopstar :((

Re TAW I pay for it but now its gone up to £7 i'm thinking of cancelling.
Ironically the more the output (more shows) the less interesting its become. Its like they are having to justify the original £5 and now the price hike so just put out shows for shows sake.
I'm a listener since it started and prefer less shows but better shows.
It £10 a month if you want videos - who would pay that? madness.
Agree that Neil Atkinson really drives this and without him the podcasts are a bit meh - i do like the gutter re transfers show though. Thats a fav.
Ill give it a month and see how it goes but since season ended its been an utter snooze fest of podcasts (with the odd exception) as there's literally nothing to talk about at the moment.

Re this game. Cant stand the early friendlies. 4000 subs and its just all round crap game.

I'm off to a gig tonight instead.

Is it possible to watch the game? Will it be streamed by anyone ? I am missing watching my favorite team, and although this match is unimportant in the big scheme of things, it would still be interesting to watch for instance youngsters.

Migs is not good enough to be our first choice, but I think some of his bigger detractors should sometimes be reminded that he always does his best and accepts his position loyally. That he was in a bit of a sour mood when we kept trying to make Karius work, is human and understandable, since Karius was sometimes good, but never outstanding. Shame about him really, had a lot of promise, but fell devastatingly short of expectations in the end. As for Mignolet, he does what he can, and honestly, he holds a realtively high standard even though he is miles from Allison, so he is quite nifty as a nr. 2. Not all clubs have such a good reserve keeper really.

Sadly, it's not possible to play without a goalie. Laws of the game say that you play with 11 players, 1 of which MUST be a goalie.
While reffing, I once almost had to call a forfeited game because one team was fighting amongst themselves and nobody would play goalie (why do men in their 30s bicker like this sometimes). I even told them the person didn't have to do anything other than wear a different colored shirt and be allowed to use their hands in the box. When I started walking to the parking lot, one of them finally agreed.

But I know what you mean.... play 11 people, put the keeper jersey on Milner ... go have fun.

It's on LFCtv officially, from which I was able to stream the friendlies last summer.

I think if he's willing to accept the role of and understand he's not the keeper of the future, but really there for emergency situations and possibly a rest for Alisson... then Mignolet is an ideal #2 keeper.

They should invite some of the lads and lasses on our TIA site to help them out. Our members would liven it up for them -- and the swearing could always be bleeped out.
