A Friday game just feels strange. In my mind this is a critical game. Its not the actual opponent, its just the opponent AFTER the game we have just had, combined with the style we played. I don't think we are tired, I just think we are incredibly pumped.

Liverpool's form for the last 5 games is quite simply - WWWWW - 15 points, 3 away wins, 2 home wins, 3 clean sheets, 2 goals conceded, 14 goals scored. We need to improve the goals conceded, then we on the way to perfect if perfect existed. Liverpool are the only unbeaten side in the EPL, the only side to have goals conceded in single figures. We are top of the league.

Wolves form for the last 5 games is a respectable - LLWWW - 9 points, 2 home wins, 1 home loss, 1 away win, 1 away loss. They have scored 7 goals while conceding 6. Wolves have a goal difference of 0, and amazingly have the 5th best defense in the EPL, at 19 goals conceded. They have scored 19 (hence the 0 goal difference), which is 13th in the league. They apparently play attacking football, even thou they don't seem to score that many goals. I think their style of play suits us, and as far as i am aware, the manager doesn't change the style of play according to the opponent.

I expect a few Liverpool players to get over their knocks, so hoping TAA and Milner are fine. Wolves have Jota as a slight concern.

I think the lineups in the midfield are going to change on a regular basis. The Man Utd game was a very clear indication to me that we need to have at least one of Fabinho or Keita in the midfield. The forward passing and attacking intent was amazing, and we barely lost any defensive steel. The midfield combination of Gini, Fabinho and Keita excites me, while the combination of Gini, Milner and Henderson concerns me in the attacking sense. If you Replace one/two of the three aforementioned with Fabinho and/or Keita, it just looks more balanced. I once again have to take my hat off to Klopp as he has managed Fabinho and Keita extremely well, they look comfortable. We are now surely going to see the best of this group of 5 midfielders.

I have Henderson returning in both my lineups:

Code:
            Alisson
Milner Lovren Virgil Robertson
               Fabinho
       Henderson Keïta
              Firmino
          Salah Mane

or:

Code:
            Alisson
TAA Lovren Virgil Robertson
               Fabinho
       Henderson Gini
              Firmino
          Salah Mane

I don't know why I bother with score line predictions, I haven't got one right yet. I am again going for a classy 0 - 3 win. Keep the pressure on all our rivals!

They won the last three. They beat Chelsea - we couldn't in two attempts this season. City couldn't beat them at the Molineux. They have players who are good enough to play in the CL. Should be warning enough.

I think nowadays we can beat every team in the world if they are playing an attacking style - and they are definitely.

Happy to see Conor Coady doing so well but i often get the feeling that former players (especially locals) are very nervous when they have to play against us - Martin Kelly in the last two years for example.

Anyone remember the last time a former player (especially a local) had a very good game against us?

Jurgen saying TAA’s injury has improved surprisingly, but likely not quite ready for this one. Fortunately, Clyne has shaken off some rust. Any word on Milner?

5 days between this match and Newcastle at home. Then 3 days until Arsenal and 5 days until city... Expect we'll see most of the fit first 11 for Wolves and then some rotation for the boxing day Newcastle match before the critical matches against Arsenal and City. At least the schedule returns to a bit more normal after that... need to get through this period unscathed.

That being said, I'd go for this on Friday.

Alisson
Milner* - Lovren - Virgil - Robertson**
Fabinho
Gini** - Keita
Salah - Firmino - Mane**
* Assuming Trent isn't fit and Clyne can't go again so soon after his fantastic United performance.
** Assuming they can go here and get a rest against Newcastle

0-2 to the Reds and +15pts on @Fowler's Left Peg chart :celebrating:

Our Xmas do on Friday too - but fuck the football - I'll be out drinking from 1pm and if I make it home or to a pub for kick off, cool, but not too fussed. We don't get may work do's!

I don't like these. From day 1 they were singing anti-scouse songs against the Ev, story in the Echo last week about some scrubbers in town singing Wolves songs and abusing some homeless bloke on Bold St, seems they've got ideas above their station on and off the pitch pretty quickly and I'd wager good money we'll hear 'feed the scousers' at various points Friday.
Don't see the need for too many changes, maybe Shaqiri for Keita and Milner in at RB so as not to burn out Clyne too soon, I don't think these are that good at the back and we can score 3 or 4. I'd love it if we twatted them. that said they've had decent results against the other top sides so we can't be complacent.

Given that we're quite obviously kicking into 3rd gear, Wolves are going to get absolutely obliterated. Sad as they're a decent team with good fans but they're going to get a dry humping and a limp back home.

Surely that cuboid Shaqiri has to start?

I'll take a 1-0 - I think it'll be much tougher than the previous 2 games we had vs Napoli and United. We've pretty much passed every test thus far, but we are now on an incredible run and Jurgen needs to keep them going. The good thing is the engine "midfield" has the most rotation so seems to be functioning really well.

Our next few games are spaced out quite well, as there's usually a dirty sequence of 2 matches within 48 hours and loads of travel too - but not this time.

3 points, don’t care who starts, 3points!! This is going to be a tougher opponent compared to the one we met last Sunday. Hope Lovren and Clyne is up for this one with full concentration. Don’t just fight when playing against United or top clubs. Treat this bunch like one of the top 6.... fight and get us that 3 points.

Surely Clyne will play again? He was good against United and deserves his chance

All games are big now. As other posters have said, we have enough days between matches to play our strongest team.

For me.
Allison
Clyne
Robertson
Lovren
VVD

Henderson
Fabinho
Shaqiri

Salah
Mane
Firmino

Can't take wolves easy. They play good football. Can probably give Robertson a rest against newcastle to keep him ready for arsenal and city. Play Shaq instead of Henderson and gini in the midfield.

Allison
Clyne van dijk lovren Robertson
Shaq fabinho keita
Salah firmino mane

Subs
Mignolet , Camacho , Moreno , Henderson, gini, sturridge etc.

I'm gonna say a 2-0 win for the Reds, goals to VVD and Firmino

Also agree Clyne did more than enough to keep his place against United. Would love to see Gini, Keita and Fabinho in a midfield 3 as well. Think they could lethal together if they're all on their game.

Will be traveling on Friday, so will have to follow along online as best possible. Have a soft spot for Wolves, but they can bugger off this week and lose like good lads. Go on you Reds!

Surely Friday nights are for Tranmere Rovers? They'll be smoking spliffs on the terraces next.

I'm looking forward to this one as Wolves are one of those famous old names who have been out of the top flight for too long. In fact, I just noticed on the news that Bill Slater has died who was their captain back in the 1950s when they were one of the top sides and we were stuck in the second division.

Anyway, I don't think this is an easy one but it is hard to call. Wolves are still settling after promotion but they have had a few decent results against good sides. They seem to be solid in defence so it will have to be a patient game on our behalf but, unlike United on Sunday, they will try to play football.

I'd like to see Clyne continue at right-back as he did well last week. If he is fit I want to see Milner back in midfield alongside Fabinho and possibly starting with Shaqiri to add a bit of creativity.

As ever, would be happy with 3 points.

With Gini playing the last 3 games, I would prefer to rotate him for Hendo. Keita and Fab should retain their places. Milly might be back as well, but I would prefer Clyne to build on his performance. No need for wholesale changes, ensure we have a good lead by the second half and see if can then bring on fresh legs to see off the game and rest a few more players in this busy schedule.

This is the lad that I’ve been talking about. It looks like he is already being pushed forward for first team training duties .......

Liverpool promote exciting Dutch prospect to first-team training - and Jurgen Klopp is impressed

Exciting Academy youngster Ki-Jana Hoever has been promoted to train with Liverpool's first-team squad.

The Dutch youth international is still only 16 but he has impressed Jurgen Kloppsince being sent to Melwood last week.

Hoever, who can play both right-back and centre-back, was called up from the Kirkby Academy due to the Reds' defensive injury crisis.

This TEAM seems able to do bring the long time awaited Silberware Home!
I know what we fans all hope every singe game for our lads to do but it seems this time they know better then US what they want
! Long may it continue even after my death:celebrating:
We re in a healthy leagueposition toe to toe with citeh and if our lads go profesional all the way there s no Need to put preasure in us until May(which ll be a big preasure Lifting that THING!!) If footballgod exist please for the sake of this Club i wish to happen once this year and to stay there for a couple more. I m not a BELEAVER i m more then thatlol !Up the REDS YNWA
p.s. as for Wolves in that respect they got results against chelskies cause they missed a couple of Sitters and could have put the game behind any reach for a comeback , against the citeh a Maradona like Handball rescued them a Point. But i ll repeat our Kloppo they haven t played US untill now so lets put the Things Right this time.If they Play Football 4 0 to the goods for us will the the least i d expect. if they immitate citeh versus us they may loose only with a smaller margin.

Brilliant post! Just one question though, can anyone be a BELEAVER or is it just for LFC's Brexit lovers?
