I never watched tonights game but Lallana is one of the most technically gifted English footballers iv ever seen. He also works hard on the press/makes tackles.
Unfortunately, he has had 2 injury hit seasons and i would be surprised if he sees the season through without an injury or forces himself into the 1st 11. However, a fully fit AL and AOC gives us options and hopefully keeps tge main stays on their toes.

The key with both if fit, is they offer us different options between the lines - which we missed at times last season.......

Hoever looks to have the ability going forward which Gomez lacked a little. Could see him getting minutes this season.
I like the promising signs of Hoever, from the 2 games iv seen but for a CB i think Gomez is very astute at bring the ball forward. Even at FB he was good it was just sometimes his delivery was hit and miss. defensively he got caught out a few times at the far post. Both Gomez and Hoever have looked good, hopefully they can continue their progression.

Very encouraging display ,particularly from the kids.
Brewster did as most expected, there is some class in that kid.
Larouci interesting, hadn't even heard of him, some rough edges of course, but looks promising,Lewis did OK too,a back up LB ,maybe right here.
Hoever looks pretty good,Clyne was OK in the first half,so maybe Gomez can concentrate on CB where I like him better, anyway.
Klopp wouldn't be terribly unhappy.

Surprised to Clyne still here, even more surprised to see him on the scoresheet.

These highlights really make me want to see a decent couple of rounds of Cup draws. Last year, two and out against two PL teams. Year before, 1-2 against two PL teams. It has been a couple of years since some of the lads coming off the bench have been able to have a solid developmental campaign.

It's amazing how much easier it is to win a cup when you play non-league sides/relegation fodder until you hit the final.

Surely we're due a 'City 2018/19 draw' for at least one of the domestic trophies?

Matip can assist Origi from anywhere, at any level of the game! Taking the picking up from where we left to a new level!
So good to see the reds back in action!
Origi has moved up his own passing to a better level: there was one fantastic long pass to Hoever on the right wing (I think) around the 80th minute that I'd not seen from Divock before now.

Handled well the squad of defenders we have should be enough to go deep into every competition we face this season. We might yet loan out Clyne of course.

Klopp already pissed with the usual media questions asking for black and white answers lol.

From that interview, I think once we get one or two of the front 3 back this preseason (Bobby first?), I think we'll see Bobby central and Rhian wide to see how he handles that position. I think Rhian will still be competing with Wilson, Shaq and Origi, and I don't think there will necessarily be a first choice between them when we need a backup wide forward. Interesting times ahead. If they are all realistic options for Klopp (based on preseason form) I think there is still one too many players.

The biggest thing that pleased me as a supporter was the confidence shown by our young lads. They were playing against men, some as big as brick shithouses, men who didn't want kids making monkeys of them, and yet they coped superbly well. The future is looking bright for them and, even though some won't make the grade at our club they will have good careers elsewhere. Bring on Sunday, my appetite has been whetted.

Without wanting to draw too many conclusions after one preseason game against limited opposition... but maybe we are fine at full-back after all. RB in particular... Hoever looks like a star in the making, and he looks ready to start getting games.

From the highlights Kent looks to light weight. He was knocked all over the place.

I think for his own sake he should be sold. If he stays it will be U23's every week. The problem for him is that even taking into account us sustaining 2-3 injuries, we still have 7 that would make the bench ahead of him.

Migs, Lovren,Gomez, Lallana, Ox, Keita,Shaq, Origi, Rhian are certainties to be ahead of him on the bench, and I could name a few others that are likely to be ahead of him as well.

The problem is that Clyne has £€$ £€$ in his eyes and wants to see out his contract.

It was an impressive performance. I can remember pre-season friendlies from years gone by where the players looked half asleep but not any more. Everyone was hungry and keen to impress. Brewster looked about a stone heavier than when I last saw him. Really stood out in the first half. Strong on the ball, hard working, great touch and some good finishing. He is a clever player. An obvious upgrade on Sturridge as a back up striker and you can see why JK rates him and why he'll get first team minutes this season.

I really like Hoever. He is going to be a superb player for us. Huge potential. All the younger lads did well. There's a great work ethic now at the club. You can see it in every player but Milner sets the example for everyone else to follow. He played as if it was a PL game. Giving it everything, as usual.
Apart from his goals his pass for the assist for Clyne was excellent
