Also doesn't look as happy as he would after signing for lfc of course. Then take a look at the web address, heh.

My one and pretty much only worry on this signing is the issue of attitude and mindset, but since Klopp and LFC have highlighted this area as a crucial box to check on any and all incoming signings, I’ll trust that they’re reassured that Shaq is coming in to work his socks off.

As to some of the criticisms of the player:

His stats for Bayern, which are posted somewhere back in the stream, really weren’t that bad in terms of goals and assists per minutes played. Not quite as much a “flop” there as I’d thought.

The “fat and lazy” tag seems to be, well, lazy, just based on how he looks. While he probably wouldn’t win a foot race with either of Mane or Salah, he’s not slow, and after watching more of his highlight vids, actually has a pretty good initial burst of pace to get past defenders.

I think he’ll thrive being back on a winning team and having better players surrounding him once again.

I think he’s certainly got more in his locker than any of our current crop of “attacking subs” in terms of current overall quality, with the possible exception of Sturridge, who I don’t expect to be here, or be healthy. Don’t think any of Solanke, Origi, Ings, etc, currently strike any fear into defences. Too early to tell on Wilson and Brewster, though there are high hopes for each. Lallana is a quality player, but he just doesn’t score that much, and he’s not much of a long range shooter or free kick specialist, and if you’re worried about Shaqiri’s speed, well, I do think he’d easily take Lallana in a sprint.

He’s a left footed attacker who likes to play on the right or to come centrally. So, he can spell Salah when needed, or fill in for games when Salah might be played as the starting striker.

Also, he’s got a good long-range shot, and can shoot with his right better than I’d thought, and has a decent amount of cleverness and pass on him. I wouldn’t be surprised if he could occasionally fill the #10 spot, though I certainly hope we still get in another player, either Fekir or other, more dedicated to that spot.

Been watching a lot of his videos and reading up on him, does seem to be a very solid (figuratively and metaphorically) signing. Not a starter but fabulous depth (and width lol ). Very much a "safe" signing I think and not injury prone. Good addition IMHO.

Sky Sports as of 6pm ish:

Xherdan Shaqiri’s medical ahead of a move to Liverpool from Stoke is still ongoing and progressing well, Sky Sports News understands.

Ahhh, the suspense is to much. I want ever signing like Fabinho, speculation one minute and within an hour signed.
