That table is looking very tasty.

It's a cliche/common sense, but all we can do is keep on picking up 3 points. City's form last year was a bit of a feedback cycle - they look unbeatable because no one tried to beat them. That's not to discount their quality, but the more we can make this a proper title scrap, the more we can put them under pressure and maybe force a few errors.

My money would still be on them to win the title, but we're in this one up to our eyeballs. January 3 is going to be pivotal.

I think if there is a win for one of the sides in that match, the victor will be the team who wins the league, although I also think the title race will go on to the final day regardless of what happens on January 3.

After the last international break and just before the Watford game I wrote on here that if we will still there or thereabouts after the United game we'll have done extremely well. The schedule looked tough. Hard CL games in there too and yet here we are top of the fucking league!

This team is now in unchartered waters. Best start to a season in the entire history of the club. What makes the last sequence of results even more impressive is that it's been done under pressure.

It's not like a normal title challenge season where you know you can maybe afford a dip in form, lose a couple and still have a chance of coming up on the rails at the end, like we did in 13/14. This season demands relentless perfection. Anything short of that and the title race is over. I think most neutrals expect us to crack at some point but City were actually the first to crack, losing at Chelsea when a point would have put them top. Still a long way to go but this start has far exceeded any reasonable expectations.

The second half of the season is tougher for us due to the larger number of tricky away games (starting on Jan 3), so if we reach the halfway point 15 points up compared to last season all the better. It doesn't seem unrealistic to be thinking about 23-25 points by the end of the season though if we have 15 by halfway.

Rolling 38 games:

LFC W27 D8 L3 GD62 Points 89
Man City W30 D5 L3 GD76 Points 95

We are getting closer and closer.
And also the Top 6 table (with Everton) - we already have 12 points which is what the total was last season.

Cant wait till we really get going. Klopp should allow them out of 2nd gear soon.

But after the 3rd our games against the top sides get easier.

We will have played Spurs and Chelsea Away, Arsenal and Man City Home and Away games.

The only tricky away games against top side left is Man U and Everton which are winnable, with tough home games against Spurs and Chelsea.

I think between now and 3rd is our tough run, if we can stay top or a point or 2 behind them we are in a good spot.

The second half of the season will be tough purely because of the pressures of it being the run in, I wouldn't say our away games after the 3rd are particularly worrying on paper at least.

Top for Christmas, I think?
We are and we will, unless Premier League starts awarding winner 4 points this weekend.

A lot of people been making this top on Christmas thing a big deal. They've even compared the last 9 seasons, only us who topped the table on Christmas failed to win the league. So I thought, are we that fucked up? Do we always fall short when it counts? So I looked up that particular season where we finished 2nd - the making of the Great Brendan Rodgers season (yeah - lollollol). Now this is what made me realise how much better we are and how far we've come...

IN 2013/14 season we finished 17 matches with 36 points, yes, 36 points. We sitting on top with 2 points separating between us and the top 5 sides, and 6 points between us and Spurs sitting 7th. Arsenal level on points with us and Man City was only a point away from us. We have won 11 matches, drew 3 and lost 3, conceding 19 while scoring 42. The following match, the 18th match, we lost our lead to Arsenal by losing our game. So if we were to count 18 matches tally, we now fell to 4th spot from 1st, with 36 points, 11 wins, 3 draws and 4 losses, scoring 43 and conceded 21.

This season after 18 matches we still sits on top of the table, and 11 points separate us to 4th spot (possibly 8 points if Chelsea win their match), the club chasing us is a point behind us if they win tonight, 4 if they lose, 2 if they draw. We collected 48 points, with 39 goals scored and this is the big one - 7 goals conceded. We have also won 15 out of our 18 matches and 0 losses so far. We conceded 3 times more in 13/14 than we have this season. Now that's biggest difference to me, the biggest ones.

In fact Rodgers best season is marginally better than our last season record, after 18 matches we had 34 points, sitting 4th with 1 point ahead of Arsenal. Won 9, drawn 7 and lost 2 with 38 goals scored and 18 conceded.

So Klopp for me had brought us to new heights this season. He sure as hell improved us on the defensive side of our game, because he realised we cannot keep going and outscoring others if we want to be taken seriously as a contender. I am soooooo damn happy we have this fella as our manager. I am just going to enjoy whatever this German nut job dished out right now because as a grown ass man, I found myself scared when 2023 comes, this will all be gone!

Does @Fowler's Left Peg only work Monday to Friday office hours?

If I am correct, beating Wolves equivalent last match last season was the loss to Swansea. Keep the GREEN coming.

Really need City to fold now, hopefully Hodgson masterclass this afternoon starts the rot. Any other season, we would be hot favourite to win the league but not this one.

Is Zaha back fit today? I'd have him constantly running at that backline of City's, unsettling them. City HATE being run at, they just crumble. Agent Woy, if you can see this, then please complete your mission, and stop those cunts today. That is all.

All about them greens.... ka-ching!

Every time we are playing stupidly well the others are just the same chasing us down. Why can’t we have a Man City of last season kind of luck. The chasing pack were lacking while they were flying high!
Palace did Us the favour today others to follow Palaces sfootsteps against pep s team:well done:

WHAT A TIME TO BE ALIVE!!! Now im starting to beleave in Santa :celebrating:
We go 4 Points clear to the goods !:well done::well done:
Crystal Palace did this against us in 13/14, now it's city's turn!

To be fair, we've been found out last season and klopp had to rethink. Other teams are trying to find out city the same way.

I refuse to believe there are teams that are meant to be turned over. Wolves still played with purpose against.

What a great time!

Not bad is it lads?

Great chart mate. In retrospect, the chart makes it look like we bagged 5 draws in a row. Although, that sequence probably belongs to the next table. Am i reading this right?

With wolves beaten and city losing, Newcastle, arsenal and city will be great matches. Imagine we beat city during that run and stretch the gap to 7 points :o

@Claymenza honestly in Football everything can happen the 13/14 is the best example of that. If 2 or 3 games goes against us we re in a different mood.Nonetheless untill now we seem to have the footballgod Blessing above us. We Need to do ours and the mighty footballgod ll do the rest for us. Im just out of speech Right now once i look at the table. What pisses me off is all our oponents fans who says we had won Nothing under Klopp. Yes About trophies they are spot on but for god sake find me a Manager in the world who come midd october in like Klopp did and manage with that Team we had to reach the final in Europa league. The Season after the final of Champions League. We re not a finished articel Jet but the upwarddirection our Club and Fansalike are moving may well get the reward for their effortness thisyear(I hope so from the Bottom of my heart).YNWA

This is what irritates the shit out of me... last season at this point, Man City was 11 points clear from United and 14 points clear from 3rd after 18 matches. This season we're on top, but only 4 away from 2nd and 6 from 3rd. Son of a bitch..... everyone upped their game when it was our turn being on top.
