Cheers, that's a bit of info. I thought he was some sort of central midfielder. Well, I hope that this isn't a move in order to replace Phil, or I'll have to join RedForever and get my pitchfork out.

For anyone unfamiliar with him, Lamarr in action:

Terrific in the tackle too

Wonder if this is the kind of deal we were waiting to do if we got CL.

Makes sense in relation to the rumoured Origi sale as he is more useful in that front 3 but also gives us that options in midfield.

Anyhow seems Reddy is talking it up so seems genuine.

I think Nabby keita would be the best option for a countinho replacement keep countinho for another year the activate his buyout clause at around £45 million and that would be perfect in my eyes he's only young great on and off the ball great team player and at the price it would be stupid to send £70 mill + on players that are a gamble on weather they would fit or not this is why Klopp said he wouldn't buy players for the sake of it he said they need to fit to the style of play and the attitude he wants other wise we end up with flops who we struggle to get our money back for just my opinion.
I understand the thinking that Lemar is a risk but he would have a year to get used to the country, style of play etc which reduces the chance of him being a bust. Also I thought keita was an addition not a replacement hence he was targeted before Coutinho dropped his bombshell. On top of that how do you explain us going in so late for lemar?

I think the Coutts money will only be this crazy this year. £130m is mad money.

So I would take it. If we can get this guy in for half that money then it seems a sensible business deal - to take emotion out of it and build a team.

Then push again for Keita and VVD with the extra money. He is a far better alt native to Ox.

I think all these transfers are related. You need to see who we get before we close others. E.g. get this lad. Ignore Ox.

Would rather see him offered as part of the deal...30m off the 60m price. He's not getting a game and doesn't fit into the style that's developing within this team. Have solanke developing into big quick lad if we EVER decide plan b is necessary

It's not £130 mill though because the Add ons are stupid it will be 60 mill and the rest if he wins the ballon'dor or walks on the moon I rather hold out for the full money instead of 70 mill worth of stupid addons

Wonder if we've offered to loan them Origi as well, to sweeten the deal...

Edit: lol, wrote that before I saw Reddy's tweet in the other thread. It makes a lot of sense.

Wait right there mister I suggested that before you so HA!

Graeme Kelly in the Twitter thread said it has nothing to do with Coutinho....this cycle or Keita, who apparently is in the U.K. Apparently they want this done today. Would be great business, this guy has it all and is versatile. I would love to sign these players.

If we are serious about retaining our place in the CL and challenging from the PL we need a quality 18 players imo. They way we play, consider we are going to play intense games mostly every 3/4 days till January at Least. We need quality as well as to show our main players we are not going to take 3 steps forward and 2 steps back.

I have seen good players sit on Chelsea and City bench while they walk the league and we need to get close to their overall quality to do the same

I don't think it was before the countinho bombshell mate that started ages ago Barca have been sniffing around countinho for a while now as neymar was telling them to track him as well was Suarez so I think klopp was being clever by looking at someone who could fit in the squad if he stays or leaves but this countinho thing has been around for a while the only thing that was new was the transfer request but like I said they have been looking at him for a while not just this summer or past month

I won't get excited...I won't get excited...I won't get excited... God damn it I watched 30 seconds of a highlight vid and I'm excited.

In all seriousness, I can't say I've seen much, but one of the games I have seen involved him demolishing Spurs in the CL. We'll see but it's hard to believe Monaco will sell again so far into the window, especially with no rumours of the player being unhappy.

Hmm, that should be 18 rated, it's almost footballing porn.

Can't say I knew that much about him beforehand (I watch very little European footy these days) but what I like most from the clip @Zinedine Biscan posted was his composure, it's almost Lovren like. Rarely is he just trying to take the casing off the ball, he's nearly always looking to pick his spot. However, I'm still wary of drawing too many conclusions from these little highlight reels. Talk of videos still brings Savo Milosevic to mind.

The fee mooted in the reports is way over the top but aren't they all now. European clubs just view Prem clubs as Ker-chinnnng F.C. and are only too happy to do overpriced business with us.

However, let's see where this one goes. Wait for the lean folks. Wait for the lean.

I wouldn't sell orgi it's not worth it I'd loan him out and see how he progresses as there is talent there he just needs game time but he's not worth £30 mill though.
Would think hes worth 15m-20m even with inflated prices this season
