of course he will lean over coutinho broken dreams
why that's such a question in the first place?
LOL
Coutinho scored a hat-trick yesterday in a team that's brilliantly set up for UCL success. He's had two years of relative failure but that could now be behind him.
Bayern are our biggest rivals if they get luckier with the draw this year

They won 1 match and Cou score 1 hat-trick. Big deal.
We are unbeaten in the toughest league whereas they are 4th in a 2 team league.
They should be praying that they don't get us. In fact every single team should pray that they don't get us.

And it was only against Bremen. They lost against Monchengladbach and Leverkusen in the last couple of weeks.

Very confused, I thought this is the Takumi thread...
All I wanted to say was contrary to what everyone wants to believe, Phil's dreams aren't completely broken yet. Sorry for derailing.

Yeah, as emergency CB
Funny that. Rumours are that Takumi will take the number 17 shirt, and as we all know our № 51 is three times the player in defence despite being 7 years younger.

Isn't it the No 18? He always had that number.
Kuyt's number doesn't have the same allure as one of Gerrard's old ones was the theory in the Echo. You could have a point though.

I now have seen some reports saying that Takumi is on his way to get his medical.
In case some of you didn't know.... Red Bull Salzburg played their last match for the next month and a half yesterday. Sidenote their league gives a real winter break to rest players rather than pile up fixtures in the middle of winter... and they don't play again until February 9th. But I digress.

I did find it interesting that the Haaland, Minamino, and Hwang Hee Chan were all left out of the game day roster yesterday. They ended up drawing the match and and that means the 2nd place team can catch them on points - so it wasn't an unimportant match.

So I am wondering if Salzburg lose all 3 this January as I know ManUnited and a couple other teams are seriously after Haaland (who I really hope doesn't end up at Manchester United because I think they will kill his development - I want him to go to Dortmund) and Hee-chan is also very good.

I hope Haaland goes to United. He's worse than Lukaku. He's rubbish, slow and completely overrated. We've got the star of Salzburg.
Are you nuts?
No. I don't think so
Time will soon tell if he has another (better) talent in the pipeline.

It will be interesting to see. We’ve certainly had a mixture of price points, ranging from home grown/academy like Trent; to fantastic buys, especially for the money, like Robbo; to big money signings to do a big job, like say, Fabinho; to world record fees being paid for the best in the business in their position, like VVD and Alisson.

The common denominator is their great ability. We have done our shopping at all price points.
Ability AND attitude. There is a profile that is required to work here. Players must be selfless, hard working AND talented. You can get all 3 in a player who is ready made, and that player will likely be expensive, as was the case with Virgil and Alison. However, talent, money and years of adulation tend to erode the first two traits. As such, I think it is far more likely to find a player who fits the bill with a low profile than find it in an already established player the world knows about and who is available. That lends itself to lower fees.

We're short on holding midfield players not attacking midfield players. Anyhoo JK's MO is typically to keep noob's out of the firing line until he's convinced that they've got a good grasp of the system. I don't expect to see the Scouse Samurai in the team for at least a month after he signs. I could be wrong of course.....
Typically overstates it. Matip, Gini, Virgil,Keita, Mane and Mo all went straight into the side after getting bought.
